@@Vortigan07they won’t retire, they’ll die first. They’ve been in a 40 year pissing contest with Judas Priest. They won’t retire before Priest and Priest is on an absolute roll right now with their last 2 albums.
They are a great band and exceptional live performers to be able to share with the next generation. I took my sixteen-year-old son to see them in Detroit in October. It wasn't my first IM concert, but it was his. We were both blown away. These guys keep sounding brilliant year after year. I wish they would have played Hell on Earth during this tour, as it is my favorite from the Senjutsu album, but the show was absolutely stellar nonetheless. Maybe on the next tour (fingers crossed). Hoping for some material from Seventh Son on the next tour as well.
Lost in anger. Life in danger. The bite in his voice when he sings this. The forlorn harmony that comes after. This is the peak of so many moments in life
Iron Maiden live in another dimension. Not affected by time. These guys are something rare. Rare for a band to release a late album that could be their best.
Bruce is a legend, battled and overcame throat cancer to come back and deliver this masterpiece. One of his best vocal performances ever, and the band hasn't lost a step. Let's hope this isn't their final song, but if it is what a way to go out
@Jason Parlevliet Empire is basically it’s own damn album 😂 It’s very very good but not even my favorite song from that album, the Red and the Black the best! Hell on Earth just has such an intense chugging riff and catchy vocals, definitely a lot more energy than other closers like the Legacy or When The Wild Wind Blows
So many songs on this album make me cry - they are pure masterpieces, from a band that has endured so many music industry fads and changes for decades, but has always remained true and steadfast to themselves and us fans. There will never be another band like Iron Maiden again in our lifetimes.
Dad got me the collector vinyl when it came out then about a year or so later, I was going through it. My best friend and pet died the same weekend and then I got dumped. The night she left I put it on, and it just made cry. I sat in the dark and bawled my eyes out for hours. Something made me want to listen to this song again, this is the first I've listened to since
In my 50's now and still feel emotional listening to my favourite band. Iron Maiden forever!!! I can't stop crying. What a music.... Thank you Iron Maiden.
Glad to know its not just me! Im 50 and I have tears in my eyes listening to this masterpiece of a song! Partly because the song is so moving. Partly because I know the end HAS to be close for this band. And partly because i know that no other band will ever make me feel the things this band has made me feel! God I love this band so much!
I am 44 years old, have been listening to maiden since I was 6 years old in Lebanon thanks to my uncle who is a maiden diehard fan, I migrated to the states and saw them 3 times with my uncle in New York. They are by far the best band in the world that has been around for that much time. And this epic song brings everything together.
@@chef1970md Maiden they are like Pringles lol Once you go to a concert theres no way you can stop : ). Im addicted to there music and i cant wait to go watch them live in Belsonic next year. I might go to RIO aswell if this pandemic will fuck off.
@@noxhirecords I liked your comment. But there's something special about the maidens. Devotion. Since childhood. And considering the band is legendary and most influential. So you better delete your post, mate....
This song is the most amazing thing I've ever heard to see it live was such a privilege, thanks to Bruce,Steve,Adrian,Dave, jannick and Nicko for making Manchester future past tour the best night of my life . We recorded the full show to relive the memory.
1. This song is so immensely beautiful, haunting, powerful, and phenomenal. 2. I believe they have at least one more album in them. 3. Even if they don't, if this was the final track they ever recorded, I can be at peace with it.
Occasionally, a band writes a masterpiece that just has that "last song of the night" feel. It just soars, musically and lyrically. It makes you think about life. It touches your heart. It makes you feel angry, frustrated, sad, hopeful, proud. It makes you feel like you're flying. It makes you feel alive. Iron Maiden writes all their songs like that.

