This is honestly my dream car. Every car review for this car says its a pure drivers car and almost every review says its the best M car to drive in years.
I've driven the E92 M3 on a track before and I wasn't sure how there could be anything that felt better than that. Hopefully one of these days I'll be lucky enough to experience the 1M because it sounds like quite an experience. Awesome review guys!

@djmixmac nope this one uses a Bosch HPFP, the one with some issues was a Siemens model. Bit of failed manufacturing at Siemens if I recall correctly. The Bosch model has a little bit higher presure as well I think. Well atleast thats what the car in the Netherlands comes with, the Bosch HPFP... Guess it would be the same for the States since its an M.

what's keeping me from jumping on this one is the fact that it's a turbo... till stuck in the high revving NA mode i guess... and doesn't it seem a bit tall? i saw a tester a few months ago and it looked like it was on stilts...
@BiggWormdpg I already used the price before taxes. Price including 19% VAT is 50,000euro (71,000USD). The only explanation I can come up with is that more competition and lower brand value in the US market drive prices down.
@eeeen321 I will take the time to point out that Chris Harris of EVO Magazine recently said the all-new M5, which uses the same powerplant as the X5/6M, agreed that it sounded a bit like a Ferrari 355. But you know better, right?
I am sorry FLD, but I can NOT take anyone serious who said the 4.4L 500hp/555tq twin turbo BMW v8 sounded like the 5 valve/cyl. 3.5L 375hp/268tq N/A Ferrari v8. That is crazy talk, crazy crazy talk.
almost no engine/exhaust footage/sounds? all voice over? some trackside audio would have been nice...glad the car is what people have been looking for..the price is gonna be silly for that small a car though...
To be honest I don't get the 1 series from BMW, nevermind the 1M; BMW already makes a real sport car the Z4 and between the 3M and Z4, what's the point for the 1M? I have no doubt it is a great car, but I still buy an used version of a 3M which would be still be better than a owning a 1M series.
All this for the low low price of... 50 grand! I'd go out and get a E46 coupe and put 10k in mods under the hood. Fuck brand new cars. Still have 15k in my pocket.
Make Way For Noddy..... er, I mean the 1M......... Seriously, this looks more like a noddy car then any other 1 series Coupe!!! But I would buy it! Well I would get an M3 actually. Or the new M5 when it's out. You just don't know weather to praise or shoot whoever designed the 1 series coupe??
MIT engineer with no GF or just a German Dipl. Ing. i would say.... The problem with the 1M is the pice. For the same money you get a well equipped 3 series with a powerful engine. that gives you much more car.

@Molo9000 the german price is with taxes included, where the US price is without taxes. i think every state has different taxes.
@eeeen321 the 4.4L BMW v8 is 555hp/500lb-ft not the other way around.
@Molo9000 there might be a spec difference and the tax on cars depends on the country
