Bro this game legit looks better than a ton of games today
IKR
And people say “Oh the Wii U is sooo bad the switch is %1000 better”
@@simplisticside7523 facts it's so annoying people over hate on the Wii u just cause the general opinion is to dislike it not because they actually don't like it
it was, and is.
Agreed
Me and my friends played Mario Chase so much in 2013, sometimes staying up all night just playing it lol. I always wish they made a followup with more maps, items, enemies to avoid, etc. One of the most fun multiplayer games Nintendo's ever made fr
Same! Mario Chase was the main game mode we played, it's so intense and very fun! I think it'd be beautiful if they made a sequel, with online play and like you said, more maps, items, etc. There's so much they could do.
Sadly Nintendo is facing a huge issue.the Wii u flopped...we all know. The market was just in a weird place at the time.nlt just nintendo.but now they seem to be of the philosophy that none of that stuff should still exist.switch is great.games are good. But there's not much experimenting from Nintendo. They did labo.which was cool but like.eh...?... And the problem.is that Nintendo is just very sterile now. Miis have taken a seat in the trunk completely.they could still be a huge thing.theres no social aspects to Nintendo now. No cool music.no cool menus..everything, the look the feel the music the text, the colors the menus...it's all very plain now compared to the DS 3ds Wii Wii u GameCube eras.it really sucks cuz Nintendo is Gunna hit another wall eventually. I just wish they were still being quirky but sadly with the death of iwatta and a lot of the other older higher ups taking more secondary back roles, those cool days are dead.i wish iwatta was still running things cuz the switch would've been successful and I'm positive he would've championed a lot of cool extras that don't exist now. It always comes down to games, but iwatta was such a visionary with very different philosophies on family and gaming and media and what it could be.and I think with the flip of labor and Mario kart circuit, were really only Gunna get ring fit adventure type ideas going forward for a long time. Very sad. I love when Nintendo has that extra little quirky thing going on.but apparently that's not cool anymore, just sales is.and they seem to believe in just putting out a system, and games now.that extra innovation is Gunna disappear more as the years go on and in 10-15 years, ppl are Gunna say "what happened to all of that innovative stuff, even if it flopped". I'll bet that's where Nintendo is heading
@@NintenDub 3DS and Wii U is getting ports, but a Nintendo Land is practically impossible due to it being a showcase of the Wii U, as how the separate gamepad affects the game entirely. Major reworks would be needed for another Nintendoland, and 1-2 Switch and Labk was already the showcase for what the switch could do.
So true. If it was more fleshed out it could be a standalone game
Same here, except me and my family. Wes till do it today too!
I remember thinking back then how beautiful that game looked.
I mean this was still in the Ps3/xbox360 era. And while games like the last of us were probably more demanding, the titles launching on the WiiU were just such eye candy. I didn’t really think about it but the wii u games were by far the best looking games around that time.
I really wish I had wished for a WiiU instead back then in retrospect
Before the PS4 and Xbox One dropped, the Wii U genuinely was the most powerful console out there.
Fun fact: this game made me know about the existence of the Zelda franchise thanks to a certain attraction, lol.
same lol

Same
Which one? Hard to guess
Me and my brother were obsessed with this game. Our favorites were the Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, Luigi’s Mansion, and Octopus Dance. We got it bundled with our Wii U and so many good memories were made with this game. We would also often play it with the kids in our neighborhood (none of them had this game, so they were always excited to play it). To this day, my brother and I will still often reference the game (usually by mimicking the automated voice in the Octopus Dance mini game, the “one, two, three” etc. i hope that makes sense) We cleared all the levels on the Zelda mini game, and I was always the archer and my brother the swordsman.
I really miss this game. This, along with Wii Sports Resort and Wii Play Motion were some of my favorite games as a kid on the Wii/Wii U.
octopus dance used to piss me offfff omg 💀 love it now tho
I genuinely started crying watching this video because of all the memories I had with it and eventually the game just disappeared and we never played it again. I might just grab my Wii U right now and see if I can play it. Thank for this video, it gave me a lot of happy memories. (My personal favorite game was the Battle Quest and Pikmin a game I begged my mom to get but she never got it so this was my only way to play pikmin I loved playing both with my sister.)
Did you play it back again?
