super old comment but just thought id comment anyways, dark below was 100% worth the money, it was only $15 and came with 2 strikes, 4 crucible maps and a raid + 13 new exotics + 60 plus new legendary weapons to chase, one of the best expansions destiny has had even many years later.

I kind of doubt they would add swords as an actual weapon type, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a sword in the raid that a Guardian had to carry, like the Relic in the Vault of Glass.

People like to make fun of Crotas end by calling it a strike, but it still took over 6 hours for the first group to beat it. Deep Stone Crypt on the other hand had the fasted world first completion of all time.

I never played D1, but I know the lore and story well from Byf. Watching this trailer now, during Season of the Witch, this expansion, what Crota did, this was the beginning of the end for the Hive. With Eris becoming the Bane that would cement their destruction.

They make a trailer that looks like the expansion would make a beautiful, compelling, and in depth story, like something out of a Blizzard Games cut scene, but really we all know it`s just gonna be the basic Destiny plot with the Ghost robot saying "Fight off these waves of enemies/this final boss while I hack into this unimportant file"

They said they'd include more of a storyline in this DLC but... if every mission is going to have that type of thing I'll be vastly disappointed, yet unsurprised.

Really annoyed they took these cinematics from the game. They left The Taken King one in, why no these? For new players, when they reach the start of TDB of HOW they have no idea of the context of the missions.

I'm just gonna ignore all The Dark Below in the comments and say that I am actually really excited to do this raid, especially all the new weapons and armor coming out with the expansion, I also think there is new game modes and lots more things to do in general. Now all I have to do is get to lvl 30 before December.

Anyone else think that the hive architecture looks damn beautiful? Especially when the camera starts going down the hellmouth. I know I'm supposed to look at the Hive and be like "oh damn it's scary" but the architecture is so. damn. beautiful.

If you play PVP, you can get to lvl 30 with the Iron Banner boots.

***** If you're 29 with all maxed weapons, VoG on hard isn't too bad if you have a decent group. I tackled it for the first time 2wks ago, worried I'd be a hindrance but everything went pretty smooth.
***** Yeah you definitely can tackle VoG on hard at 29 with good weapons and a good team. I am the only 29 in my ground now and I still survive pretty well :)

Who cares about the game's story? They're always corny... none of the 41 top selling games of all time had a story. Its all about gameplay.
But you, or least least I do, need a compelling, intricate, detailed story to keep me gripped. I don't want some grind-fest (though I'll happily play it for an hour, then get bored).
Destiny sounded, originally, like a game with such a story, and some decent/great gameplay.

So they brought back Crota’s Raid in Season of the Witch. Wanted to see if i can solo it through the lantern section. You cannot. They have thrall spawn in swarms and you gotta grab a light mote. Idk what to do with it…
What the fuck is up with the hate here? Is it just popular to bash the game now? Don't get me wrong, the level design can be repetitive, the story and acting was lackluster, etc., but I still thought it was a fun game, and from the looks of it this expansion may be flipping awesome.
Because a growing percentage of the users are disappointed with the game. They're not baseless accusations. The level design is not just's repetitive, it's a wave-clear game. About 90% is based on waveclear/bossfight. The story and acting most certainly does not glimmer. I did think that the story was going to get interesting when we fly to reef; "Oh my god, a new character with dialogue that's not the speaker or ghost!" And then... we quickly move on, to nothing better. The heart of the black garden, a pulsing black metalloid that bring about a weaker boss to defend it than the vault of glass raid. lol.....
I noticed those issues too, I'm just confused of why some acted like it's the worst game they ever played. I admit, it's definitely flawed and Bungie should've done better, but I've played worse games than this. But yeah, I guess I can kind of see why people were kind of disappointed with this game
Tbh the game was enjoyable. However. it had no replay value whatsoever. I loved playing it for less than a week however as soon as I finished it the campaign the Game finished too. The idea of Farming for hours to level up was not entertaining. I tried to give it a go however it just ruined the game making it ridiculously boring. So after farming I tried to do strikes or raids. It was fun for the first two times however it was just a long, hard struggle which didn't pay off at all and it became repetitive so I stopped there. And lastly the multiplayer.. The games are interesting but not innovative or entertaining. So the idea of spending £30 for just three new campaign missions and the same old stuff is just not worth it to me tbh. with that I could probably get GTA V. For now Im just going to stick with TMCC, thats where gaming truly belongs. (I know its had technical issues with matchmaking but hey it still has way more replay value than Destiny so thats fine by me. At least Halo has class. instead of this DLC bullshit.
***** Oh it isn't the worst game. Of course not. I have the same issue with Titanfall (but Titanfall did not boast the things Destiny did.) Titanfall should've been an xbox live arcade game and Respawn is a relatively new company. 'Next-Gen' has been one disappointment after the other. I don't understand what Bungie's excuse is. They teased Destiny EIGHT YEARS AGO (Destiny Awaits poster; Halo 3: ODST).
