They also made the echelon, hellcat, pro, and ported model are fantastic handguns, hellcats use a polished double feed ramp system so it will cycle all hollowpoint brands without ftf issues, the gun is just as reliable as a glock yet half the size and comes with better sights out the box, the front yellow sight not only has tritium but also if you shine a light on the front sight for 30 seconds the yellow ring glows green which is cool, amazing handguns

It's crazy how something that was brand new 2 years ago seems like ancient news now. Thanks for the video, GB

Love my Hellcat Pro. It's been 100% reliable so far. I'm a glock fan but the value is insane and it wipes the floor with G48 in terms of features from the factory.

Thanks Graham! Love Springfields. Wish they would have more availability for replacement parts like Glock and Sig. My thoughts exactly for the Echelon and curious to see what configurations they'll come up with. Thanks again 🙏

Love my HC pro, first thing I did was replace the trigger with an Apex 3, also put an Mcarbo stainless striker sleeve in and added a Ceelee cat pro red dot.

Was sold on the idea of the Echelon - but having been let down by the unrealized potential of the Beretta APX systema I took a ‘wait and see’ approach with SA. well … not much to see. I suppose such things are determined by the marketplace. Manufacturers decide to move forward with a platform by the sales performance of the original release - If it underperforms the follow-on plans die on the vine. But consumers like myself hold off on a purchase waiting to see more. catch22 so I bought a PDP

My first carry gun was an x-d9. Cant really say I've bought another since due to the crappy triggers.

I have both the Hellcat and Echelon not to mention a couple of 1911s. They are great guns. Please don't punish employees for corporate bad decisions

Well I just picked up one two months ago. Liked the price for what I get. And I live in California.. we don’t have a lot of stuff to choose from.that’s “safe” far as our expert state government is concerned. I’m really happy with it. Only my fourth gun but my smallest and 1st striker fire.. love your work guys.👍🏼

I'm a big fan of the hellcat if you need a micro style gun. And given that I recently had an instance where I sincerely wished I did have one of those available, there may be a non pro hellcat in my future.

My experience was opposite to most people with Hellcat and Pro. I found Pro version to be more jumpy compared to the Hellcat, probably because of the slide mass. I’m wondering they will launch an X model with Hellcat slide and Pro grip. All in all, I love Springfield for bringing such great products to us. They offered their explanation long time ago about the incident and that was enough for me. There are very few companies I despise. Springfield is not on the list.

HS Produkt makes great stuff. I just wish they'd find a decent American distributer.

I like Springfield products, including the hellcat pro. However, I'm not crazy that I have had to replace the triggers (PDP) because of the obnoxious trigger pinch! The capacity to size ratio is very appealing and makes for a concealable carry piece. There are just so many good choices on the market now that the HCP just kinda blends in....especially because of that darn trigger!

Have the Pro Comp as EDC! Please review. Great gun 100% reliable. The only complaint is the break is about 1lb to 1.5lbs too heavy.

    • @gbgunsmedia

That's an interesting gun but not one I'd consider for carry. I spend too much time indoors or in a car, plus the idea of a comp while shooting from retention worries me

I have a Springfield XD in .40S&W which I bought back in the days when .40S&W was the only centerfire round on the shelves where I lived. It could easily have been a Glock instead, both are IMHO ugly pistols that work well. Mine has never failed to function and I consider it a good purchase.
I really don't understand the emotional hatred for Springfield Armory. I know what they did and when they did it, and it is irrelevant to me. It was politics, pure and simple ( again, my opinion ). People can get over it or not. As long as Springfield keeps making / distributing good firearms, I will continue to buy their firearms.

NO. NOT FREAKING FOR ONE MOMENT.
There are many of us who hated Sprjngfield Armory long before their Illinois fiasco.
No, it's not "just the politics" it's their ethics.
If you understood or cared one thing about how they promote at the consumer level, their borderline illegal practices at the wholesaler level and the retailer level you'd understand and maybe care.
No, politics aside, Springfield Armory is a stain on the firearms industry and responsible industry in any field.
So, if you want to buy their products, knock yourself out. I won't tell you not to.
Just don't think any distaste/borderline hatred of SA by many is based on simple politicis.

One, I wish HS Produkt would use a different US importer.
Two, it's not so much politics for which I despise Springfield Armory, it's their business ethics and deceptive practices. They are a poster boy for capitalism gone bad.
Three, I concede that there are good firearms coming out of HS Produkt. Absolutely. However, I wouldn't choose any of the XDs for duty use. There are very good reasons why the XD line didn't receive military and police contracts outside of Croatia. HS Produkt's Echelon addresses those issues and is a good entry for LE markets.

I don't have anything against Croatia or HS. They have so much competition tho. I have no need or desire for their guns. I'd choose the FN Reflex over the Hellcat. There's always another option to buy if you don't want to support bootlickers like Springfield

I have a Hellcat Pro That I got at Sprotsman's Warehouse on a big promotional roll out From Springfield. It came with a Viridian green dot and a rechargeable pistol light and extra mags.
It seemed like a good value at the time!!! The problem is that it has a terrible trigger!! The trigger has a long take-up, it is very stiff and heavy and a long re-set!! ( Yes I did Check it at the store before purchase) I did not and does not exhibit these traits in dry firing,,but loaded it is different story( Go figure). The heavy and Long trigger causes you to pull your shots, making it very difficult for me to shoot accurately!! Yes I should have known). I have had to up grade the trigger on every Springfield I have ever owned and still own except my Range Office loaded 45 App 1911.
The trigger has improved slightly after cleaning and lubrication with very light oil and shooting approx..500 rounds through it. I bought it for my new concealed carry but it is to difficult to shoot and be accurate. My S&W Shield Performance Center first version shoots way better and more accurately with open sights than the Hellcat. You experience may Vary!! Just a Heads-UP!!

It's a well make pistol. The Springfield stigma has nothing to do with you or your UA-cam channel.
It's unfortunate that people can't be civilized and refrain from offensive comments.
I personally would purchase a firearm made in Croatia. My husband and I have many firearms made in Croatia, many are historical.
Politics are understandable, moral reasons are also understandable. It's shameful how many people act.
There's nothing more important than a person's honor and morality. Opinions can be spoken about in a civilized manner without foul language or rudeness. Sorry to hear about your experience with such...
We wish you and Toya a great weekend. Another outstanding video of yours 😄🙏
