I had never heard of Exuma before "Nope" and I'm sitting here with my entire mind blown! THIS is pure SOUL They weren't just playing music - they were communing with SPIRITS 😮
The little white boy (that was me) who lived in Nassau at this time first discovered the raw power of music listening to Exuma tracks - amazing sound and amazing musicians - a Bahamian legend!
Saw him "live" at Carnegie Hall on May 5, 1972. Jeff Beck played the main hall and when that was over, Exuma played at one of the smaller capacity venues.
Yea I actually discovered his music through a grand Cherokee commercial where they took Baal it was a pop version of it. I looked for the song and I found the artist and recently I listened to his first two albums and they’re very good 👍
Empty barrels by exuma hits number twenty two in u.k.1973 stayed on chart for a week. The only hit he ever made. we love you,Mr. McCray, rest in power.
Thank you for posting. I love their energy it's so genuine. It's one of those performances where the audience becomes an invaluable part of the music 20:25 Who the hell would dislike?
My Bahamian soul brother # 1. One that knew his Native Lucayan, Arawak, Seminole & African roots. Bahamas Lands. Blessed Rich Lands and peoples that have always been persecuted and over looked. Still we Rise . ^_^
WOW; Thank You for uploading this, I've got all of Exuma's CDs, my dad told me to listen to him, so I did and I got hooked- this is rare footage for sure!!!!

That winding through the crowd reminds me of Ozo Matli's entrance at a small tiki hut bar in Florida - they took about 20 minutes to get to the stage and just wandered through the crowd starting in the back all while playing the Sesame Street theme song.