The build up from the beginning of this song is simply amazing. From soft guitar tunes to what Iron Maiden is known for, excellent guitar riffs, solos and Bruce's legendary voice. This band will never sound bad in my ears, it's pure magic what they still can do after all these years. Up the Irons from Sweden!
@@DM-rc4yu It makes the songs feel like actual, entire books or a whole movie when it's parted down with intros, themes, a musical motif. It's truly like entering a new world when realizing the content as a whole. The contemplation of life persists here; where you know it in your soul that the Earth we live on is one of the most bitter, dark and depressing lands to exist. Steve Harris clearly outlines what it's like to stare into the abyss and acknowledge you just really want to pass on and yet somehow have gratitude, rather than have a deep complacency of holding the one "answer" to all the woes on Earth.
@@JuhaniPaasikangas No way what? Maybe not a classic by time but by substance and song writing quality and the meaning given everything happening in the world then and now then YES it absolutely is.
When i heard the iron maiden first album i was a young man full of hopes and dreams now i am a proud parent who s listening maiden together with my two daughyers
I've been playing Maiden since my almost 9 month old was in the womb. This song specifically is like a lullaby to her! Instant calm....Up the Irons fellow metal dads!
I still remember the first time I heard this song. It was September of 2021 and we were traveling as a family to the ranch, seemingly in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. We started playing Senjutsu to finish it as we arrived at the ranch just right after midnight. The song began to play just as we left the highway and entered a dirt road connected to the ranch. All five of us fell into a deep silence in the middle of nowhere, in complete darkness, with no sound but the notes of this melody. As the song ended, my father broke the silence with a simple "wow." I nodded in agreement. As we arrived, I tried to remember the first time I listened to Iron Maiden. My memories of a Sunday morning when I was around 10 years old (Now I am 30), sitting in the backyard after breakfast, came flooding back. I recall my dad turning on the CD player and listening to "Running Free." and since then, it started being my favorite band. The band had evolved since then, and they aged very well. I thought that If Iron Maiden never released another album, this song would be the perfect way to conclude almost 50 years of career.
That sounds like the ideal way to experience this great song. I was gifted "Killers" on cassette when I was 11 years old from my older cousin. I'm 52 now, I've seen Maiden 5 times, fan till the day I leave this realm.
I can´t believe that some guys at 60´s can give us a song and an album like this. I'am crying while i am writing this. Unfortunately, they are undoubtly at the end of their glorious career, only because the time. I'd just want to hug you all and say thank you for company in variest moments of my life. I hope for one more album, if it is possible. If it is not, thank you all once again. My kids will keep the legacy, wheter they like or like. There is no option. Greetings from Brazil!
There will be a few more albums yet...Judas Priest, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Scorpions are all older and still making new music and Metallica and Megadeth are only 5 years younger.
I'm 59 yrs old listened to maiden from their beginning. Their music's not quite heavy but damn I love this. This is iron that will never rust away. Still the greatest metal band there ever was.
Iron Maiden will not even have a slightest idea that i exist in this world. But I'm so proud of them. They teach us the real meaning of "Age is just a number". Came together as a band and now leaving a legacy. Up the irons.
All we have to do as fans is support them and spread their love till our last day. They are truly the greatest band on the planet with respect to other bands for sure. Maiden is on a complete different level. Even though i’ve been listening to them since 2012, I’m so glad that I discovered them, they make me feel special. Thank you Maiden, you’ll always be loved.
I saw them again and like fine wine they get better. Just the fact that they are still together, after so many years, turning out killer albums, is a testament to their talent, resilience, goal oriented all business, no time to take things personally, they are all about the live shows, rhyming, unspooling another classic melody in the studio and the cycle continues. There were bands, but, all fall short to the Iron Maiden Dynasty. Other bands get swept up in the fame, substance abuse, jealousy, in-fighting, etc. Before I go to bed I say my Christian prayer for health to my friends and enemies alike. Also keep Iron Maiden together and healthy for a few more epic songs, more shows, more memories, more reasons to prove the the folks at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame of Cleveland are wrong by not inducting the best live band, continuously playing, nearing half a century. We won't hold our breath, as the three guitarists, the drummer, the singer belts out lyrics. the cerebral Steve Harris mimes every word, creates galloping beats on bass, the IM dynasty will continue getting finer and wiser.
I love this song. The melody, the vocals, the solo parts, the atmosphere, the feels. I just feel warm and happy inside thanks to Iron Maiden. With everything what's happening around us I'm just lucky enough to take a moment and appreciate this wonderful piece of music. Thank you Iron Maiden!
My younger brother passed away last week and this reminded me of him so much, he would have loved this song so much he was a big maiden fan. RIP Brother until we meet again, I wish you could be here to enjoy all the new music that's to come. Sleep well. EDIT: Thank you all so much for the kind words and support. Maiden fans are truly amazing people. Thank you for making the world feel a little less dark my brother would be so happy to see the messages.
I am very sorry for your loss. Praying for your comfort. Thankfully we have new music from Maiden to help you in your grief. Up the Irons, blood brother.

