Nice. I love how you don't just accept your environment, you mold it to what you want. And doing a lot of the work yourselves puts skin in the game. Many, including me, would have just told the contractors what to do and justified it by telling saying I have too many other duties that take all my time. Milking, feeding, equipment maintenance, etc. Not you guys. You find the time, energy and effort to do it all. Respect.
Christine, I think "enough" to fill your needs is ideal and highly desired in some cases. But anymore than that becomes undesirable and quick in a rural area.
Farm is looking great Eric. Love seeing a young man like yourself taking pride in the family farm. I'm your neighbor in Franklin county and I remember when I was younger everyone grew up on a family farm around here. It was such a great childhood and taught us so much to prepare us for the world ahead. Wish times were still like the 1980s and early 1990s such a better time.
Excellent video Eric! Been a pleasure to watch the progress on the new extension. Glad to see you do the prep work yourselves. Great crew of contractors. Andrew's tilt of the head when looking at the camera was just like the cows checking out your camera placement - 😆 Congratulations on the new build! I'm sure there will be many blessings among the love, care, respect, and deeds to come in the new shelter. Best wishes!
I am loving the cooler temps. Leaves ar just starting to turn a little here in Erie, Pa. The new barn extension looks great and I hope it helps you make things a lot easier. You sure put a lot of clever features into the new space. Great video. Thanks.
The improvements look really good! The pre fresh cows are going to enjoy all that space. Probably a smart idea to maximized flexibility in those pens. Ya never know what situation might come up that you will be really glad you took those extra steps at some later date.
Well worth the investment. More room cows have less stress on cow and human. Yes theres nothing quite like having the calving cows close and handy to the human activity to keep an eye on them.
As a retired farmer, could you spray the square in the floor ( for the center post ) a bright colour, so it is easy to find when digging in the bedding. Just a suggestion. Fantastic job on the addition, always making it a little easier for the ladies and the farmer. Have a great week.
Depends on the the concrete mix, only if you are going to use a specially designed mix to prevent rebar ionization. It would it be a good idea for the long run if you have heavy equipment on it frequently. If not, the standard mix concrete subject to the kind of environment you have without rebar would save it breaking down from the inside out.
It seems like yesterday they just started that whole process was fast!! It looks great Eric and can't wait to see it work out for you. Your probably relaxed now because the past few weeks have been busy with this and harvest in between.
Your engineering skills and desire to learn new things is amazing... great ideas with moving the posts... great construction skills... we questioned no rebar you got us answers... keep up the great work...
I think Eric has been taking some college classes on videography or some other sort of media class and not telling us. He makes these videos on new projects like this and almost but doesn't quite show us the complete build. I was on the edge of my seat watching this video wanting to see the completed addition and then at the end..nope. Have to wait until the next video...again! Can't wait to see the final chapter of the new addition.
I poured mud for 10 yrs professionaly for a company and I can tell ya first hand! If there isn’t gonna be any excessive weight on it then you don’t have to put any rod or mesh in it!! As most people I’ve seen say rod and mesh rust overtime and will start eat away at the concrete from the inside!! Don’t worry about the haters Eric haters always gonna hate their just jealous cause they wish they could work as hard as you do and still wear a smile at the end of the day!! Barn looks awesome!! Great job!!!!🤘🏻
You guys do it all, of course a farmer has to do it all or he will go broke, at least I would. Love the new prefresh pen, it will add a lot of value, makes for more open space. Like what your doing on the farm and the videos your making. Thanks for sharing, have a great remainder of the week.
Congrats you got 403k subscribers yahooooo🎉 . It’s 92 in the high’s we got server storms heading our way strong winds a thunder lighting . Wow look real good so far Eric that will be awesome more room for pregnant cows and fresh cows .Would like to see the whole thing done
You did good, rebar is a double-edged sword, it allows you to use less concrete but it also will rust in time and destroy the concrete. There are Roman churches made of concrete 500yrs old with no rebar.
Thank you very much for sharing with us. Your life is so interesting. Even tho you are always at the same farm there is always so much new stuff going on.
Things are Look’n great Eric. What are you going to do with all your extra time with the efficiencies that you’ve gained? ha, ha 🤣 Thanks for another excellent video.
Concrete only needs reinforcement if it will be subject to tension. Reinforcement will shorten the life of concrete because when it rusts, it breaks the concrete apart.
With this addition, why didn't you switch to the center locking gates like in the new calf pens? Then you wouldn't have the middle post to deal with or back into with the skid loader.
Enjoy seeing the process. Thanks for sharing!

