Concrete work is a hard working life, it tests all joints. Hurry up and unload before the first laid sets then wait time , then go to keep it smooth . great job.
That new addition is looking good and I'm sure will be valuable space for the girls. And looks like those guys are doing an excellent job on the building and concrete. Thanks for the video. God bless. 👌
Great video Eric! Ten generations! That's a lot of experience in becoming an expert at the things you do. A lot of experience with your local companies and knowing the reputable ones that will stand behind their advice and work. Lots of experience with longstanding companies that know the weather conditions and workloads of the projects they complete. Looks like you've got a great contractor for this build. So only compliments from here on all the decisions you've made, the work you've put into the job, the workers you've hired, and the quality of the job.
Your new addition is looking real good Eric can’t wait to see the whole thing done . Been real busy with silage that is why no video for awhile understandable . Would like to see the whole farm after you get everything done barn and drive around all done. Your farm is getting bigger almost every other week something is added to the farm that’s cool . It improves your farm and the achievements you done to get their , I give you a gold 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Unbelievable how technology has helped. That cement smoother thingy is awesome. Probably saves time and muscles! Thanks for all you and ur family does to get us milk. Blessings to you and ur family. Thanks for videoing and editing and m of course, posting,! Greetings from NE O-H-I-O. ❤️❤️
Thanks for the video. I know this is a busy time for you and filiming makes it harder. I look forward to the videos and appreciate the time you put into making them even with being busy.
He could have at least ordered the poly-fiber stuff mixed into the concrete for convenience. Skipping mesh/rebar completely seems like a sketchy decision. Concrete WILL crack so you need to control how and when as best you can.
@@jdjd7127 For sure that concrete won't last as long without some kind of mesh. I heard good things about the fiberglass mixture but not all places supply it.
It seemed to get super thin towards the bunker I couldn't really tell in the video I'd say maybe 2 inches... what are your thoughts... I kinda cringed thinking it will all just crumble and break right apart... especially with the equipment coming in and out if that area...I don't work concrete but I've been around a little
@@jdjd7127 Even *with* reinforcements and perfect setting/curing all concrete will crack. It just happens worse and sooner when shortcuts are taken. The only thing worse than relying on advice from strangers on he internet may be NOT relying on it sometimes. Once the stuff fails, the guys' words aren't worth much in court. That only counts if the guy is a certified professional with papers. Best of luck to them.
Yeah, I was wondering that myself. But, I hear it's not uncommon for Amish to work alongside the "English" to help supplement the home farm income in southeast PA.
Lookin' good! That barn addition is going to be sooo nice! and we get more corn silage action! WAHOOO! I might be slightly addicted to corn silage chopping and bunker filling videos. Could be worse...
Looks good Eric, those guys do a really nice job. So the plan is to extend the special needs area and move the prefresh pen towards the outer enclosure? If I have that right, sounds like it will give you guys more special needs accommodations. Great video, loved it, thanks for sharing, have a great weekend.
I love watching your videos and how you explain things, and how they will help your operation. How many people are in your operation including you and your dad. Looks like you have been really busy with the addition and getting ready and chopping silage. Did you meet your 100 loads for the bunker and did you meet your expectations of the corn crop "silage " this year ? I always love your drone footage and the segments of the chopper and catch wagons as they look flawless. Everything you do,for your operation is like 1 more piece to completing the puzzle as your operation always looks spotless !
Eric, i also follow one construction guy's videos. One time he mentioned that the concrete gets cracks every 10 feet, so he put some extra rebar on the home base floor each 10 feet. Just keep observing, i would like to know if that is true or not. I hope your floor stays good. Thanks for sharing.
If the concrete has fiber added no rebar required as it is the reinforcement. Where vehicles drive especially heavy ones, using both rebar and fiber plus more depth of concrete is indestructible
Great video as always I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to make these videos for us. The new addition is looking really nice I can't wait to see it finished, just wondering does all of that construction affect the milk production like it would egg production in chickens?
My experience is that pump trucks are typically much higher price hour and require 2 operators from the cement company. This is one cement company operator and a much less costly piece of equipment. This was not a huge pour, so the extra price on the higher priced equipment not necessary.
Addition is coming right along. It will be neat to see how the cows react when they get to walk over there for the first time

Great video Eric and thank you for continually keeping us updated on how your farm is progressing and that barn extension is coming along nicely
I can't wait until the next video comes
The addition is looking great. glad you are able to make upgrades to your farm. Thanks for a great video.
baby mouse running for his life like that scene in 'Honey, I shrunk the kids" at 6:40
I enjoy watching the continued growth of your farm. Great content. Always looking after the herd. Stay safe.
A good job, imho ! Bye from Italy ! 👍
Seriously
What’s better than a skid steer and a healthy set of attachments.
That Jack hammer made quick work it the short wall.