It should be illegal to throw ads in the middle of songs, UA-cam. It should be illegal. This is a masterpiece edit - in reading some of these replies, I have to admit it must be quite a privilege to be able to carry your record player and your CD player with you everywhere you go! The vocals.... the riffs.... the drums.. the absolute perfect IM and rock song ever... I'm a teenager and life hasn't been very great. Lots of ups and downs, but this song was there to celebrate with me during the ups and there for me drown my emotions in during the downs.. really hope iron maiden keeps going on. Nicko has left now, but I hope the band continues.. Truly one of the best songs ever made.
True. Maiden is a proof. The rest of the songs are edited, modified and more importantly styled by Harris, which is why Maiden songs are always unique.
I find most of the songs to long and baldy arranged. There are lots excellent ideas but they are just badly arranged together like this song. I find the beginning of the song to complicated for no reason. A least that's my opinion. After a long wait I find it disappointing.
And you're an uncritical fanboy. Compare this song to anything they've done in the 80s (yes, this remains the gold standard) and you'll come to the conclusion it's mediocre.
@@SwissCheese667 Please... stop with this f***ing thing of the 80s. Enough. This song is brilliant. And my favourite from them is Revelations. Nonetheless, this is Harry at his best.
There’s so much depth and texture in this album, and this song has this vibe of them like knowing this might be their last recorded song. So emotional and personal. I really dont get the people berating the latest albums for not conforming to the sound of the 80’s. It’s growth and maturity, goddamit!!! And mastery!!
This is the most powerful song I've ever heard in my life. I cannot express in words how this song touches me. Thank you so much for your music. God bless you 🙏
I just wanted to say "Thank you" to the greatest band ever. Masters making masterpiece music. 1000s of emotions with this song. This masterpiece will stay alive till the end of the world
You're right about all the emotions in this song: there's love, anger, incredulity, angst, struggle, numbness, repentance, pining for those lost, fear of where the world is heading and acceptance of the way life is
One of the greatest songs in metal history. After almost 50 years of existence, Maiden comes up with something of this magnitude. Uncomparable in music history
Yes I never thought that after Empire of the Clouds they will reach to the same height. I can confirm that this song has similar amount of emotions and and atmosphere so immense and heavy it can bring me to the verge of crying under the many impulses. It's just overwhelmingly colossal and epic. A true blessing.
Can hardly believe it. Can not stop listen to it, 6 times in a row now.. It just gets better and better every time. Emotions running high all the way. What a song, Steve!
Why aren’t they adding this to their set list in this tour?! It’s easily the best song on the album and I think I speak for everyone in saying that this needs to be heard live!!
i was at athens concert last saturday!!i wished that they played this but im not sad at all!!!i got goosebumps throughout all the concert!!new songs are awesome senjutsu stratego writing on the wall!!!I cant just get this night out of my mind!!WHAT A BAND!!!THEY ARE STILL BETTER IN LIVE CONCERTS THAN THE STUDIO SONGS!!!!THATS SO AMAZING REALLY!!!UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!
@@rafamurciano8364 still strange considering they play 3 songs from this album but don’t play what most Maiden fans consider as the best song on the album (it’s also the most watched song on the album here on UA-cam so it’s obviously really loved)
yea i was thinking that too, there werent many songs from the album...im not complaining i mean aces high with the hawker hurricane plane was epic but its unusual for them to only play 2-4 songs from the studio album usually they play the whole album THEN add maybe 3 or 4 classics to that
This is just everything that makes 21st Century Maiden so f*cking good. Steve Harris is the man. Bruce's voice when he sings "Love in anger, life in danger"... Just too good.
Hell on Earth is a piece that lasts 11.19 minutes and not a second is left over. Time passes, you will not look at the clock to know when it is over, but you will be wishing it never ends. Because it will raise your mood; because it is epic; it is melodic and triumphant. You were born to win! The melody pauses and speeds up when appropriate: "love in anger, life in danger" "love with anger, life in danger". It is the best conclusion for Senjutsu. It is reminiscent of The Final Frontier, "When the Wind Blows." But it is not a rehash. It's new, it's original and authentic from minute one.
In my opinion, it's much better than When the Wild Wind Blows. I appreciate the latter song for its emotional appeal, and it felt appropriate for a closer, but this track is much darker and heavier. For Maiden's style, I have yet to see that not be a good thing.
This song is the best song of an absolutely magnificent album…Also this song is the proof that Iron Maiden are the best Heavy Metal band in the world…And that’s it.
@@pulkitarora4388 in my opinion (and most people in a maiden video I’m assuming) yes Priest kicks ass and firepower might be relatively better as new material from an old band compared to what maiden has been putting out, but the new stuff is still great, relevant music and their 80s output is nothing short of legendary. Sabbath maybe the best of the best tho, but it’s close
Now I'm 15 years old. My dad is a fan of Iron Maiden for a long time. He always listened to IM when we were in the car. I really enjoy Iron Maiden's music 🤘
Thanks guys! And to the non believers: It’s actually true, lol. I used to listen to anything but rock, metal etc. I didn’t like it. And today I don’t fucking understand why I didn’t but now I love it 😂
Imagine this song being their last ever, that's pure magic, a great conclusion. I want of course another album in the future, for the moment let's appreciate this one! Cheers from France
If Senjutsu didn't come out, their last song would have been Empire of the Clouds which was also an incredible ending for their career ("The dreamers may die, but the dream lives on"). Now there's Hell on Earth, another fitting finale for a band... But at this point I know that a 18th album would not have a disappointing ending, so their legacy (heh) wouldn't be tarnished... Bring it on! (more likely than we think, since Senjutsu is already 2 years old they might have already some ideas for their next album)
I can almost hear the whole crowd singing this part 5:19 at a concert while jumping and screaming, my favorite part and song from the album, it's just amazing, thank you Iron Maiden!
I'm 25, my father made me listen to Iron maiden since i was a baby and i still love it to this day and will love it for the rest of my life. Thank you dad.
Imagine how wild the crowd will go when this song is played live!! Especially when the drums and the melody kicks in!! I can't wait to see this performed live.
07:43 - just wow. I was introduced to Maiden by my cousin Chris way back in the 80's. Chris was taken from us tragically so young by cancer but i'll never forget and i'll always have a special place for Maiden too. I just know Chris would love this track too. Thank you Maiden. Respect. RIP Chris x
The beauty of this song is the fact that they play a few chords on the guitar to set the tone, and boom, Bruce chimes in with the same tone vocally. Absolutely brilliant. One of their best songs, period.
The melody and change starting at 2:46 and ending at 3:30 is a masterstroke. Goosebumps, Nostalgia and a feeling that only Maiden can make happen. This song. Wow. Long Live Maiden.
The words of Steve Harris are one of my driving forces in life. The last two years have put my mental health in a dark, vulnerable place. When I thought things couldn't get any worse, "Senjutsu" came in like a force of nature and provided me with a feeling of joy, hope and excitement that I hadn't experienced for a long time. All of a sudden I felt alive again. "Senjutsu" was the album that I didn't think I needed as much as I did. My problems aren't by any means over yet, but "Senjutsu" has undoubtedly helped me on the way. Without "Senjutsu", I'm not sure what my life would have turned in to. I have listened to a lot of incredible music over the last year, old as new. Still, no band has been able to move me as much as Iron Maiden. When I listen to their music it feels like I'm being transported to another dimension, a strange dimension that is hard to describe in words. Only Maiden have been able to do that with me. When Steve Harris expresses himself, it feels like I'm being enlighted by a higher force. The fact that he wrote 4 songs for "Senjutsu" is a gift beyond human comprehension. It cemented him as my main source of enlightment. Human race doesn't deserve Steve Harris and judging by world we live in, human race aren't ready for Steve Harris words of wisdom. Luckily, there are people out there who have embraced his words and, hopefully, grown and became happier persons because of it. I hope you who reads this is one of those people. Take care!
Wow! What a comment. I’m sure fans like you keep them going. They have a true purpose in this life. They’ve been helping through both with tougher times + provided just so much fun and joy over the past 35+ yrs when I became a fan. Hugs from Hungary
I am happy that this music and Harris lyrics have helped you get through a very difficult time. I can relate totally to what you are saying. Maiden has helped me through some bad times as well. Surviving this Pandemic has put life into a perspective and though most of Senjutsu was written pre-pandemic the lyrics give great meaning to survival in this world.
My lads are back! A 51 yo Soviet era born bloke who used to listen to IM through bootleggers in the 80's.. Shedding tears at the moment.... True British, and true masterpiece as always! Up the British Pirates!
In my opinion, one of the best songs on the album, and one of the very best in Maiden's discography! I was delighted to hear it live on tour! And the album itself, league of its own! Very few bands out there are able to make such an excellent album. Almost none of the old rock/metal bands are so lucky to release such albums now, when they are over sixty...
I'm 44 years old, never been much of a maiden fan and recently stumbled across this. I'm completely blown away at how amazing this is!! I will definitely be checking out the rest of their catalog but I can't imagine anything being this good or better!!
@@rjonboy7608 Scott my man, each and every iron maiden song is better than all the other iron maiden songs at some point in time, depending on when, where and how you listen to it. It's an infinite loop of greatness. "the angel and the gambler" could be an exception. but its not.
Maiden fans are a different breed. I know, I am one. I my darkest moments on this earth, I listened to Maiden. In my best moments, they were playing. In the year of turmoil we've all had, they were my constant soundtrack. As a kid, not knowing how the world worked, the idea of liking a band so much was weird. It's been 20 years now, and Iron Maiden have been the only constant in my life, and I know that's true for countless others. Hell on Earth is almost a summation of everything they, and we, stand for. TL/DR: great song.
HELLO TO ALL MY BLOOD BROTHERS ACROSS THE WORLD FROM SOUTH WALES, UK. I've been a fan since The Number Of The Beast came out in 1982...I was 11 years old at the time. I'm 50 now, and like you, they have been the 1 constant thing in my life. Through good times and bad, Maiden have always been there for me. They were number 1 in the UK charts the week my son was born with Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter. I took my 6 year old daughter to see them on the X Factour and she absolutely loved that gig. And now we have SENJUTSU which is a fantastic album. I really hope they have another 4 or 5 albums left in them before they decide to hang it up for good. UP THE IRONS.
Yes brothers and sisters. This is the band that has just been so amazing over my 53 years and still they hit me in my heart so hard. So glad to be in contact with so many IM fans. Till a few years ago I did not know many metal heads let alone Maiden fans. So i am happy to see all this LOVE of this one band among many.
There is no feeling on earth like when those lights drop and doctor doctor starts playing. Everyone in that crowd would go to war for that band. It's magic everytime. We are so lucky to have had those moments watching these guys.
Some people here don't understand, that a sign of a group such brilliant as Iron Maiden is, that they will never remain stuck with something. They evolve. So don't seek the 80's, this ist '21 (and further), and they still remain a class for their own - or, as I read otherwhere: this is not Heavy Metal, this is Iron Maiden!
Agreed, the composition of this serene piece of music is emblematic of Maiden's musical style. If it isn't hard enough for you, then I question if you're truly a fan of their music and instead need something loud to listen to.
After a month of taking in this masterpiece, the time is right to put my 2 cents out there. As a snot nose 13 yr old entering HS back in 1985 I heard Iron Maiden for the first time blasting out of some senior’s car. I don’t remember the song, it doesn’t matter. The bass, the drums and vocals lured me in and has captivated me for 37 yrs. As I hit 50 the same month this album came out , the artistic genius that the band put out has cemented them as historic metal icons. This track in particular sends the listener on a introspective journey. It is through our own life experiences ( good/bad, happiness/misery, life/death, love/loss) that this song, this band reaches inside and touches us. Whatever their future plans are, we have 17 albums to enjoy. As someone else mentioned, I pity those who never know the name of Iron Maiden.
I hear ya, The whole album is Solid Gold , 17 bloody good albums with good memories here , just out of school from 1981 for me, A good friend gave me The brave new world cd in 2001, Man , Best Gift you could give a Mate imo. Shoutout and blessings Bradley . Brother, I am now that senior you talk about, Blasting Senjutsu out of his car on every trip, Don't pity those poor Soul's. Let them Hear the Beauty of this album up loud, as you spoke of in 85 .
I'm 3 years younger than you, and IM has also been part of the soundtrack to my life. When Neil Peart of Rush died in 2020, I was devastated. I think I'll feel that as well when the day arrives Steve Harris,Bruce, or any of the Iron Maiden band members pass away.
ok fair, those bands are also up there. but for me, maiden just does it best. Shine on you crazy diamond def deserves the nod as well. love every part of that song
This song is the Maiden I love more than anything......the guitar harmonies, absolutely gorgeous accoustic melody, lyrics beyond belief, the brilliant singing of Bruce, who embraced his lower vocal range.....this song is a Masterpiece, No doubt what so ever !!
Well said, completely agree. I keep wondering if Harris wrote this not long before going into the studio in 2019 or well in advance of that and holding onto it.
@@talismanmia2537 my guess is that he wrote it some time before going into the studio..... It is a song that really personifies Maiden, to me at least!

