A tip I would love to add is that when considering the size of your locs, everyone should consider making them just a little thicker/bigger parts. I see so many people, late in the game and early on combining locs due to thinning or desired look, all of which I believe could be prevented with a little more consideration prior to locking!

I just started my loc journey on March 1, 2019! I’m so excited! It was time to dive into the deep end. Lol! I started them on short tapered hair cut. My longest loc is about 3 inches long and the shortest, around my sides are tiny coils. I love your spirit and energy! I have subscribed!!!

I had washed my hair after like 3 days LMAOO and my twits are fine they are getting fuzzy and I’m excited for them to loc up . If you leave your hair alone you’re giving it time to do it’s own thing cause you not always putting your hands in it lok

I am getting stater locs next weekend and I stumbled upon your page. I love your energy! I have been a loose natural for 2 and a half years and my hair just keeps growing and growing lol. I know that’s the point but it is becoming so time consuming but I refuse to go back to weaves and wigs so naturally locs is the next best thing. I will continue to watch your vids. I’m about a month in with my locs, how long should I wait to get them retwisted? I was told to wait till I’ve had them for 2 months , I’m currently going through the “rough” stage. I have 66 I have thick hair and I have coils some of mine are still twisted to the root and some aren’t
Adrian’s Snakes get them twisted!! Don’t worry. I like keeping them maintained once a month in the beginning because you are training your hair
I agree! Once a month for starter locs. My loctician wouldn't even loc my hair until 4 weeks after getting them started becayse she said the less manipulation, the better.

Do you let your locs air dry
chrissy m hi! Depends on if I have something to do! I usually give them a quick blow dry if I need to dry them fast or before bed. If I have all day then I will air dry.
What about a dry scalp? My scalp is very dry how long should I wait to wash my hair
caroline maboya hi! Try spritzing your hair with rosewater and adding a little castor oil to your scalp I still recommend a 2 week wash time with a hydrating natural shampoo. Add moisture also with what you use to twist I would stay away from waxes and gels
