I'm a breastfeeding mama and my dog had a lot of mucus, so much that her eye was kind of closed. I pumped some milk, cleaned her eye with concentrated organic chamomile tea, then organic virgin coconut oil and I just poured a little bit of milk in her eye because I didn't have a dropper and now about a day later her eye is SO MUCH BETTER. The mucus outside her eye is all dried up (it was very little) and no real visible mucus like before she had huge globs. Great healing and antibacterial properties of breastmilk. Great for human baby and fur baby 💓

Hi and you are correct- breast milk contains many natural antibacterial ingredients and does work for many topical infections. Just most of us don't have ready access to it :-)

Thank you, thank you Dr. Jones. When my hubby & I adopted Rico, a sweet 14 years old Shi Tzu in August 2019, almost a year now, he came to us not only blind & deaf but had a cherry eye, dry eyes, skin disorder, and ear infections, we were broken hearted on how, who, why anyone would neglect this little guy. Moving forward, he is living his golden years happy, loving, & comfortable. He's a healthy happy senior. But after trying many drops and ointments from our vet, his eye are still discharging mucus that become clumps. I clean his eye 2x a day with warm compresses and natural drops, with no results. I decided to search UA-cam for a veterinarian who uses, believes, and recommends natural remedies, I'm happy to have found you, Dr. Jones.

When we got our Tzu puppy, the gal said he was late to opening his eye & was on eye drops for an infection. Didn’t think much of it. Around 1 yr old (last Fall) he needed to see the vet for an infection. Prescribed Bac-Neo-Poly 2x/day for 21 days & also alternate w/ GenTeal gel drops. Both not cheap & later got GenTeal cheaper in stores.
All winter long, I went back & forth w/ giving the antibiotic ointment. By March, I stuck w/ the 21 day plan & it seemed to clear up & then all it takes is a week off now & infection comes back. He had another vet recheck & is now only on Optimmune eye med ($50!...yes i’ll look into saving $ elsewhere) 1x/day for life. Vet said our dog won’t lose his eyes, but the dry eye condition will likely eventually affect his other eye as well. It’s a PITA to deal with daily, but it could be worse. With eye testing, that’s 2 mos. of vet bills at $120+ each month. Does anyone have any tips? Our Tzu/Lhasa didn’t have a dry eye until he was around 8-9.

Thank you so much for this video! We have a little rescued Shih Tzu whose eyes were completely covered by felted mats. One eye sustained severe scratches and the tear ducts were damaged. Dr. Jones, What do you think os PetAlive's "Eye-Heal"? It has Burdock, Rosemary, Celandine, and Meadowsweet. You dilute 5 drops into 20 ml water. Wipe eyes with soaked cotton ball. Our dog seems to have exactly what you discussed in this video. Our Vet said she had cataracts! She seemed super relieved when I gently wipe her eyes with this and her eyes have gotten brighter and the mucus has abated a lot. I apply it 3 times a day. She looks and acts so much younger!! Will be trying the honey and black tea as well!

Thankyou! I hope I can use some of this on MY 12yr old-almost-shih tzu Pebbles. She is NOT like that little doll Seattle however lol! Gumby is more her style. She is very sweet but also very spoiled and opinionated. My fault I know. I got her at about 7wks so we have been together a long time. We also have a 9yr old "jackrat" named BamBam and an 80lb pittie named Titan plus 4 cats and 2 elderly chins so we have a zoo. Plus some possums o/s my pittie loves and tries to bring in! He HAS brought one upstairs. We gave it grapes and called a rehab lady.
I just wondered. Can this condition look ALOT like cataracts? Her eyes are getting cloudier all the time. I haven't really gotten much help at vet with this. My pitties-we lost our first to bone cancer-have had so many issues with yeast etc. She really needs assistance now. Welk me too as she has me wrapped around her little paws and I give up after awhile when she doesn't want me to do something....like anything slightly annoying or uncomfortable. Aarrgghhh! Sorry this is a book. I use Boogie Wipes and eye wash for kids and TRY to keep the hair trimmed. Nightmares! I need an army to hold her. She is great at the vets. Just like a kid AND they HAVE an army. I do not!
    Thanks again Doc!

I took our dog to an opthamologist, who then confirmed dry eye disease and prescribed Tacrolimus drops, ( which are not healthy in the long run)
      But worked.
I started giving her the human vitamin N-Acetal cystein 1,000mg as well as her medicated drops, put her back on Dr.Jones Ultimate Canine Supplement, followed his turkey home-made dog food recipe, an off brand human allergy drop from cvs, (CVS brand)stopped the Tacrolimus drops 2 weeks ago. So far so good. No mucous at all, her eyes are beautiful.
Somewhere here Dr. Jones has done another video on homeopathic ideas. His advice is working for us, hoping this helps someone else's pup as well

Hi, first ensure there is not a secondary infection ( ie UTI) causing the 'insulin resistance- Second ask about another brand of insulin. The cataracts will not resolve, but you should be able to lower the insulin dose and control this.

I guess the honey & water, plus the Earl Grey tea need to be refrigerated after you make them. My question is do you need to remake these eye drops every day? If not is there a 2 day limit on the tea solution, or will they last a week in the fridge?

Our little adoptee (some kind of shih tzu mix) has prescription eye drops (tacrolimus .03%) and systane eye drops, but still builds up a "crust" around her eyes. What is the best way to clean that crust? It seems to hurt her when I try to "pull it" off with a warm wet washcloth. Thank you!

Ensure he is parasite free. You want moderate growth with adequate levels of protein, such as 30-40% beef/chicken protein

Thanks for your helpful videos. I’ve added a couple supplements to my pets’ regimen, after seeing a couple of your other videos and further research. Two of my 14 year old dachshunds have this same grayish slime in their eyes every day. I have to clean it out of their eyes a couple times a day. One rubs his eyes occasionally. The other doesn’t, but I can tell his eyes bother him. I’d like to see if there might be a store/other brand that is comparable to the Isopto that you recommended. What particular ingredient(s) should I look for in this type of eye drops? Can I also use regular Artificial Tears brand lubricant eye drops (active ingredients: Polyvinyl alcohol 0.5% and Povidone 0.6%), along with what you recommended? I have dry eyes myself due to Lasik eye surgery 20 years ago. So, I use Artificial Tears, in combination with Equate Comfort Gel drops (active ingredients: Carboxymethylcellulose Spdium 0.25%, Hypromellose 0.3%). The Equate Comfort Gel drops are comparable to GenTeal. I’m just trying to find something a bit cheaper than the Isopto. My 5 dogs (3 are elderly) use about 10-15 prescriptions and supplements, and it’s very costly. I try to save money any way I can.