Steve Harris must go down as one of the greatest songwriters in all of Rock and Metal. The quality of his music has been so consistent for over 40 years now. How many bands are still recording some of their best work 46 years after they were formed?
I have thought hard about this. The only band that comes close is the Stones, but I last bought a Stones album in 1978. They produced the occasional great rack since then, but that's it. Nobody comes close to Iron Maiden. I went to my local burger truck recently. It's run by a metallist who wears a Maiden apron to cook in. He does fabulous burgers, and one of them is known as The Trooper. He does one named Hellfest, but I think he may be up for renaming that one Hell on Earth.
@@brucerouffian2630 Yeah, I could only think of the Stones as well. I bought their last album, Blue and Lonesome, which I think is their best album since the 70s. But yeah, their record is definitely more patchy than Maiden's; they've just been so consistent over the years.
Listen with headphones and your eyes closed. You will then realize it’s a complete masterpiece. Saw them in 83 and I Can’t believe we have to wait till 2023 to see them live again
I've got to say this is my new favourite Iron Maiden song. It's been on repeat for a year. The song before it on Senjutsu (The Parchment) is my second favourite song, again on repeat for a year. I can't wait to see them on tour and I'll be going to more than one date. Best live band you'll ever see.
This songs makes me feel so much emotion.... I had some very bad days recently and listening to bands like Iron Maiden, especially Iron Maiden made me feel good in the end
hellyeah! lot's of people these days complain that Maiden didn't write shorter/catchier stuff on the last few albums, but i love that feeling of those epic tracks - it's like floating or flying away, while you actually just sit there (or stand in front of the stage) and enjoy the music. Awesome.
This album just grows on you after each listen. Every song you think 'could be better' at first becomes a masterpiece after you listen to it again and again. And maybe it's not like 80s maiden. But it doesn't have to be, we can listen to those albums if we want fast paced 80s Maiden. But this album along with Book of Souls are perfect examples of a band that keeps expanding and evolving. Brilliant stuff and I look forward to the tour.
Yes it's definitely a grower - it's a very dense sound on some songs and takes time to penetrate some of the tracks but they seem to be unfolding more and more with each listen.
Many people want Maiden to go back to writing fast-paced, 4-5 minutes heavy metal anthems like they did in the 80s. I'm not one of those people. Like you said: If we want to hear fast Maiden the 80s albums are there for us to enjoy. Maiden of today doesn't write that type of music. They have evolved and it's a pleasure to follow them expand their musical horizons. I can't think of one legacy band that is still around that has aged as well as Iron Maiden. There is a sense of maturity and musical growth in latter day Maiden that I think only Rush have been able to compete with. I know it's the norm to talk about the 7 classic 80s albums when it comes to Maiden, but as far as I'm concerned, the 6 reunion albums are equally as valid when it comes to the band's legacy.
nonstrop repeat 5:19 and I'm crying every time I hear this chorus masterpiece: "I wish I could go back I'll never be the same again Bled for all upon this hell on Earth And when I leave this world I hope to see you all again On the other side of hell on Earth Upon the eyes of good I'm following the light again In between the dark of hell on Earth On the other side, I'll see again in heaven So far away from this hell on Earth"
The year was 1980. I was just on the verge of becoming a teenager. I had $10 of grass cutting money in my pocket and was heading to the record store to see if there was a new Black Sabbath album I could add to my sparse collection. I knew the store well, I had practically worn a path to the “Heavy Metal” section. As I flipped through the album covers, I didn’t find anything that I didn’t already own from BS., and I kept on flipping. Then, suddenly I got by the Iron Butterfly section and there, staring at me with the most gruesome, soul ripping stare, was Eddie. My first reaction was, “wow, that’ll piss Mom off”. The price was good , $9.99 iirc, and the owner knew me as a steady customer and let the taxes slide. I practically ran home to put my new find on the record player. From the very first bars of Prowler, I knew I was hooked! Here we are 40yrs later and I’m still as much of a hardcore fan as I ever was! As I am writing this my Mom is in a hospital room, holding my Father’s hand as he slips the bonds of this life. It has been a brutal 11 month battle, watching my Dad try to recover from falling off the shed and breaking his neck. But, he will soon be out of pain and resting peacefully. I just know in my heart that Clive is there with a pair of sticks, holding a guitar for my Dad. Rock in Peace Dad, I love you!! And as for my Mom, when she saw Eddie on my album cover, all she said was “he looks like he needs a good meal, and a bit of a haircut.”God bless’r. Thank you for helping me through this darkest hour. I haven’t needed the Iron’s more!! UP THE IRONS \m/, ,\m/ (I know this was a long one, and if you made it to the end, drop what you are doing and go tell whomever you have in your life that you love them, before you can’t anymore).
Bro, I can relate. Iron Maiden was what caused me and my dad to get closer when I was an angsty teenager. When I first heard the trooper my mind was blown. I had no idea guitars could be played like that.
Finally a down to earth statement I can truly relate to… I’ve had Maiden with me all through my teens and I’m now 50… regardless of any opinion on individual tracks I’m glad they’ve walked through this life with me
Best heavy metal band ever!!!... For consistency and keeping faithful to their grounds.... absolutely masterpieces of albums through out time!!!.... 3 guitars, orchestration, harmonies, best drummer and bassist section ever....and Bruce on top of that.... Epic!!!
@@maskedmovieman4303 More than that, mate. Because he’s more than a singer. He is a fantastic human being, who pushes harder every day and challenges himself to do a little more, and achieves. And we all short aspire to do a bit more of that in our short lives. Bruce’s life is so much more than just being a singer. What does this button do? It creates legends, that’s what.
There is one thing that Iron Maiden can't do...write a bad song. I consider myself fortunate to have been alive to witness their awesomeness. THANK YOU Iron Maiden for all the years of incredible music and memories!
@@okagron Sad that Blaze Bayley gets criticized for one bad album by Steve Harris. X Factor was great but Virtual XI had too many letdowns. Como Estas Amigos is still a very catchy song.