No sadly
:(
I have a Wii U on the way with a physical copy of Nintendo Land, so don’t worry. Someone will still be playing it. :)
same I also get emotional, man that was times :( :)
One time on my birthday, me and all of my friends played Nintendo for hours and hours, top three birthday for me
For octopus dance, if you tap the squid on the touch screen he will shrink which causes him to shoot less ink. Hope this makes the game less annoying. :)
wish 4 year old me knew that lol
Thanks I’m trying to find this game again for nostalgia I’ll keep this comment in mind
WHAAAAAAAAAT I DIDNT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE INK?!?!?!?!?!!?
thanks dude!
I remember playing the Pikmin mini game for countless upon countless of hours with my sister! I really love Nintendoland
Despite the Wii-U being a huge failure sales-wise, It's games like Nintendo Land that make me so grateful to have owned one growing up. I have vivid memories playing Mario Chase and the Luigi's Mansion Minigame for hours with my friends. Those are memories I wouldn't have had if it weren't for this game. This is without a doubt a classic I'll cherish for my whole life.
Not many people know this but if you get another wii controller in any single player attraction, you can help the gamepad player out, like creating time bubbles to slow down the player, for timing their jumps in DKCC, or freezing the enemies in TNC.
Ahhh! I’m so happy to see this game being fondly remembered! As one of the only people who speedruns this game, it’s always nice anytime it gets attention. I feel like the tragedy of this game is that relatively few people will ever get to experience it. It’s honestly one of the best designed games I’ve played. But it relies so heavily on Wii U hardware that not even emulation can give the full experience. One thing that I think people may overlook, and understandably so, is that this game is pretty hardcore. Every single mini game has so much subtle technique available that allows for a really high skill ceiling. Very few players will ever get 100% completion because of how challenging many of the stamps are. When I first played this game I’m pretty sure I didn’t even get half of the stamps. I really hope we can get a sequel with a similar design philosophy. Asymmetrical gameplay may not work quite as well on the switch, but I doubt it’s impossible.
He speaks the truth once again
toad
This really is so nostalgic just the sound at the beginning of the Wii U menu but honestly I had a good bit of fun with Nintendo land it was a cool idea and they could have done a lot more with it
Man, now that I'm in my 30's I really do miss the magical feel that the DS, 3ds and Wii U had in their UI's and their exclusives like this gem and it really does make me miss the Iwata era of Nintendo.
This game is the only reason I still use my Wii U today and play this game almost everyday. This game has brought me and my dad closer together and I’m currently trying to get all games to be stared but while doing this I’m also getting more prizes from the games. Definitely one of the best games I’ve ever played and that Nintendo has ever made
I spent so much time in my childhood playing against my dad in Mario chase. We almost never played any other mode together, but we still had an absolute blast
It has to be added that Zelda Battle Quest is literally swordsplay from Wii Sports resort but taken even further. I love that they realized how fun that mode is
Great video on a great game! One note, a lot of the fun and challenge in the balloon trip game is the combo system, where if you don't miss any balloons you get a multiplier on your score. It's a neat risk/reward mechanism to encourage engaging with everything onscreen
I love that someone has so much nostalgia for this game like me to make a video about it. I'm not the only one.
And when I heard the Pikmin Adventure jingle at 7:23 I got chills, that jingle holds a lot of nostalgia for me.
i only first played this game last week after emulating it on my steam deck, and the asymmetrical multiplayer games are incredible! it's so sad that there isn't (and will likely never be) another local multiplayer game that capitalises on the tense fun of luigi's ghost mansion or mario chase.. i can only hope that the three or so people who've attempted modding the game decide to pick it back up!
I never had the occasion to play this game, yet it makes me feel so nostalgic
This video brings back an unbelievable amount of memories for me and I love it! The Wii U will always be my favorite console and Nintendo Land is in my top 3 games of all time! My favorite aspect of Nintendo Land is the 100% completion reward, the credits. It's not the reward itself I like but how it's displayed and the journey to earn it! I hope to see a sequel to it sometime soon!
I cant believe Nintendo Land was released in 2012. The graphics is still eye-popping to me
I have so many memories of playing this with my uncle and my cousins. I remember getting so nervous playing the Luigi’s mansion game when I felt the controller rumble, getting super exited playing the Mario chase game when running from and chasing my cousins, me and my cousins working together and trolling each other in the Zelda game, getting frustrated at the Donkey Kong and Game & Watch game, me and my uncle going back in fourth with the best score in the F-Zero game, getting a lot of the candies in the animal crossing game, beating my cousins at the Metroid game, cheering each other on when we were playing, and playing the plinko game with the coins at the top of the Nintendo Land tower. I have so many memories of Nintendo Land and I’m upset that I probably won’t be able to experience that for quite a while.
