    ABOUT Dr. Katie Woodley - The Natural Pet Doctor
    =====
    Dr. Katis is a small animal integrative veterinarian who developed a passion for natural medicine while I was living in New Zealand. Her vet career was lucky enough to begin in the beautiful country of New Zealand. She was able to see how living off the land by growing our own vegetables and raising our own animals was the way to live the healthiest versions of ourselves. Her pets were lucky to have lots of open space to run around in and were always at the beach or the river.
    When they moved back to the States five years ago, her husband, unfortunately, developed an autoimmune disease. As they researched natural medicine options for him to avoid the horrible side effects of the treatment options his doctors were providing him, Dr. Katie realized that she was doing a disservice to her animal patients by not offering these holistic options to them. She began down the integrative medicine route and has never been happier. Through nutrition, acupuncture, herbal medicine, essential oils, and supplements, every animal can achieve optimal health or feel their best, even with a chronic illness or disease like cancer. She currently has a certification in acupuncture, food therapy, and Chinese herbal medicine and is continuously learning about other natural modalities and growing her knowledge base daily!
    She started this business to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care because we need to increase awareness of how amazing natural medicine truly is! Dr. Katie's mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime. One of her greatest joys is the opportunity to collaborate with both pet parents and other veterinary professionals to ensure access to all available integrative options for pet health care.

      I totally agree with you. I’ve tried quite a few remedies, mainly with my dogs, and have save them from getting antibiotics; actually homeopathy works better than anything a vet can give to Lady - she gets a flare up, I get the ledum P. out…by the next day, no lameness. CBD for arthritis stiffness/pain. P.E.A for aches (I give daily, needs accumulative effect) All these thing are alternative treatments. And keep your animals healthy. I’m just now learning what to give our cats :-). Dr Woodley’s video was great! I’ve subscribed also.

    • @thenaturalpetdoctor
      @thenaturalpetdoctor  18 днів тому

      Colloidal silver is another option. We still have to support our pet's internal immune system since most of these issues are due to viruses and a strong immune system is key to help prevent it from recurring.

    • @kerriw232
      @kerriw232 18 днів тому

      @@thenaturalpetdoctor ok thank you so much for responding! Can I ask you questions related to Giardia? Do you think Turkey Tail mushrooms are another great way to boost the immune system? I won’t get into the long storey of why it took so long to figure out our adopted kitty has giardia. She has had it a minimum of 7 months being with us and she is 13 mo old. She may have had it since birth as she showed up at the shelter at 6mo of age with poop on her bum. They never mentioned anything to us about checking for parasites. Not a topic that I had any knowledge on. We just thought a previous stressful home environment. We tried herbals from Amber Natural Z (immune plus + KT Ditty) with no luck and they caused diarrhea from soft stool in the end. We tried S.Boulardii and that caused explosive diarrhea. This led us to the holistic vet. We did 8 ozone treatments plus Fenben. We have done a 5 day round of Fenben, 7 day break, 5 day round of fenben (b/c poop was still soft and smelly), 14 day break … We had a few good firm stools, no smells but the last few stools (every 2 to 3 days RAW fed) have a bit of softness at the end of the log and then a very small patty and the smell is starting to come back. She is finally onto RAW for past 3 weeks. I cannot put her through anymore rounds of Ozone as they are stressing her out the last 3 treatments even with using Rescue Remedy and a very diluted YL Copiaba down the spine (1 drop in a 15ml bottle - use only one drop of this). I am thinking Turkey Tail Mushrooms in place of the Ozone … or is there something else I should look at? I am also thinking to use Adored Beast Liver tonic during the next round of meds. This is the first time we have used this holistic vet (only option in town) and she has said a few things leaving me questioning our discussions. Is another round of Fenben going to do anything or do we have to go to an antibiotic at this point? Her system is just not fighting this off and we are so stressed out that I sit here crying most days…I just want her better but so afraid to cause harm. I really appreciate your help and trust your opinion and all the info you provide to us is so awesome! Once this is all done we will look at the kittybiome testing and FMT capsules. Then if needed, the innovative pet lab feline leaky gut test but it isn’t in Canada just yet but hopefully on it’s way. Do I just go based off her poops to determine if we do the innovative pet lab test or just do it even if good poops?

    Dr. Steve from veterinary secrets suggests a few other options… you can also brew green tea, let it cool, drop it directly into your cats eye. He also shows to make a honey and water solution that you can drop into your cats eyes. Then he shows dropping castor oil into the eye to lubricate and soothe (he even put it into his own eye). @@sandyshores5550 thanks for the reply! I'll buy some and hopefully it will work. Eyes still the same so first vet is no good she doesn't have worms. As for the second vets well they are obviously faking a living I just bombarded there reviews website with pictures... I'll try this eye ointment.