As much as we love Bruce, Nicko, Dave, Adrian and Janick... When everything comes around it's Steve that rides the train. It's his band, it's his vision that has finally come full circle, and he once again has proved his immortal genius to the world with not only 1 but 4 immortal pieces of music. Thank you Steve for creating this band and giving us all this incredible music for all these years. Our praise can never be enough! 🙏
Except, of course, for songs like 'Empire of The Clouds,' 'Powerslave,' etc. That's all Bruce. Bruce's lyrical influence is huge in Maiden. Let's not forget that. Without him, we had Virtual XI. Lol.
@Zachary LeSauvage I have a hard time with most of the 90s albums. Even those with Bruce on vocals. If someone asks me what Maiden is, I always point towards the 7 classic albums and the 6 reunion albums. I seldom talks about the 4 albums from the 90s.
I HOPE THIS GENERATION UNDERSTANDS WHAT WE ARE WITNESSING HERE. THIS IS A LEGENDARY ALBUM THAT WILL LIVE ON FOR GENERATIONS, LIKE NUMBER OF THE BEAST AND SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON. WE ARE WITNESSING AN ACTUAL TIME CAPSULE. THIS ALBUM IS A MASTERPIECE.
Our own kin aside, To hell with this next generation of weak minded blind sheeple. All the heroes of our human race are not dead. We must educate the people.
I thought today was just going to be a boring regular Friday. You say, "Iron Maiden's new album is out?" Someone's taking the day off to just listen to this album all day. UP THE IRONS!
Iron Maiden and Killers are iconic....I very much doubt this will ever be.....mind you..according to Espirito da depressio, we wont see it anyway...lolol
I heard Wicker Man on the radio twenty years ago and from that moment on I was hooked on Maiden. I was in my freshman year of high school. Immediately seeking out their classic albums and listening to it all old and new ever since. I saw them live with my best friend two years ago on the legacy of the beast tour and now senjutsu has arrived and may very well be the best album since Brave New World. This song feels like the culmination of an emotional journey just listening to the album itself, twenty years as a fan, and their career. I don’t think these guys are done but if they are, what an amazing note to end on. I love maiden and I love maiden fans. We are a great community and I wish you all the best and hope you have not only survived but thrived somehow on this hell on earth. Up the irons!
Can you imagine a world without Iron Maiden? Thank you for everything you have given us.

