In the end, I settled on turning the adjustment 1.5 turns clockwise to raise the water level to the bottom of the door. This is resulting in clearner clothes from my perspective.
I’ve had my LG front loaders since 2005 & only once needed them fixed. Still great. When they need replaced I’m gonna get the single full size unit that both washes & dries - if it seems to work well.
If they work well, keep them! I regret not repairing my older set, I thought I was being smart updating, but they just do not work as well. I have a neighbor with the single machine and she is not satisfied with its performance, for what it is worth. (sorry about my slow reply, I do not get to this back channel often!).

Sorry I am not of more help. They all seem to appear to be a screw atop a hose connection, but probably best to search for that particular machine.
