- One of the biggest questions a filmmaker can ask - How do I get clients? Today I go over one of the most effective ways we have found for getting video clients. I cover a few different methods such as Wistia Soapbox as well as a more in-depth method that works much better for us. Excellent video. I instantly subscribed after watching this as the value and creativity in this process is outstanding. I do have a question, how are you getting the videos to play in the email? Every email provider I try this with just shows the video as an attachment and not playable in the body or I have to create a link to UA-cam?
There's quite a few methods to this, typically I will just embed within the email. It also depends on which email software you are using.

What email software you can use to embed the video? Cuz Gmail and Apple Mail all makes a link instead of embedding
@@UnfoundxEstasy123 I've been struggling myself to figure out how to embed the videos via email. All my tests with Gmail just sent attachments & do not show thumbnails!

Hi mate, everytime I add the video to the email it gets added to the attachments at the bottom, meaning that when I send the email, the recipient has to download the file to see it. I want it to take up the screen like yours does so that they can just click on the playhead and it plays instantly. Any idea how I can do this? Cheers mate

Thanks! Usually I'll put "my company name X other company name collaboration" or something along those lines to emphasize the personalization of the email.

Great tips! You mentioned in the video around 5:10 “conversion rates”. So what is your success rate landing clients using this method? Like 1 out of 100 people that you contact, or less? One for every 50? Better or worse?
Haven't crunch the numbers on that, but I will say it's much higher than standard cold emails!

Very helpful info! May I ask how do you compress your videos? Also, what do you put in the subject line for your emails?
If you're editing in Premiere, you can lower your target bitrate when exporting the video. Basically just keep lowering the bitrate until you get the video to about 10mb.
Hey Johnny! In the example video you played for us you didn't go into detail about the value you could bring that client. Do you usually go into detail for example "i noticed you have no video testimonials..." or do you keep it as staNdard as the example email video ?
Had the same question. I tested it with some friends from my niche and received positive feedback. Ben can't really answer that question. At this point you have to just try.

It depends on what type of email you are using. In my case it's as easy as drag and drop (assuming the video is under the file size limit).

What's your advice on those who have a niche, but don't know who specifically to search? For example, if they're in a product centric niche how would you go about finding companies in that niche?
Instagram is a really good tool for this depending on the types of products you are interested in. Spend some time browsing the discover page for cool product companies, put together a list, then follow through and do the research on said companies to find the appropriate points of contact. Hope this helps!

Have you found any differences in using your method vs uploading the video to UA-cam and adding the link to the email? Maybe adding a unique thumbnail to the UA-cam video could be another way of standing out?
You want to create as few obstacles as possible for the person viewing. I can't say I have tried with the link in the email so there's certainly a possibility it could work just as well or maybe even better!

I'm in the 6th minute of the video. I do like the content of your speech but the music is so distracting... I would love to watch this video again without all of those distractions, like the trumpet in the background and the squirrel nuts or the new follower. Like I said, I love the content you want to hand over, and this is why I'm here but all those distractions just take my time because I lose focus on what you are speaking about. I had to rewind quite a few times.