I hate to even imagine a day when the "r" word is announced by them!!

lucky man!!!
Saw them in Spokane Washington on September 30th. Still kicking ass!

Excellent!
Lost in anger. Life in danger.
The bite in his voice when he sings this. The forlorn harmony that comes after. This is the peak of so many moments in life
He sounds angry and disgusted. Nothing more fitting for "Hell on Earth."
You're absolutely right!
and now they should record entire album live with real Orchestra !
The type of music construction that has us seeing a movie pass by our eyes. They never lose it.
I love this part too
Iron Maiden live in another dimension. Not affected by time. These guys are something rare. Rare for a band to release a late album that could be their best.
The first riff kills me. I listened a lot of times. Always tears. What a beautiful song. This song alone is worth the whole album. 😌

The ending of hell on earth is epic, the fade away makes it a classic but also eerie.
@@rafaelgaray4190 Very interesting, I find it quite soothing and peaceful. Like the calm after the storm.
This isn't their last album. They've got another one coming.

So many songs on this album make me cry - they are pure masterpieces, from a band that has endured so many music industry fads and changes for decades, but has always remained true and steadfast to themselves and us fans. There will never be another band like Iron Maiden again in our lifetimes.
Preach it 🙏
Dad got me the collector vinyl when it came out then about a year or so later, I was going through it. My best friend and pet died the same weekend and then I got dumped. The night she left I put it on, and it just made cry. I sat in the dark and bawled my eyes out for hours. Something made me want to listen to this song again, this is the first I've listened to since
I agree. Many of maidens. Songs. Bring. A tear. To my eyes still to this day

Lad, it's Steve Harris. He'll have them touring into his nineties.
This one is special

This band will never sound bad in my ears, it's pure magic what they still can do after all these years. Up the Irons from Sweden!
Steve Harris is a genius.
They've done this buildup from soft guitars so many times before though. It gets boring after a while but I guess Steve needs his clean intro.

"i was a young man full of hopes and dreams"
I see what you did there.
Best song on the album, here. It's a Steve epic, but it has the triumphant melodic sense and gallop of classic Maiden.
Wow, that sounds amazing, thanks for sharing!
That sounds like the ideal way to experience this great song. I was gifted "Killers" on cassette when I was 11 years old from my older cousin. I'm 52 now, I've seen Maiden 5 times, fan till the day I leave this realm.

Just the fact that they are still together,
after so many years, turning out killer
albums, is a testament to their talent, resilience, goal oriented
all business, no time to take things personally,
they are all about the live shows, rhyming,
unspooling another classic melody in the studio and the cycle
continues. There were bands, but, all
fall short to the Iron Maiden Dynasty. Other bands get swept up
in the fame, substance abuse, jealousy, in-fighting, etc. Before I go to bed I say my
Christian prayer for health to my friends and enemies alike. Also keep
Iron Maiden together and healthy for a few more epic songs, more shows,
more memories, more reasons to prove the the folks at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame of Cleveland
are wrong by not inducting the best live band, continuously playing, nearing half a century.
We won't hold our breath, as the three guitarists, the drummer, the singer belts out lyrics. the cerebral Steve Harris mimes every word, creates galloping beats on bass, the IM dynasty will continue getting finer and wiser.

