    Great tutorial! I've managed to use instanced smart materials on different UDIMS/texture sets by putting them in a folder and then masking the folder. Hope that works for you!

    I really enjoyed this video a lot. I was always concerned on using smart materials because it felt like it was cheating. But loved the process and looking forward to see more in the future. Thank you. I'm right now struggling with realistic wood textures in substance. Would be amazing to see how you tackle it. :)

    Great stuff as usual my friend. 👏🏻 Quick question, is it possible in substance painter to have masks per map in same material?

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  4 роки тому

    THanks a lot!!!!
    Q: what version of SP are you using? The settings of curvature map at beginnig are quite different from mines (and my resulted texture is ugly as hell !!! :o).
    Another Q: ID map make only one color (I check the same as you in te video)... Any idea? Maybe it is a known bug?
    Sorry for my bad english and again, thank you for all your tutorials, my friend!!!

    Hi, Just watching this and really struggling with workflow from maya to substance to maya arnold 6 for render. Im not sure when exporting low poly frommaya to choose tringulate and calculate normals or not, and then in substance whether t use direct x or opengl for baking and im going round in circles. Do you have a video that explains this as ive been at it for days with every combination and i still cant get a good bake/render. love videos by the way, im rendering my characters created in zbrush and want best quality render i can get. Many thanks.

    I find Substance Painter easy to texture but hard to make each texture set look cohesive to one another. I heard it from one guy that you instantly know the texture is made in SP with "substance painter" look. The result looks realistic but at the same time it doesn`t look realistic. Is my assumption wrong? What factors do you think cause this?

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  4 роки тому

      I agree with that. The reason for this is - people (like myself) we just use the library materials and adjust them. That's what most of the people do, so they all look similar.
