In my opinion, songs like this are really important as they serve as transition songs in Maiden's style. Number of the beast was a bridging album between early and later Iron Maiden. It had elements of Killers (Gangland) and Peace of Mind (Total Eclipse) and also in my mind was the foundation for Maiden's galloping rhythm.
In 2017, I parked my delivery truck in a large open parking lot, started playing Total Eclipse thru the truck speakers, then climbed onto the roof to watch a total eclipse. It was epic.
I've always loved this song so much. So underappreciated from what I've seen. Since I was little this song has always stood out to me, especially the vocals near the end and how marvelous the lines are
Iron Maiden were/are the embodiment of the Medieval Age and this song encapsulates that. I'm not a fan but I admire this track as illustration of what the band were/are about.

And it didn't fit the style at the time very well, sounds rather like something boring they would come up with nowadays, or in the last twenty years or so.

This song finally received the appreciation it very well deserved, being a single of its own, and replacing Gangland in the new release of NOTB. With many other Iron Maiden songs, this is one of my top 2 along with Killers.
