I'm with PK, the system itself is fine, and it works well, the problem has been the inconsistency of charges. Pangai gets 5 weeks for a relatively soft crusher, although it looked bad, then Taupau gets a week for the high tackle that knocks the guy out. Sam getting a week for carry over points or whatever they are called is fine, that's his inability to clean up his game and not have so many offences, niggle in ways that are fine if you have to, but don't pull on shit.
Let's focus our anger on the inconsistency of charges, not what causes the charges, because that's the whole problem.

Normally can't stand Kenty but he's the only bloke making any sense here. The guys who called in share 2 brain cells between em.
tbh, PK did agree at the start the system needs fixing....then he gets blown up at later on for changing his story, when he didn't.....anyway - maybe just create a rule where "carry over points" only apply to like incidents, e.g. careless high tackle points only carry over to other high tackle charges. Possibly adding an instant one game ban if the offender is at the judiciary for a 6th time in a season or something....i don't know, don't want to encourage creative grubbiness more than it already is....but also suspending someone for something as minor as what Burgess is facing (comparative to the plethora of worse things that have happened that didn't garner a suspension...) it's a bit weak...
But the biggest problem is consistency of reporting/charging/grading etc etc, or lack thereof - good luck fixing that.....I do have one suggestion.....i'll do all their jobs for less money than they get now, I wouldn't be any worse at it - so at the very least the NRL could save a bit of money! (i could back up as judge/jury/executioner after being in every bunker over the weekend.....just need to tweak the draw to allow it)

The system needs an overhaul. Utilise someone who has played the game as the match review same as the AFL
Hoops is as biased as hell, imagine those tackles were done by the storm, it would be 100% jujitsu and they should be banned for life.

How do you people not like PK? All he does is call out the NRL admin for their non-stop BS. It's great. Someone certainly needs to do it, and he's the only one I've really seen so far.
Hoops is pathetic - he just wants to boil everything down and talk in "headline" sentences, sensationalizing everything so he can make more work for himself, instead of suggesting how they could make things better. "Blow it up and start again!" "Needs a bomb under it!" It's so painful to listen to. Take note of how he cleverly omits what would replace this system he wants to destroy so badly.
The system may need a few tweaks, but as Paul says, it's the application of the rules that is inconsistent, not the rules themselves. The NRL seriously need a common sense guard at the door, reading every decision that's about to leave. Sure, it might make sense if you follow the paper trail that Burgess is out for hair pulling, but not for the tackle on Moylan. Unfortunately, public perception plays a part in professional sport. There are times when you can't just follow the absolute letter of the law. Sometimes you need to be seen to be doing the right thing.
