That whole dlc seems great kinda wish you could tame your own devil at some point though (I have a hunch that there will be some sort of side quest to do with it in bl4 with fl4k)
Her design is amazing. And from what images we can see during the credits there has been a lot of work to make the japanese/western mix work especially on the enemies, it didn't go through super well on some of the characters in 3D, but I'd love to see an art-book for just this DLC
Honestly, with Rose escaping and possibly being alive, this DLC really has a possibility for a follow up story. Something akin to Rose looking to continue her revenge plot on Jackobs now that she knows she can control the Ruiner, with the idea that there is still another, even more powerful egg that is kept by Jackobs in a facility on a different planet. Maybe have Rose confront Wainwright in a sort of 'pay for the sins of your forefathers' kinda thing.
I love this DLC’s blend of Western and Japanese film influences, especially since both genres have inspired each other over the years with stuff like The Seven Samurai and the Magnificent Seven, or Yojimbo and The Man With No Name from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. So it’s really nice to see them blended together with that Borderlands Sci-Fi flare.
I hope we get more of these Jakobs type secret facilites. That was my favourite part of the DLC by far, particularly the nuke at the end. I love the space steampunk/dieselpunk aesthetic.
I wonder if Rose could ever become a character, or even a playable Vault Hunter, for BL4 or one of its DLCs, being that she disappears at the end of the story.
Anyone else get the same vibe from her we got from Tina the first time we saw her? I know I did. She feels like the next Tina in terms of being so damn interesting she needs to become a permanent addition.
I don't know how to feel about this character. On the one hand, she gives off a cool spaghetti-western/Yakuza blend of style I haven't seen since _Red Steel,_ she has an interesting and understandable - if not condonable - goal, and they got a new voice actress to give her a fresh persona and character of her own. On the other hand, she feels a little too much like Nisha 2.0, we don't get a proper showdown with her (she's barely a miniboss), and her escape at the end means nothing if they don't bother bringing her back (looking at you, Scarlett).
Maybe in the future we will get a Butcher Rose and Captain Scarlett team up, I mean both fights involve a follow up with a massive monster, so the similarities exist, plus a cowboy and a pirate working together fits the crazy aesthetic that borderlands loves.
This could easily be the end of rose's misdeeds. But my inner bounty hunter tells me, that we will see her again most surely. If not...well, a lost chance in my opinion.
Same here, the building is half Chinese half Japnese, it felt really weird as a Chinese. since the westerners must not know the difference, I think this may be only a mistake they made.
i really hope she appears in bl4 or whenever what watcher was taking about actualy happens. imagine if shes even a playable character thatd be insane. like a nisha athena hybrid (western/melee)
I absolutely love the neo-western look of gehena where it is a mixture of the japanese and the western culture, even the movie posters around town are of samurai cowboys which look hillarious and awesome, loved this DLC and its characters
Wouldn't it be cool if rose turns into a playable character in the future? Just like how they made windhelm and nisha playable in the Borderlands pre sequel
Wait a minute! I completely forgot about the green nuke towards the end. When Torgue finally got to blow up the ocean in wonderlands, that nuke was the same particle effect but with more natural colors wasn't it? Wonderlands really is the Pre-sequel to Borderlands 3 is so many ways.
I hope she returns in bl4 possibly as a character, she has a really good character design and sweet abilities and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if she started vault hunting for the money she's not as evil as most villain's, she only wanted to prove her grandmothers work so she could have some redeemable qualities in terms of character
If gearbox sleeps on Rose and doesn’t put her in the next game or two I’ll be very disappointed. Considering she escapes and doesn’t die like I originally thought it does seem like they have plans to bring her back in the future, and by god I hope they do.
If Borderlands 4 still has other planets and not just Pandora then I hope Gehenna returns, I think the wild west-ish theme and tone of it suits Borderlands. Also Butcher Rose returning would be cool, I'd like her to be involved in at least one main story mission or side mission.
That whistle of hers could be used as a subtle clue to her return. My guess is they don't have any specific plans for her but are leaving the door open for future use.
The timeline for all 6 Siren abilities do not line up for her. Phaselock (ava), Phaseshift (Tannis), Phasewalk (Lilith), and Phasemorph (Amara) are all accounted for. Steele's mysterious power is unaccounted but if it was beast manipulation she'd have attempted it on The Destroyer. Phaseleech is available with Tyreen now dead however Rose never displays the leech ability. Lastly the Mysterious 7th Siren very clearly isn't Rose. So I am afraid there is no point in time where Butcher Rose could be a Siren.
@@tnntaronewsnetwork4514 Considering its like 5 years between borderlands 1 and 2, and then another 7 between 2 and 3, it honestly could be possible that Phasemorph belonged to Steele and was passed on to Amara. Considering Borderlands 3 is roughly 12 years after Steele's death and Amara (i believe) is suppose to be in her late 20s (lets say 26-29), then she could have inherited Phasemorph from Steele at around the age of 14-17, giving her plenty of time to learn her Siren powers and become the Tiger of Partali. If this is the case (and mind you this is a MAJOR if) that would mean Butcher Rose could be a siren, or could become a siren after the events of the DLC if the mysterious remaining siren died. (Or if she inherits Tyreen's power). Having said this, I really, and I mean really, hope Butcher Rose does not become a siren/isn't a siren because while I understand sirens are as unique and important to the lore of borderlands as the vaults are, I am getting a little tired of every important character or event being about sirens as of Borderlands 3. I know the DLCs are not as siren focused as the main plot, but Jesus the main story has left me burnt out.
@@gagecowart7157 I’m afraid that isn’t possible. According to the Borderlands wiki, she had been doing her vigilante act since “she was young” which would mean pre-teens if not younger. So there is more against Steele and Amara being connected than there isn’t.