Nicko has left now, but I hope the band continues.. Truly one of the best songs ever made.
Steve Harris, you’re a genius. What a melodic masterpiece. Iron Maiden at its finest.
SO DO I SAID
And you're an uncritical fanboy.
I'd rather this than rehashing their 80's stuff over and over again just to appease fans and get easy £££
I agree with all you say 100%. This is their best stuff I think and whilst I love all Maiden’s albums the latest are my favourites.
This is the most powerful song I've ever heard in my life. I cannot express in words how this song touches me. Thank you so much for your music. God bless you 🙏

I just wanted to say "Thank you" to the greatest band ever. Masters making masterpiece music.
1000s of emotions with this song.
This masterpiece will stay alive till the end of the world
They just continue to amaze!
You're right about all the emotions in this song: there's love, anger, incredulity, angst, struggle, numbness, repentance, pining for those lost, fear of where the world is heading and acceptance of the way life is
Play. This. Live. Best song on the whole album.
Steve Harris has out done himself on this album, his best writing in years.
I absolutely agree!!
Steve is so magical!!A GENIUS!✨✨✨
Agreed, his songs are the standouts IMO
He writes alot of it but you can't tell me he writes the drums and whips all those solos out his ass and vocals
Do you think this album is better than The Book of Souls?
One of the greatest songs in metal history. After almost 50 years of existence, Maiden comes up with something of this magnitude. Uncomparable in music history

Yes I never thought that after Empire of the Clouds they will reach to the same height. I can confirm that this song has similar amount of emotions and and atmosphere so immense and heavy it can bring me to the verge of crying under the many impulses. It's just overwhelmingly colossal and epic. A true blessing.
Svetlana , you are right. I grew up in Paris and London, but am from Charleston, SC.This song means much to me. Thank you for your comment.

Probably, they'll play this one at their next world tour. Because the Legacy of the Beast isn't about their new album (Senjutsu)
@@rafamurciano8364 still strange considering they play 3 songs from this album but don’t play what most Maiden fans consider as the best song on the album (it’s also the most watched song on the album here on UA-cam so it’s obviously really loved)
yea i was thinking that too, there werent many songs from the album...im not complaining i mean aces high with the hawker hurricane plane was epic but its unusual for them to only play 2-4 songs from the studio album usually they play the whole album THEN add maybe 3 or 4 classics to that
They’re not playing it?? It really is the best track. I was hoping to hear it come October…
This is just everything that makes 21st Century Maiden so f*cking good. Steve Harris is the man.
Bruce's voice when he sings "Love in anger, life in danger"... Just too good.
Dude I love the bass on this. Nothing like it.
Agreed. Easily the most powerful vocal line on the album.
Totally agree , love this Maiden!
The air raid siren!!

Better than Judas Priest?
@@pulkitarora4388 in my opinion (and most people in a maiden video I’m assuming) yes
Priest kicks ass and firepower might be relatively better as new material from an old band compared to what maiden has been putting out, but the new stuff is still great, relevant music and their 80s output is nothing short of legendary.
Sabbath maybe the best of the best tho, but it’s close

It’s actually true, lol.
That’s my feeling too, this one feels like the last song, but in a good way. It’s cathartic.

I was introduced to Maiden by my cousin Chris way back in the 80's. Chris was taken from us tragically so young by cancer but i'll never forget and i'll always have a special place for Maiden too. I just know Chris would love this track too.

"Lost in anger, life in danger"... this is the world we're living.
This song. Wow.

Pretty close yes. Also similar to early 1990's Steve Harris bass style.
I am proud of Maiden as my favorite band. They never gave up and they always perform the best they can every show.
Take care!
Good to hear maiden helped u through a bad time. I too feel their sound is utterly captivating. Like no band ive ever heard.
Wow! What a comment. I’m sure fans like you keep them going. They have a true purpose in this life. They’ve been helping through both with tougher times + provided just so much fun and joy over the past 35+ yrs when I became a fan. Hugs from Hungary
their music is medicine for the soul
I am happy that this music and Harris lyrics have helped you get through a very difficult time. I can relate totally to what you are saying. Maiden has helped me through some bad times as well. Surviving this Pandemic has put life into a perspective and though most of Senjutsu was written pre-pandemic the lyrics give great meaning to survival in this world.

Some people here don't understand, that a sign of a group such brilliant as Iron Maiden is, that they will never remain stuck with something. They evolve.

Beginning of a sunrise bores a big hole in the sky
Not to reason why that armed children are in this world
And fighting in the name of God's way
Mourning bleak and utter waste
The vanity of the world is assured now
Prey upon the weak no more
The spirits of those who are gone
Propaganda of the battles
That are lost or won
And count your blessings still alive
Of those who managed to survive
Inside oblivion of that hell on Earth
All you have been, all you have seen
Lost in somewhere in your dreams
How the angels they have fallen
All is nothing what it seems
And the voices that you hear now
And the voices in your head
Now are thinking of a lifetime
You can never feel again
I wish I could go back
I'll never be the same again
Bled for all upon this hell on Earth
And when I leave this world
I hope to see you all again
On the other side of hell on Earth
Upon the eyes of good
I'm following the light again
In between the dark of hell on Earth
On the other side, I'll see again in heaven
So far away from this hell on Earth
You dance on the graves who bled for us
Do you really think they'll come for us?
Knowledge and virtue, taken by lust
Live on the edge of those that you trust
You think that you have all the answers for all
In your arrogant way only one way to fall
Burning a lamp that is fire in your hands
Taking you further from these lands
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger, life in danger
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger, life in danger

This album just grows on you after each listen. Every song you think 'could be better' at first becomes a masterpiece after you listen to it again and again. And maybe it's not like 80s maiden. But it doesn't have to be, we can listen to those albums if we want fast paced 80s Maiden. But this album along with Book of Souls are perfect examples of a band that keeps expanding and evolving. Brilliant stuff and I look forward to the tour.
Yes!! Couldn't agree more with you
Amen brother. Totally agree!!!
Exactly my friend!!