Man I used to play Mario chase all the time with my dad and sister.
All the games we’re so fun, really brings me back
i remember me and only one other friend had a wiiu - and we both had nintendo land and loved it. Its genuinely one of the best games nintendo has made and perfectly captured the capabilities the wiiu had to offer. i always find it sad that many people didnt play some of the best games nintendo has made in the past decade.
I always felt like this game recieved a lot of hate, so I'm glad someone loves it as much as I do. The music and multiplayer concepts of this game are amazing. I remember blazing through the Pikmin mode and having a blast with the Luigi's Mansion mode. Love your channel man, especially the Nostalgia Rewinds.
The Wii U was the first console I ever had, so Nintendo Land was also the first console game I ever played. I honestly can't appreciate this game enough for introducing a 7-year-old me to some of my favourite franchises (Zelda, Pikmin, Metroid, I even had a fascination with Murasame Castle for some reason), and just generally forming my love of variety in video games as a whole. I still play it regularly whenever I play with friends, and it remains as one of my favourite games of all time.
(also you can tap the mini octopus on the gamepad so that very little ink is sprayed lol)
Finalllllly some appreciation for the game ❤
This is one of my favorite video games of all time. I have ♾️ nostalgia for Nintendoland. Unfortunately, my Wii-U broke a couple of years ago. But I’m trying to save up for a new Wii-U, I can’t not have one since it was my first gaming console. I love the Wii-U and I think it’s a criminally underrated console.
The nostalgia really kicked in watching this channel and made me bring back the Wii U from the attic. This weekend I'm going to introduce my four year old son to the system. He is just starting to game and we recently beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land and played some Nintendo Switch Sports together. Most other games are still a bit too tricky for him. But I believe we're going to have an awesome time playing Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D world and explore WuHu Island together in Wii Sports Resort :) *Subscribed*
me and my family would play every single nintendo land game so often that it became THE family activity for a long time. out cats chewed up the cord for the console, so we couldn't use the wii u anymore. six whole years later, we've finally gotten a new cord, finally booted up the console, and we're doing everything we can to recover this ONE SINGLE GAME.
hearing the nintendoland theme for the first time in six years had me crying, man. i'm watching this to refresh my memory, to prepare myself to relive my childhood.
i dunno. i'm super hyped. that's all.
Nintendo Land is still one of the very best Nintendo games ever. The game is great and is still a concept with great potential.
My favorite game at heart. It introduced me to so many different Nintendo games like Pikmin. And at such a young age, this game was amazing and felt endless. Still does to this day.
I remember when I first got the Wii U it came with Nintendo land. I loved Mario chase and Luigis ghost mansion but they weren’t my favorite. My favorite was balloon trip breeze. I had no idea what the game was based off of so I would always pretend that the story of the game was that I was a mailman and I had to deliver balloons to peoples birthday parties and sometimes a stack of hay some reason😅. My Wii U broke a little while ago and I had to get a new one. The new one I got didn’t come with Nintendo land so now I can’t play it anymore🥲
I used to think all the Nintendo land enemies looked scary
To this day I still bring out Nintendo Land whenever I have friends over
God I love my Wii U
I love Nintendo land it was an amazing pack in for the Wii U it’s an absolute must play for parties
WOW. This brought me back. My sister and I used to play this every single day. But we had to sell our Wii and Wii U because we wanted other consoles and our parents made us compromise. But now that I have a grownup job, I’m gonna get a Wii U and nintendoland. And I’m gonna bring it home and play with my sister again. And it’s gonna be awesome.
i still play this game when my friends come over, this game is legendary and very over looked
I want to cry now. I have so many memories of playing this as a kid and it made me look back fondly at all the sleepovers and playing with siblings. It's definitely one of my all times favorites and this video just reminded me of that. Thank you this was very appreciated. Now back to studying for my finals lmao
Man you deserve more subs for this good quality of videos
wow, nice video hero. this was one of my favorite games on the wii u, and I still play it sometimes.
Amazing video it was perfect for getting the nostalgia I needed.
Thanks for making these videos man, I appreciate you 👍
You ever see something so nostalgic to your childhood that you completely forgot about so it makes you shed a tear? This is it for me… I remember the lobby at nighttime just being so peaceful and quiet it really is making me cry rn. Life was so simple as a child.