Having the skilled help really makes a difference.
One big peace of concrete will crack right in the middle.
The project is coming along very nicely. And you like you were enjoying the opportunity to drive the shuttle cart for the concrete.

That power screed saves so much time. Looking good eric!!

Thanks for all the milk you and your family provide America brother👍🇺🇸

nice construction of barn concrete floor #❤️👍
Work on a farm never ends. Really enjoy your channel
Thank you so much for the video
Nice progress love to watch it thanx
And greets from the netherlands
The hydraulic jack hammer was nice. Looks like you need more room for close ups ??. Thanks Chet. 👍
Ah mate amazing thanks for always producing
This concrete shall be a learning experience with frost cattle and machinery on it and no rebar mesh or expansion joints... time will tell...
It shouldn't be an issue with a 4" slab. Not a crazy amount of weight running on it.
Coming along great. Congratulations on the new addition.
Looking good.
Thank u for the share. Did so enjoy watching the progress.
Thanks for the videos, I hope it shows a lot of people the amount of work it takes to "do the things".
Wo w we've been gone for 5 months,,,things looking good for progress expansion...so glad for you and your Dad... Evelyn going to school yet?
Really great video Eric. The addition is looking awesome. Thank you and your dad for another great video. Thank you
Thanks Eric, They sure did a great job on that floor!(R)
I get your reasoning but rebar and expansion grooves are integral to the longevity of pours that large.
He could have at least ordered the poly-fiber stuff mixed into the concrete for convenience. Skipping mesh/rebar completely seems like a sketchy decision. Concrete WILL crack so you need to control how and when as best you can.
Cattle on the concrete as well as heavy machinery I believe it needs rebar along with getting frost in PA I hope it doesn't crack this winter...

How would you compare the results of the manure injected crops to the chemically fertilized?
The barn is looking great. The Amish built our stable and they did a excellent job . How were they with you filming?

Looks like a field cricket .
Keep up the awesome work!!!!
Coming along great can't wait to see u fill the next bunk
I'm thinking on a place your size, that Jack Russell gets a bit of work in...
The Amish guys look like real hard working, professional guys. Great to see them working.
How exciting, looks great!
Looks good
Wow the progress is amazing looking so good
Love your vids Eric!
Gee, you could have used a hand from Jan; I hear he is good at knocking down concrete walls.
The concrete workers are an amazing group, so precise and fast. This fall finds you going in a million directions at once😜
Looking real fine - good job 👍

looks pretty good!!!
Someone is going to sample that heavy metal intro. Go ahead, listen again.

That’s why they usually cut it,so when it cracks it runs in the cut!
Nice!! 🙂
You do such a wonderful job on your videos! Hello from Oklahoma!

Great work by the Amish, as usual!
10G!! You da man!!
If you ever decide the need for that floor to be grooved you always have the option of Alan coming in and cutting in micro-grooves
Any cow hoof prints in the new concrete?
Great video as always I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to make these videos for us. The new addition is looking really nice I can't wait to see it finished, just wondering does all of that construction affect the milk production like it would egg production in chickens?

Great content
Blessings to you and yours for sharing what family looks like working together ❤ 🙏
Hi Eric and dad awesome video love it and as always you and your dad and families be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸
great video eric nice job
I'm curious whether the construction work adversely effects milk production.
Make sure to water the concrete to make sure it hardens completely
seeing the poring from an european perspective it seemed pretty inefficient with the buggy machine? here we just would've used pumps or a pumptruck

@@markiowa5437 if u see it like that makes sense ty
Why is it you don't use a leaf blower to clean the bunks? They're pretty powerful....