Nothing quite as lovely as a vast expanse of new concrete! I live in a rural area and have come to really appreciate concrete.
A person that lived in the city my whole life I'm sick of it...interesting how life works that way. Another mans trash or whatever
Christine, I think "enough" to fill your needs is ideal and highly desired in some cases. But anymore than that becomes undesirable and quick in a rural area.
Barn looks great and I think the lady's put thier stamp of aproval on it as well
Its great that you can get the improvments done

Congrats on the finish of the expansion looks great
Thanks Eric. Interesting changes.
Roadmill is what you were digging out. It is ground up asphalt off of Old highways when they redo them.
Congratulations! The addition looks great. Looks like Andrew has your sense of humor. 2:50
Ease of operation is one of the keys to efficiency and productivity as a result. Keep planning for the future as you are.

Glad to see all the good results from all the planning you and your dad put into the barn addition. Always looking after the cows. Stay safe.
Great to see it all coming together.

Looks real nice!!!!
Very nice... I really appreciate the fact that you guys are Dairy Famers and not a builder, plumbers, electricians do what you know ...I like it
Well worth the investment. More room cows have less stress on cow and human.
Yes theres nothing quite like having the calving cows close and handy to the human activity to keep an eye on them.
You always talk about fresh cows!!! What do you do with the stale ones??😂😂

Awesome as always Eric! Everything's looking great.
You said about a 3 week build, amazing. Looking good Eric.
Good job. Barn looks great. Nice improvement. Cows are content and it is easier to keep clean I'm sure. Good video.
there’s 2 things about concrete… it will be expensive and it will crack.

I have learned a lot from you since I started watching your videos. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you from South Carolina!
Great video. !!!!! Thinking ahead. Incredible diary. And still getting better!!!!. Thanks for letting us watch.
Your friend helping you out looked like an older version of Aiden Gallagher.
Great awesome video Eric. Be easier if u had a mini excavator digging ,

Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🐄 Man!!!
Great vídeo
Almost 3k views in 20 min, Amazing job Eric!
Very nice improvement
How are lane sweepers doing? New ones in future maybe ,as they seemed to be a great help and improvement for cows?
Don't know if you use it, but out west we use fiberglass, sometimes, mixed in with the concrete for a binder to help stop cracking.
I like that you condensed the video
Andrew's look PRICELESS
Looking really good
9.000 degrees in good ol FFA!!!!

Good design! Great content! And most of all, hard work 👍
Thank you very much for sharing with us. Your life is so interesting. Even tho you are always at the same farm there is always so much new stuff going on.
This video keeps coming up. I always like it
Then it comes you again like I never watched it.
i love your videos take care from Poland
Looking fine Eric. Keep taking advantage of that 179 deduction and things will be running real smooth for future expansion. Love your channel.
Lookin good now
Good seeing a concrete crew NOT from south of the border.
Things are Look’n great Eric. What are you going to do with all your extra time with the efficiencies that you’ve gained? ha, ha 🤣 Thanks for another excellent video.

Sweet!! Thanks 😊
With this addition, why didn't you switch to the center locking gates like in the new calf pens? Then you wouldn't have the middle post to deal with or back into with the skid loader.
I'll explain sometime in a video. We did consider that, but there are a couple reasons we like the center post.

Cool show Eric. Love your videos. What's your next construction dream?
You have made some Magor investments in the farm over the last 2 years. Have you ever considered robot milkers
