Cheater’s fix: LG dryer does not heat.

This is an inexpensive and successful repair of an almost new LG Dryer, model DLE 3400W, that stopped heating just after the one year warranty expired. This is a machine highly recommended by consumer reports. I certainly would not recommend it.
I do not own a multi-meter to test the components so I was looking for the fastest, cheapest and easiest fix for the dryer.
I ordered both a thermostat/high limit switch ($11) and a heating element with both switches ($72) with free shipping and returns from Amazon.
My plan was to first try to replace the switches without dis-assembling the machine, and if that failed, to replace the whole heating unit. Incidentally, the “diagnostic” mode of the LG app provided no useful information in this matter.
I removed the single screw from the exhaust assembly and removed the two switches. The space is tight, but there are two “plugs” that could also be removed to gain better access.
The repair was successful and at least for the time being the machine is working. Fixed for $11.
