@amethyphoenix Helmet to Helmet is a new rule that is almost physiologically impossible to avoid. Plus, offensive players initiate contact with their head all the time. The rules make no sense, when you want to play good clean football. Look, these guys are gonna have brain trauma...soccer players have brain trauma. It's the sacrifice of our modern-day gladiators.

Yeah if the quarterback still has possession of the ball during the play he can get smoked but no helmet to helmet hits or anything unnecessary to cause injury. If the quarterback back passes the ball you can’t hit him unless it’s literally leaving his hands but usually with follow with a roughing the passer penalty called on defense

As a woman ok guys I'm learning this game for my husband so if a player is defenseless you need to let him catch the ball, then tackle him? Information would help me.
That rule is in place to protect players. You don’t necessarily have to wait for him to catch the ball just don’t murder him. You can make a play on the ball or disrupt the catch but players aren’t allowed to murder the receiver before he gets a chance to catch the ball
i see many plays this weekend were the QB was hit very hard one was throwing the ball no helmet to helmet and there was a penalty because he was considered defenseless ? The flag was for defenseless player ?

Take them out of the game. That's it. Throwing penalties for hits is ridiculous. Everyone knows the dangers now. Either play or don't.
