What a treat to see this rarity. Never heard of this, let alone never seen it. I have been focused on building my Mays collection. Still under-appreciated by the hobby in my opinion. Thanks for sharing Rick.
It shouldn’t be a 2.5. I’m not sure they knew how to grade these cards This is probably the first meadowgold Mays card they graded. When I bought it, the grade didn’t matter. I would have been happy with just the authentic grade.
Great rare Willie card! I've got the Willie Mays record only mine is "game used" as it has the center hold punched out. Beautiful Matthewson photo. Thanks for sharing Rick!
@@ReindeerStudios lol what’s funny I’m the same way with dodger cards. I don’t own a Koufax, Drysdale, Reese, or campy card. The only Dodger player I collect is Jackie.
Great pickups Rick! I love your Mathewson and Mays collection. I'm slowly moving away from rookie card collections to more of a pre-war direction. I was watching a documentary last night about the New York Giants McGraw era. Curious to know if you have any Charlie Faust memorabilia?
I wish there was a way to put back the little circle for the hole in the record without damaging the record. I've had a record like that of Bill Mazeroski from 1979 that I played when I was a kid. I bought the set of 12 records on eBay a few years ago (1979 CMC Talking Baseball Cards) but the holes were never punched out so I never actually listened to the other 11 records.
Glad you are having beautiful weather unlike Florida. Anyway love the Mays , have you ever seen cut out of all four players?. The record is really neat, as I remember Marty Glickman as an announcer and if I remember right as a Jew he was denied running in the 1936 Berlin Olympic games for the United States as a sprinter. That Matty type one is incredible!
These records are pretty easy to find. In the early 80’s a hoard of them were released to the public. The mays record is supposed to be short printed, but you can find his record on ebay.
Holy smokes, bad enough you got me into the food and beverage cards, now I want some photos! Really enjoyed your write up in Mangini’s newsletter on the different types of photos and how they are categorized, really cool stuff
Good video. I actually found the original photo used for the Meadow Gold Willie Mays card. I'm certain the seller didn't realize what he had, as he let me have it super cheap. I originally didn't even know what it was used for until I did some research, but I knew it looked familiar and I had seen it somewhere. I found out it was used for one of his rarest cards.
The Christy Mathewson photo is incredible, just incredible. Such a great picture of him. The hand cut Meadowgold Dairy of Mays is really cool! Really nice to see the printout of what the carton would look like too. Thanks for sharing!
Great stuff Rick. I've been wanting to get that Aurovision record set for a while but been putting it off for quite a while. Your mays looks very sharp and it's nice that it hasn't been punched out. From what I understand that mays is considered a short print. Love the background my friend
No same record. Apparently a hoard of these were released in the early 80’s there is a test version that looks exactly the same except for the stats on the back that came out in 62
Hi Rick. Really awesome items. That Meadowgold Diary of Mays is really nice. Thanks for sharing these cool items.

I agree on Mays! Good for me since I collect him. Hope you have a great week

Thanks!
Great stuff Rick, love the Mathewson photo and that Mays record is really cool!
Thanks!
AWESOME! I fall into that Willie Mays Fan, I am surprised they gave it a 2.5 with the way they hammer cut cards. The Rose and photo are cool also.

I do have that Rose. Can’t believe I have something you have! Winning!
Great meeting ya Rick and great channel!

Incredible showing as expected Rick wow
Thanks Adam!
Hey Rick. Remember the Spider one would use in a 45 record? Good stuff. Thanks for the video.
Great rare Willie card! I've got the Willie Mays record only mine is "game used" as it has the center hold punched out.
Beautiful Matthewson photo. Thanks for sharing Rick!
Hey I have that Aura record. :D I think it's the only Willy Mays "card" I have. Love that Matty photo too.
Only one Mays! I might have to send you one.
@@vintageoddballcards6103 no, don't do that. I've never forgiven him for the 1954 world series catch. 😂

Awesome my friend yeah boy

Love great day videos! Cool stuff!
At my age is a great day to be alive lol

Sammy I don’t have any Faust items. You can’t go wrong picking up pre-war cards.
Very nice cards Rick. Thanks for showing
Thanks Peter!
Thanks for sharing your rare Mays card also the Matty photo.
Thanks Orlando! Always love sharing Mays cards
Awesome!!!
Thanks Tony!

I remember listening to the records as a kid. I wasn’t impressed. But, it was a cool promotion.
Sick Mays!
I agree!

I haven’t seen all 4 player panel. I’ve seen a 2 player cut out.
Its always good to watch another VOC vid.
I agree! Lol
I wonder how many of the records survived and are still out there. That is really damn cool Rick.

Really like the Milk Carton cards, love the food issue and merchandise and refreshing to see the ad you printed out!
Thanks Bobby!

Really cool Meadow Gold Mays! Interesting your record had a business stamp on the back. Always love your great photos.
I think you were able to purchase or redeem these records everywhere. Probable a giveaway at a amusement park.

Thanks! I hope you have a great weekend.
Nice card. What are some old/affordable Mays cards that a beginner could pick up on a small budget? Thanks
I like the 1968 Topps game card or the deckle edge cards. Both are affordable
That's a nice Mays! I want the Koufax one. Lol😂
The Koufax is a tough one to find

I heard about the Mays being short printed, but his record is not hard to find.
You just cost me some money buddy!
That's the ultimate compliment by the way!
Ugly or not that’s still an awesome Willie Mays. As was the Christy photo.
If it’s ugly and oddball I’m all in!
Never seen it before, very rare indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
I didn’t know they had those record premium! Are those different than the Aura records?
No same record. Apparently a hoard of these were released in the early 80’s there is a test version that looks exactly the same except for the stats on the back that came out in 62
@@vintageoddballcards6103 never knew those came from Harmony!
No such thing as an ugly Mays card lol sweet Matty photo great job Rick take care bud👊✌
Thanks! I agree! Ugly and Mays don’t belong in the same sentence.
@@vintageoddballcards6103 @rudog21 I don't know, the 61 Topps Mays "mugshot" is a bit rough. LOL
