    Thank you very much for sharing this. I finally grasped the concept of the stitch. Every other time i saw other crocheters using this stitch form they did it too quickly thus making me avoid even trying to replicate it. Now i can use it with confidence. Thanks again for using patience and repetition in this tutorial. This has been by far the best tutorial on a foundation stitch. A few shawl patterns that i like use these foundation stitches , now i have confidence to try them out. 😊❤

      Me neither! I like using this stitch. (It saves time IMO). But i never thought about doing it this way before. Now i think that's so easy.... Why didn't that occur to me when i needed to do that on a project 🙄. Lol. 😅 THX @Tuula! Much appreciated. ❤🙏🥰

    Thank you! I have tried foundation double crochet before, but never knew where to put my hook as I went forward (nor did I really understand how the stitch was forming). This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. Thank you so much! ☺️

    How do you keep the chain stitches you create, by pulling through only one loop, big enough so the bottom edge doesn't bend into banana shape? Mine always go so tight that the under edge bends and isn't straight.

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  9 місяців тому +2

      One thing is to have the right size of a crochet hook. But largely it is just practice, I make sure I don't tighten the stitch when I make it.

    Being fairly new to crochet, I never thought about using foundation stitches in this way. I assume this works with any of the basic foundation stitches.

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes, works equally with foundation single crochet, half double crochet, treble etc.

    • @TuulaMaaria

      The way I hold both yarn and hook are very common in many European countries, we are taught that at schools, or almost like that, I have changed it a bit!