Fun fact the one player only games have hidden two player modes. For example for the octo dance the second player can use a wii mote to pop bubbles that contain extra lives, in the ninja game you can hold ninjas, and in F-zero you can erase up to 30 obstacles per area
My favorite team attraction: Metroid Blast
My favorite competitive attraction: Mario Chase
My favorite solo attraction: Donkey Kong’s Crash Course
Very well done review, made me track down the game, looking forward to playing 😊
Nintendo Land was SUCH a big part of my childhood. I loved playing it by myself or with friends. I can't count the times we were staying up all night playing this game (and especially the Metroid minigame) together. This game is so great, I actually wish there would be a sequel.
This video was really great and nostalgic. I had to send it to my friends I used to play this game with immediately :).
Loved this game as a kid, great video!
Also, in the single player games, other people using we remotes can interfere a bit. In the DK one, they can put the cart into slow motion, and in the ninja castle one, they can hold enemies in place for a while.
The camera on the Gamepad showing the face of the Gamepad player on the TV was so fun. Great video for a great game
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
this made me super nostalgic thank u
This video made me cry it just made me remember the good times me and my family had while playing Nintendo land we would have competitions.
I never owned a Wii U, but my friends did and man was that a party house. We spent so many hours playing this game, SM3DW, Mario Party 10, and Mario Kart 8 (possibly more I'm forgetting). I think the one we played the most was the Luigi's Mansion game. We spent so long on that game, but it never got old, it was always a ton of fun. I didn't even know like half of the stuff in the Plaza you mentioned since I haven't played the game (though this REALLY makes me want to again. Sadly, those friends that did own a Wii U moved away, so I don't get to play with them anymore (or just buy it from them outright).
Grappling the gamepad player in metroid is one of my core memories, love that game
Omg I missed out on so many things, I'll have so much stuff to check out in the future when I revisit this 4 nostalgia
EDIT: It arrived early and my copy of Nintendo Land was even sealed. I cracked it open and oh man this game is good. The Wii U is already becoming my favorite console.
Sad I didn’t get a Wii U while Wii U month was on, BUT my very own Wii U should arrive by Wednesday!!!!
I wish a sequel would come to the switch. The use of Joy-Cons, the touch screen and connecting to other Switches would add gameplay variety just like on the Wii U.
I know for a fact if you had a sibling, you played the pikmin attraction the most
Outside of that, this guy deserves more traction from his videos because of how well they're made. Keep making great videos :)
I adore this game. My favorite part of gaming is just having fun with friends in the same room. It’s an irreplicable experience. And this game was perfect for that growing up. If it was a weekend and my brother and I both had friends over, we’d just play this for hours. It was simple enough to be super easy to pick up, while complex enough to never get bored. I still think Luigi’s Ghost Mansion is the best multiplayer experience on the Wii U, and this game is the best game on the Wii U. I remember when I first got the console in 2014. I was a little upset that I got this instead of Mariokart. Now, I’m so glad I played this. Besides, it introduced me to Metroid and F-Zero, 2 of my favorite series
My favourite Nintendo channel. IT'S SO NOSTALGIC AAAH XD
Back in 2015, me and my brother got a Wii, not knowing that the Wii U already was out. So, when we got to our cousins on summer vacation, we discovered the Wii U. We had lots of fun playing Nintendo Land and Mario Kart 8. So, fast forward 2 years later, history repeated itself. We got a Wii U, the Switch was out. Only this time, our cousins didn't get a Switch from the get-go. And now? I'm glad I have a Wii U. I was able to live its last 6 years. I only need to get Nintendo Land and Wind Waker HD and I'm good. In fear that history repeats itself once more, I'll be waiting for the next Nintendo console (if I'm buying it at all).
I only played about 25 min of the Yoshi game when I bought my used Wii U. I had fun with it, but haven't touch the game since. After watching your video I might need to go back and spend some time on it. I also have been working like crazy so I might increase my nintendo switch funds account and go crazy on the Wii U eshop before it closes
Bro this game is awesome tho, my best memory was on New Year’s Eve and we played it at a friends with the 6 of us in the basement, grinding Mario run and Luigi’s mansion with so much laughter. Such a great time and a great game 😅
thank you for taking me back haha
YES YOU FINALLY MADE A VIDEO ON THIS THANK YOU
My experience with Metroid Blast is incredibly similar to yours. It's what made me a Metroid fan, and I also would really like a full game with its control scheme.
