check out my original unboxing video from two years ago ua-cam.com/video/zbpqUCzupw0/v-deo.html
Thanks Tim I saw both your videos of review on this machinery and you answered those questions I had. Great video! Thank you sir
Thank you. As a shortie of 5'4 good to know the design like many DeWalt tools is for taller people. I noticed this on my impact vs a makita ones. The button position and vibration was better than on my xr.
I am using mine today. About 6 months after purchase, one of the batteries stopped taking a charge. DeWalt sent me two new batteries! Note, I only use it for my main yard, and I use my gas mower to other areas on my property.
Good they covered it but I did get a few comments from folks like you Jake that had battery issues I wish that would happen less often
Thanks for update how are string trimmers holding up I have lost 2 of 60v non attachment capable ones now
My problem with this mower is, at the beginning it would run nice and quiet and rev’d higher when needed more power, but now it’s always reving high continuously and drain the batteries lot quicker than before. Have you had any such issue?
I'm 6'2 as well, honestly most mowers I've used it feels like i have to slouch to mow the lawn and your review honestly is a plus I'm trying to use weekly basis in suburb locations.
Ego push mowers are good for tall people. I am 6’4 and have no issues with the ego.
Great and honest review.
Can you comment on the difference in deck depth between the model in this video and the models they stock currently at Home Depot? It looks like they’ve made the decks shallower, and I’m wondering if there’s a performance difference.
I have and electric mower, had it for 5 years and it full out stopped working for me the other day. A few things I have hated over these last 5 years using an electric mower, having to constantly change out the battery maybe every 30 min, and the amount of cutting power it has, cant handle taller grass at all. So...I went back to a gas powered mower and I already like it more. seemed stronger and didnt have to stop midway through a lawn cut to change out a battery
I just purchased a #DCMWSP256U2, RWD unit., Yes deck is lower, I can not compare to any other unit (1st battery mower I have ever had), But I do like how the handle folds up and I do think that it has a motor just to turn the wheels is a good idea. the One hand height adjustment is very easy. Controls seem fine.... I have not cut the yard with it (snow still on ground).... Hope this helps
Thanks, i am looking to buy this new model ( same , first time battery owner ). Still hesitating of the new dewalt or the Ego, i'm on dewalt platform, it may be a better buy with the dewalt.
@@SEBTECHDIY ok 1st time...
Amazing
I am on the lowest walking speed...
As it hits thicker grass the motor goes faster....
Really cool that it as two blades on it...
Also having a motor for movement & a motor for the blades is great...
Uses two 20v batteries
They are at half after doing both front & back yards
Been rained on rode hard and put up wet. Great review
Thanks beth
Bought the first one used it six times and it died! Contacted dewalt after months of back and forth they sent me a new one-used it a total of 8 times ona small level yard-now even though the battery shows charged and mower starts it immediately quits running when I try to engage the self propel feature. 😢
Nice video. Just picked one up from Home Depot on clearance for 249.00. Glad to hear your review.
Enjoy it
So did I, could not pass it up as it was marked down from $549.
Sold the 12 year old Toro for $175 , so $74=new DeWalt
The best part: I can flip it on it's side top hose the bottom off.
Great video!!
super! have you got a review of the 60V mower? going to search now or later :)
Anyone used the MTD blade adapter kit and add an MTD blade instead of dewalt?
My DeWalt battery operated mower worked great for 3 months. Then it started having revving issue like hchoudry had, and eventually got to where it would run for 30 seconds then stop. I checked blade and it was bent so I replaced it, but the problem remained. So Home Depot exchanged me for a new one, and low and behold, after a few months it did the same exact thing. But DeWalt will not fix it under warranty because they said I had it too long. They want me to take it to the DeWalt service center that is an hour and a half a way (3 hours round trip), then leave it 2 or 3 weeks and then travel 3 hours round trip again to get it paying an unknown amount for the repair. DeWalt has zero support for customers wanting to try and repair their own and refused to do anything to help make this right. I mean you can buy parts, but they have no manual available to explain what sensor or mechanical issues might cause this problem. And now that you mentioned there as a history of manufacturing defect that caused very problem I am having, it even makes me angrier that they refuse to do anything to help me. Neither made it through more than half a season.
love mine. no complaints
Same here
I'll never go back to gas
I actually gave away 2 gas mowers recently
I mow my sisters lawn with one. She has a 25 x 60 lawn. It runs out of battery if wet. It cuts. Not for a big lawn or places power is needed.
Why has no one done a review of either Dewalt #DCMWSP650Y2 (60v) or #DCMWSP256U2 (20v) ???
I have the same question. People don’t seem to post these reviews based on model #, which is tedious since there are a few of these at this point.
I’m also suspicious of how the deck is so shallow looking on the newer(?) models…
Has there been any stated reason as to why the issue happened with the unit not running so long? I started having the same issue not too long ago & I'm out of the warranty window, but I'm willing to work on it if it's something that can be fixed, can barely run for 10 min without the self-walking
currently have mine apart 2 years old motor shaft bearing is wasted unit is loud and goin into shut down i would not recommend this unit ps i have a 1/4 acre and cut maybe every 2 weeks
Woooo Dewalt 😎
the bottom of mine is rusting
So,we’re not gonna talk about his dog getting beamed out by Aliens ? At 2:51 he has a dog,at 2:52 ,dog gone !
dude I never noticed that before, her name is dede im not sure the aliens would keep her she eats too much :) thanks for the great laugh
I have dewalt tools with a few of the 5ah batteries. Would you expect 2 5ah to get about 30 minutes run time?
I have a small backyard and was looking at buying a used one of these. They never include the batteries so I was curious if the smaller batteries would be sufficient.
In my personal testing I think you would get closer to 20 mins with 5ah but the main issue I found with using different batteries than the 10ah ones that come with it is the decrease in power
@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP Good to know. I assumed the smaller battery would just lead to shorter run time not decreased power output.
I have a truck full of DeWalt battery tools...weed eater, chainsaw, blower plus nail guns, drivers, saws all, worm drive saw ... We just used the new mower and I couldn't be happier! No gas, no pulling the starter rope... Always have backup batteries charged and ready... Worked seamlessly!
9 or 10 Ah for best performance

Are you serious that a Toro gas doesn't hold up. A Toro will last 10 years at a residential property if you take care of it. Just take care of your equipment. You are the type that drops your phone on concrete then blames the phone when it breaks.
Mine died today, just under 3 years old. Would not recommend, which is unfortunate. Shouldnt have a 650$ mower die after 3 years.
Complete garbage, not even a year old, starts then shuts down after 3 seconds...complete runaround from dewalt and home depot. Frustration overload. I recommend run away as fast as you can.
Did you try changing the blade?
Had ours for 3 plus years and just tried sharpening the blade. Apparently it doesn’t like a blade slightly out of balance. It would start and shut down after a couple seconds.
Replaced the blade with new and it runs just fine.
