I went keto/ketovore about 15 months ago. Lost weight and experienced a little clearer head but never got the energy I was looking for. I developed what I think is rosacea for the first time in my life (always had acne) and my fasting insulin went up when I did my blood work last week. My blood pressure is pretty low and I've been constipated my whole life. Report on a recent CAT scan basically said I'm 'full of it'. (Might be a good idea for a video - how to clean all that out. I can't be the only one with that problem.) Previously I'd gone gluten- and dairy-free and felt good. Maybe I'll have to go back to that.

Don't even think about it, try to eat carbs again, just not highly processed ones but healthy. I was on carnivore for 4 months and had pretty much the same issues besides rosacea, though I got really scaly hands at the end of it. My blood pressure on carbs is still pretty low, but the digestive system works, I finally have basic energy to live and exercise, and that misery and depression went away.
Though in past months I figured out that my stomach acid wasn't good enough for digesting meat, so I'm thinking to try keto/carnivore again pretty soon. Though I haven't got any weight still after 5 months of carbs being very-very thin.

I also have rosacea and went on carnivore to cure it. BP in 90-ies/60-ies and never higher. So 2 months on the carni diet didn't help my skin. I'm drinking water with salt and those liquid minerals - BP is still the same. I take everything he says + some more: For liver: Beet flow, milk thistle, artichoke, burdock root, tocotrienol, taurine. For skin: Vitex fruit, Zinc. For digestion: enzymes and HCL+Pepsine. Digestion has drastically improved. The skin - not. Will check that carb cycling video, maybe it will work on me.

@@Dostav what helps me with energy on keto/carnivore is *MCT* oil. This is pure fuel. Totally recommend.

@@olgaj9267 even though I despise using carbs as energy fuel, they at least make sense from many perspectives, while medium chain fatty acids are something completely out of the picture in human diet as from historical perspective as evolutionary, as financial and so on, in my opinion. Besides, we shouldn't eat just energy, we should eat food that provide energy and nutrition.

@@Dostav totally agree. But sometimes you need to function, take care of kids, work, and you simply have no energy. This is when MCT helps.

Surely insulin doesn't allow to acces stored body fat, but not everyone's goal is losing weight, especially after going through keto diet and looking back to carbs because of new health issues. That's why we eat dietary fats that are digested and absorped slowly to fuel our bodies between meals that may include carbs. I think that was worth to mention. Very informative video overall though, thank you

Insulin resident from a low carb diet? I need more information. My body has basically rejected carbs after two years keto. I gain weight. I don’t sleep. I feel weak and dizzy.
