Regardless of your opinion of Todd Greenberg, did anyone notice that when Kent is sounding off Ennis listens politely, and as soon as Ennis starts to say anything, Kent interrupts and shouts him down. Rude bastard.

It's why she is a good host, as she doesn't overplay her hand. She is aware the discussion taking place is great viewing. She is there to set the agenda and stimulate the discussion by asking questions.

highly disagree. michael ennis literally said he believes todd greenberg is partly to blame, but the issue is that people are harassing and bullying him when it's not entirely his fault. same things happen to referees when they make an incorrect decision in a game (especially if it's a difficult decision). hindsight is 20/20 so it's easy to criticize one person when they are in the spotlight all the time. all michael ennis is trying to say is that people need to lighten up a bit and stop bagging todd greenberg 24/7, especially when you consider the fact that literally nobody predicted how big of a financial impact corona virus would have on the entire world. how was todd greenberg supposed to predict that lol. in terms of todd greenbergs demeanour and his intentions for the game, which is what michael ennis is referring to in this video, i agree he's actually not that bad of a CEO. i wont deny he has made a few dodgy decisions in the last few years but for the most part i believe he's a respectable CEO. regardless, it's so rare for a CEO of a sports organization anywhere around the world to be popular with the fans anyway because people just can't help themselves and make uneducated and highly emotional comments about other people just to make them feel better about themselves.

Kenty's on the money here. Ennis declared his bias when he spoke about Greenberg's caring personality at the Bulldogs.
The reality is, caring about an employee's welfare away from work, and providing a conducive working environment is an important quality in a CEO as a boss as happier workers results in higher productivity. But it's only 1 part of being a CEO and has absolutely no relevance to the current financial basket case that the NRL finds itself in.
Ennis also is clutching at straws when he brings up the fact we are experiencing a pandemic to explain away the financial position we find ourselves in (and I say "we" as there are many stakeholders in Rugby League without which the NRL wouldn't exist including players, sponsors, coaches, admin types and fans). What sort of financially responsible business, with an annual turnover as large as the NRL operates on a budget with only 3 months reserve cash in the bank should there be either a prolonged downturn in revenue or as has happened, a complete close down of the business cutting off all money coming in? Not one that wants to remain a business very long in a situation like the one we find ourselves in.
The financial basketcase that we face currently stems from long term financial mismanagement, including by some people who are no longer there like John Grant and Peter Beattie. But Todd has been there and made his own share of questionable financial decisions.
So yes, when this is all over, certain people who are currently employed by the NRL need to join the Centrelink queue such as Greenberg and certain members of the ARLC (not V'Landys as he's just arrived and has clean hands and has honestly in my opinion done the best with the hand he's been dealt) but one thing I would say in Greenberg's defence against the players and in particular Joey Leilua's criticism about his pay, yes I'd agree that given the current state of the game, Greenberg being on $1.5mil is taking the piss and he does need to take a paycut, but I don't think he need to cop the same % amount as the players. Greenberg is still working. He's still waking up every morning and either going into the office or getting on his computer and phone at home (I don't know the arrangement at NRL HQ for officials) and trying to steer the Titanic away from the iceberg. I would hazard a guess that he's probably working harder than he would if this crisis wasn't around. The players on the other hand may be turning up to training, or some sort of training and doing some Rugby League related work, but I am absolutely sure that they wouldn't be going anywhere near as hard as they would were there a game that they had to prepare for on the weekend. So while the players have been given more free time as a result of this crisis, Greenberg has been given less. So he should take a paycut, but he shouldn't have to take the same as the players.
I actually rate Kenty. He gets a hard time but when you speak truths, you’re always going to offend someone and he is unapologetic. Great work Kenty
Maybe it’s the manner he speaks to people. He is always aggressive and on the front foot. He needs to pull his head in and respect the person he is talking too. He’s a peanut.

HowtoEWOK debating doesn’t mean being condescending with your tone of voice. He is rude. That’s why he has a bad rep and rightfully so. This interview shows it perfectly. Listen to his tone vs Micks tone. You need to respect others opinions. Mick was calm and respectful with his tone whil kenty was everything but. Then mick started getting fed up with Kenty completely dismissing micks opinion even though mick has way more experience with Todd then kenty. Soon as kick turned his tone up kented simmered down and became more neutral in his tone. He should always speak to people with more respect then he does. I’ll never respect anyone like him. Carries himself terribly.

