For starters, Republicans have historically supported foreign military aid funding. I wouldn't say this, but it's way more rational to call the people who don't support the bill Rinos. Another irrational aspect is everyone who doesn't support that aid, supports Trump, who would undoubtedly sign that bill. So conservatives are Rinos, establishment types are Rinos, and even the old school liberal types like Trump are Rinos. Who's a republican? Just the non interventionists? As for the second testimony, "those were not my _words"_ could referred literal words, meaning she was not quoted precisely in that NYT's article, instead her _actual words_ were a bit different. Notice that she did not claim was, "I never said anything like that." Keep in mine that we're dealing with lawyers here. Lawyers know how to skirt the laws about perjury.

(Notice that she did not claim was, "I never said anything like that.") She certainly said that she had never talked to the reporter who wrote the article Kennedy was using as his justification for the questioning.
But suppose she did say those words in a private meeting of the partners in the law firm! I remember Kennedy saying that it was a violation of legal ethics. Does he really think that when a law firm is trying to decide whether to represent a client, they partners can't express an opinion to one another about whether the potential client is ethical?
Kennedy began by asking whether she would be profiting, as a partner of the firm, by the firm representing a client who she thinks is unethical. He takes for granted that she things the PA GOP is unethical. Maybe she does. That wasn't established, but let's, for argument's sake give Kennedy the benefit if the doubt. It it unethical for a law firm to represent a client who may be in the wrong? Or is it just unethical to ask the possibly unethical client to pay for his defense?