Me and my neighbor would play this game constantly and it’s so fun. I got chills watching the games cause they were actually challenging as a kid, especially the Metroid and Zelda game but the most fun is Mario chase by far
This gave me so many fond young memories
I play these games having no idea what any of the original games were lol. I played starting a friends house too! We actually bought his Wii-U off him and still use it too this day.
7 years later and this game is still very Nastolgic to me 😢 I miss being a kid
I still play this game to this day with my friends whenever they come over!
Happy Birthday to the Wii U!!
Got a used console bundled with Nintendo Land this summer and i clearly see why it’s underrated.
This game was seriously awesome, especially for a Nintendo fan. It allowed me to show others why Nintendo has some of the best franchises in gaming
Nintendoland is one if the very few games my father and I really enjoyed playing together. For that alone I cherish this game, nevermind that it has some if the best local multiplayer out there still to this day.
Fun fact: the solo modes aren’t actually “solo”, you can help with the wii remotes in most games by pointing the wii remote at the tv.
Like in Donkey Kong Crash Course you can slow down the player, or in Yoshi every wii remote can eat 1 fruit by selecting a fruit
2:58 I actually think this is me as a child xD. Although i can't quite remember how my first Mii looked. Seems about right though, as I didn't really change anything about my first Mii.
I’ve been playing Nintendo Land a lot lately with friends. I wish I played it back when it came out since I didn’t pick it up until at least 2018. Great game
Litterly played this everyday with an old friend. Still waiting for part 2...
My family re-bought a Wii U just so we could play this game again, and we have no regrets. It’s just peak party/family game night fun. The stress and screaming in the co ops and competitive multiplayer games alike are excellent, and the sound design and visuals are great as well. I love this game, and I look forward to playing it with more people as years pass
Me and my three friends spent countless days playing Sweet Day and Donkey Kong's Crash Course. Great game.
I’m getting this game because of this video I’m excited to play this with my family and friends 🎉
Before Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, there was Nintendo Land on Wii U.
This game introduced me to the gameplay of Pikmin and 3D Metroid. And now, years later, I’m a full-blown fan of both franchises.
I used to play this every time I got the opportunity to go to my friends' place. It was a blast every single time we played and I remember grinding both Pikmin together and Donkey kong on my own. The game is executed so perfectly and I really wish I could play it again.
my favorite minigame was the zelda one. fond memories of playing archer while my brother played swordsman. over the last thanksgiving break, when he came back from college, he brought a copy of nintendo land.
We beat Ganon’s level in 5 minutes. even with a screwed up analog stick on the gamepad. and then we got Ridley. Easily my favorite nintendo game in a long time.
Say what u want about but Nintendo wasn’t afraid to experiment during the wii/wii u era
They never are
I agree 100% with everything. We play this every Christmas as a family and plan on doing it again this year.
I so wish they made a sequel
I loved Sweet Day and I would always play it with friends. I never played, but I still got a gold medal on this one and this one only because of how fun it was.
I have such fond memories of this game I still play it with my siblings often it’s very good
I didn’t think playing the using the bow and sword in the Zelda attraction and zipping through the F-Zero attraction would be so fun! Wii Sports Resort taught me well with the former 😭💕 Metroid Boast was also fun! I loved decorating the plaza with my fave stuff. I also love the host robot character.
It felt like there was a bright future there as I’m wandering through the plaza with a train, listening to the jukebox, and see the posts made by a huge crowd of Miis. Glad I could see some level of it in Splatoon 3 today.
I was surprised you didn't mention how Zelda Battle Quest is pretty much just Swordplay from Wii Sports Resort but Zelda themed! I'm a bit sad I never took the opportunity to play that minigame when I was playing this game at my friends house. We were busy playing Mario Chase... lol!
The amount of excitement I felt when I discovered that, in the luigis mansion game, the ghost could press and hold both triggers to charge up a ghost power that drains the players lights completely if it hit, that was one of my proudest moments
This was my favorite game bro. Mario chase, the ghost one and the animal chase one was so fun :( our wii u and wii doesn't have the adapter so we are going to either get the adapted for the wii u or get a switch but i rlly hope we get the adapter for the wii u because nintendo land was the most fun game ive ever played.
Jesus. This game used to be the game I played everyday! And knowing that it’s been so long when I played it. Brings a tear to my eyes.
I LOVE Nintendo Land! All the mini games are great, because you might be in the mood for a different one each time which keeps you interested. Also, the Mario Chase was definitely the best multiplayer, I loved playing with my sister and some friends and we'd always really get into it haha
I still play this game from time to time. Especially the zelda and metroid attractions