Joey Falvo Greenberg isn’t the only one to blame.. the games been in trouble for decades and anyone who tried to change things got punted. Sacking Greenberg won’t change things, they all need to go.. Yes I agree with you , however he is the end of the line in decisions made . Plus he has been there long enough to have turned it around which he hasn't. Plus during his role as CEO expenditure has risen dramaticly. The bonus with this global catastrophe is a clean out of bad situations and he is one of them.

Kent is completely wrong, the commission own the assets, Greenberg is the leader of 1 asset, he should be given a pot of money by the Commission and KPI’s to run the ‘day to day’. Kent needs to scapegoat Greenberg because the Commission structure is innocuous, the Commission could have own Moore Park and or Bank West and then they would have had ‘assets’. Clubs shouldn’t be spending money on stadiums, they should be spending money on high performance centres.

Arrogantly states do you know how it works? "The CEO employs people and if they are not doing their job you get rid of them." Be careful what you wish for PK. How would you rate if your job was put under extreme scrutiny? Your actual performance over the last couple of years? You'd last as long as Ned Stark!

A 12 million $ hole in NRL finances? Where did the money go and who was responsible for the hole? The administration of Rugby League in Australia...every dollar should be accounted for...and there should be oversight over income and expenditure...shouldn't there?
I was waiting for Ennis to hit Kenty and then run and hide behind Yvonne. Funny times alright, things just aren't like they use to be.

The NRL now receive the equivalent of the AFL for their broadcast rights, under Gallop they didn't, I'd like to see exactly how much more the AFL received during Gallops tenure, possibly enough to buy a stadium like the AFL did, Kent would never raise that issue
This a prime example of why professional sports moved away from "giving" former athletes positions in clubs, and Paul is 100% correct.
Keep them in Commentary and Coaching thats it.

Ennis is a great bloke he played at two of my favourite clubs(Dogs,Sharks) But todd obviously is going to get some criticism if hes the boss and he gets flustered in times like this and craps himself but you got give him some credit because he isnt doing that bad in the middle of a world crisis
Michael has a point. These decisions are not decided by one person, experts in different areas will collectively make a decision which is approved or disapproved by Todd

Rugby League was birthed in 1908 as NSWRL with the foundation clubs that included the Roosters and Rabbitohs. The Bears, Tigers, Magpies and Jets were inclusive in the original teams. So my point in the first 37 years of Rugby League in NSW from 1908 to 1945 they went through WW1, Great Depression that went for 10 years and then subsequent WW2. Rugby League survived and thrived. But with Toyota Corona in a space of two rounds there nearly destroyed viability of the game.

If kenty just Listened instead of yelling like a pelican he’d realize they weren’t really disagreeing that much. He just said Todd is responsible but so is a lot of other staff members that make these decisions. Mick also has actual dealing with Todd. He’s not a “reporter” making assumptions based on nothing. Something Kenty does very well. No different to standard media.

Both made good points. Both are right.
So I learnt 3 things. The books need to be open for the public, ready to be scrutinised, clubs included but that's for the club fanbase or at least provided to the NRL. NRL needs to build up it's asset base. NRL has to be more pro active.
Also, please get rid of the six again, the game was good since becoming professional and will keep improving but the six again turns it into a 9s game which there already are tournaments for.

I can't stand PK and love Ennis but Greenberg oversaw what is a fleecing of funds from the NRL..$500,000 a day on administration is criminal whether intentional or negligence. Greenberg was in charge. I think only one club made a profit last year and the administrators spent $180 million on what?

I am fuming that Roosters were down 0/2 and the competition was suspended. Where is the justice? I was hoping they'd be moonwalking to the bottom half of the ladder.
I'm still waiting to hear who is the retirement fund administrator. It would be an appointee of the RLPA. Why weren't the players aware of the shortfall? If it is true the $10m was due to them by now, who no work stoppage? Or is it payable by 2022 as I heard suggested in another video. Something isn't washing with this story.

Gallop was terrible. He was a News Ltd. lawyer who continually undersold the TV rights to his buddies at News Ltd..

NRL has been carrying Titans for the pass few season. Sharks were having financial problems not long ago too. And AFL doesn't have a team in New Zealand. AFL has 80000 (footywire 30000-60000 2019) thousand people on average to a game. The money going to get chewed up pretty quick especially if Todd and company on big pay too.

The AFL subsidies Gold Coast, Brisbane and GWS. Those 3 combined received an average of $25.5m in 2019. The rest of the clubs received an average of $15.9m
