    I bought a used Ryobi 48 volt rider a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. Last year I bought a plow to clear the snow from my driveway in the winter! I even added a heated seat pad to keep my tush warm while plowing.

    I like it because I don’t have to deal with gas, oil and sometimes the air filter and repairs and it’s quiet and fits a budget me and the beautiful wife like we are very frugal not too expensive but still gets the job done.

    You may think I'm nuts. But, I bought an EGO Power+ AB2101 21-Inch Lawn Mower High Lift Blade and filed it to fit the Atlas 80v mower. It uses a little bit more battery power, but the vacuum is way better which means a better cut. This blade is for bagging and side shoot only. Not for mulching. Just thought I'd share.....

    I bought an Ego battery mower last May 2020. The battery did not charge after 90 days. I returned the mower to Home Depot and purchased the exact same one. The Ego has two blades. It is the best cutting and mulching mower I have ever had. I will never go back to gas mower. Start up is always easy now.

    When you showed that storage mode, it was definitely a "Duh! (I could've had a V8)" type moment. I never even considered that without gas/oil, a mower could just get bundled up and stashed away. Thanks for the informative video. If my Honda gas mower ever dies, I definitely want to get one of these, since I like HF stuff anyhow.

      Careful there, the mower stores indefinitely, it's the BATTERIES that die. I'll stick with gas.

    I bought the same mower for my dog yard. I also bought a YZCT waterproof cover to leave it fully assembled outside. After two summers it still works. What I don't like is manufacturers using different batteries as I slowly convert all my machines from gas/corded to rechargeable (Atlas, Worx, Greenworks, Juiced and BMW).

      I completely agree with you and your Honda. Have a neighbor with two Hondas (used to do yard maintenance for a side gig) and they both just keep going. They're expensive, but they just keep going. The self-drive on the Hondas is the best around. But if it gives out, going electric will not disappoint you I'm betting.

    Just bought one a couple of days ago.....it's definitely a great mower....my only complaint is that the battery is trash and only last about 40 to 45 minutes.....plus my battery only reads 3 bars when fully charged instead of 4 bars....with that being said I recommend that you purchase a second battery for the other slot or purchase the "rapid charger" instead of the basic charger....either or.

    • @ThatKiltedGuyDIY
      @ThatKiltedGuyDIY  2 роки тому +6

      I would say 45 minutes on one battery is pretty good. Two batteries would last you an hour and a half so I wouldn’t complain about that at all. If you have more yard than two batteries can handle I would say you probably need a gas mower and a riding one at that

    Electric mowers are nice for personal use just not good for commercial normal charge will last up to 2 acres per charge and 3 plus hours to charge on a electric zero turn now the electric trimmers on the other hand are amazing I went to electric trimmers and will use maybe 2 batteries a day and just charge them when you get home or buy an adapter to charge them in your truck

    Nice job I purchased the atlas 40v chainsaw and pole saw because last summer if you purchased a new 5 hour battery you could choose a free tool so I was looking for a cordless chainsaw but after looking at dewalt, kobalt and a few others. I saw the atlas line. I had to buy the charger but then I figured having another battery would make sense instead of just one battery. And since I’m not as young as I used to be a chainsaw and a ladder wasn’t really worth the chance of starting a career in acrobatic’s so I went back to harbor freight and bought the second battery and chose the pole saw.

    Only reason someone would have reliability issue with a gas mower is a. They bought a cheap mower like troy built, craftsman, so on, and b. They have failed to maintain it. Iv had my Husqvarna self propelled mower (has a Honda motor) now for 4 years. I have changed the oil 2 times and ya that’s about it besides sharpening blades. It has auto chock so don’t have to deal with that, no fuel shut off, a right and left self propelled throttles making it amazingly easy to go around trees curbs, and make u turns. Has the hose attachment so you can hook up a hose after using it and makes it easy to clean. The best part is it starts every time. The mower before was a Honda mower, only reason she got replaced was because I let a neighbor use it and he thought he could mow down boulders and bent the crank shaft. 10 years old changed the oil every few years and maybe a filter here and there. People stop buying cheap mowers and it’ll change your life.

      @@manny6584 that may not be wise. when you run all of the fuel out....there will always be residual fuel in the very fine passages of the carburetor fuel lines. That (!) is where the old gas will oxidize and turn to varnish if left for weeks. That will clog the line and make it extremely difficult to restart months later. Better to have a full tank of gas PLUS add fuel stabilizer and run the motor for a minute or two to coat the fine passages with the stabilized fuel.

    I can’t get behind electronics from harbor freight. Only a 90 day warranty tells me they don’t believe in their products. $250 or $320 for self propelled mower w no battery. For $150 more the Kobalt 80v has a 5 year warranty on the mower and 3 on the battery. Plus it includes 2 batteries and charger.