I cannot explain why my eyes become full of tears when I listen to this masterpiece. The lyrics are deep and personal to me in many ways
Same Brother, this band are like a life companion that we shall take to the next life. We are all Time Travelling 🤘👍
Finally a down to earth statement I can truly relate to… I’ve had Maiden with me all through my teens and I’m now 50… regardless of any opinion on individual tracks I’m glad they’ve walked through this life with me
Very similar to my story.... buying heaven and hell,, seeing killers...no shit...about 81ish..10 years old.. Detroit Michigan
May He ease everything on your Dad sir.
Best heavy metal band ever!!!... For consistency and keeping faithful to their grounds.... absolutely masterpieces of albums through out time!!!.... 3 guitars, orchestration, harmonies, best drummer and bassist section ever....and Bruce on top of that.... Epic!!!
Huge Maiden fan here, but I have to give best rhythm section to Geddy Lee and Neil Peart. Love Maiden's rhythm section as well though. Both are epic.
👍❤️
5:19 to 5:47 Just how DOES Bruce still manage to sing like that at his age? The guy is an absolute legend.
And Living through Throat cancer
@@goldosprey Indeed. Every man on earth should try a bit harder to be more like Brucey. A true role model for men of all ages.
Because he's the best singer of all time.
@@maskedmovieman4303 That too
@@maskedmovieman4303 More than that, mate.
I don't know, The Angel and the Gambler and The Apparition are pretty bad Maiden songs.
@@okagron and Deja Vu in my opinion
@@okagron Sad that Blaze Bayley gets criticized for one bad album by Steve Harris. X Factor was great but Virtual XI had too many letdowns. Como Estas Amigos is still a very catchy song.
Como estas amigo is a dreadful song sorry I got to say that not good.
What? Deja Vu is one of their best songs ever!@@frankfinley1642
Beginning of a sunrise bores a big hole in the sky
Not to reason why that armed children are in this world
And fighting in the name of God's way
Mourning bleak and utter waste
The vanity of the world is assured now
Prey upon the weak no more
The spirits of those who are gone
Propaganda of the battles
That are lost or won
And count your blessings still alive
Of those who managed to survive
Inside oblivion of that hell on Earth
All you have been, all you have seen
Lost in somewhere in your dreams
How the angels they have fallen
All is nothing what it seems
And the voices that you hear now
And the voices in your head
Now are thinking of a lifetime
You can never feel again
I wish I could go back
I'll never be the same again
Bled for all upon this hell on Earth
And when I leave this world
I hope to see you all again
On the other side of hell on Earth
Upon the eyes of good
I'm following the light again
In between the dark of hell on Earth
On the other side, I'll see again in heaven
So far away from this hell on Earth
You dance on the graves who bled for us
Do you really think they'll come for us?
Knowledge and virtue, taken by lust
Live on the edge of those that you trust
You think that you have all the answers for all
In your arrogant way only one way to fall
Burning a lamp that is fire in your hands
Taking you further from these lands
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger, life in danger
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger, life in danger
.
Thanks for sharing the lyrics. I haven't listened to Iron Maiden since Somewhere in Time or Seventh Son .Its good to hear that still rock.
Yes if it wasn't for Steve this band would not exist
Except, of course, for songs like 'Empire of The Clouds,' 'Powerslave,' etc. That's all Bruce. Bruce's lyrical influence is huge in Maiden. Let's not forget that. Without him, we had Virtual XI. Lol.
@Zachary LeSauvage The X Factor is actually a solid release IMO. Virtual XI is pretty bad though lol
@Zachary LeSauvage I have a hard time with most of the 90s albums. Even those with Bruce on vocals. If someone asks me what Maiden is, I always point towards the 7 classic albums and the 6 reunion albums. I seldom talks about the 4 albums from the 90s.
Well said man !!
This is so true my friend…
You are so right my metal brother 🤘🤘🤘
Our own kin aside, To hell with this next generation of weak minded blind sheeple. All the heroes of our human race are not dead. We must educate the people.
Caps lock was on, but yeah i agree wholeheartedly
PMSL...yes it will live on in bargain bins of the future
the vocal range of bruce in this song is just pure magic, this is an absolute masterpiece ... can't wait to listen to it live
This is one of the best Songs I’ve ever heard. Another Masterpiece from the best band of all time. Up The Irons 🤘
and now they should record entire album live with real Orchestra !
Agree, Maiden are really legends.
One of the best songs of their new album but also one of the best of their hole discography! It s just magic! IRON MAIDEN for ever!!!!!!!
I thought today was just going to be a boring regular Friday. You say, "Iron Maiden's new album is out?" Someone's taking the day off to just listen to this album all day. UP THE IRONS!
Com certeza, não só o dia, sempre.
If you see only around 666 views for all new videos in first 30 mins .... The chosen ones who truly love iron maiden
Amen sister
yep, I am :)
I think someone has a brilliant plan!!
This right here is the reason why IRON MAIDEN is my favorite band of all time. Up The Irons 🤘
👍
This album will be iconic after 30 years you 'll see
The world wont have even 5 more years my friend
@@espiritodasinceridade7848 how cheery!
Iron Maiden and Killers are iconic....I very much doubt this will ever be.....mind you..according to Espirito da depressio, we wont see it anyway...lolol
@@Martin-lp4yg if you were Born in 1930 or something maybe you have a right 😋
@@Martin-lp4yg You sound like a 12 year old kid, who doesn't know what he is talking about.. With his "lolol" bollocks.
