- This is Jamaica's Biggest River Food Festival! Wild Hog Cooked down in Magnum tonic wine sauce! crazy! Curry goat, curry lobster, curry crayfish, curry conch, curry chicken back, goat soup (mannish water) bussu soup with conch and crayfish, brownstew chicken, ackee and saltfish (our very own National dish) red herring fritters, corned/salt pork and ackee, salt mackerel run dung rice and peas, fried plantain and more!
This event is called Pon De River! The ULTIMATE River Food Festival! Every Easter Sunday, started in 1997 and still going strong! Add the next staging to your calendar to experience the ultimate river food and vibes! (20/4/2025)

Everything looks so good. I am feeling a sense of intense nostalgia. On that property at Rafter’s Rest, are 9 beautiful unobstructed ocean view villas. I used to rent villa #1 back in 1994. The good old days, swimming naked on a private beach, then lunching at the restaurant.
Now I am living overseas. Time to make plans for returning to a simpler way of life.

Man I miss all that good food. I am a jamacian living in America in Tallahassee Florida . And I will never forget my frist time going g to.protland with my grandmother. I was only 6 years old, but I made sure I took in all of the beauty of Portland. I remember I was visiting my cousin Diana and the rest of my family from the UK. I will never forget the way that darkwooden floor was gleamed with luxury life.the Kardashians would have given up their right harm to life in such a moment. I love my country and the people. ❤❤❤

The one issue I have is stirring the goat with the bamboo shoot. I do understand that this may be a customary thing; however, a very dangerous choice. Look at the video and see the bamboo string peeling off. That last thing you want is bamboo stings in your food or for some customer to swallow it.
Other than that, this video, the food, I wish I was there to taste every dish. Keep up the great work. Keep this beautiful festival alive.
