    The first video you made on this subject really changed things for the better for me, and this updated version is even more focused and effective imo. Such a great resource -- thank you Edward!

    Good tips, brother! Being genuine and providing as much value as you can is key!
    And the last tip to other creators - keep bettering your craft and knocking on doors. Things will come together.
    Cheers!

    Hey Edward! That’s a really nice video and it helps me a lot. Thanks ;)
    I’m just starting and had only a few clients from friends. Therefore I’ve got no idea how much I can make my future happy customers pay for my work. Is there something like a rule of thumbs?
    Thank you!

      I think its all really relative to the location you live and how much experience you have. The best way to do it would be to look up some similar videographers in your area and try to find out how much they are charging

    This is golden advice my man!!
    Got a quick question on the spec ad.
    Are these ads watermarked? And has any business ever “stolen” them without paying you?
    I recently did a shoot for a Brand I wanted to work with and shot some test photos with a watermark, and they cropped it and used it on their social media and never got back to me!
    Any suggestions?!

    • @edwardleefilms
      @edwardleefilms  3 роки тому +2

      This is a great question! Honestly, that is a risk you take with doing spec work. If a brand ghosts you like that without giving you credit, let them know it's not cool and move on from them. Then leverage that same content and work with a similar brand in that same industry. Maybe one of the brands competitors. You have to keep in mind giving them the content for free is a trust on both ends. If they screw you over, I wouldn't want to work with them even if they did hit me back. Just add the portfolio piece and on to the next one. I hope this helps!

    1.) Is there a specific way to search brands in your area (state) on Instagram besides scrolling through ads that pop up?
    2.) If you do reach out to a brand out of state how would you end up working with them as they are in a different state and are just starting out so might not have money to pay for travel for a videographer? Would they send you products and expect you to film the video on your own with local talent that you find yourself?

    • @edwardleefilms
      @edwardleefilms  3 роки тому +1

      1) Try looking up your specific city on the places tab on Instagram. See the posts that come up there and try to find which ones are brands.
      2)Yes, this is common. A lot of brands will send you product and you put the shoot together in your own location. Then you deliver the content to them.
      Hope this helps!
