Another amazing painting. If I didn't watch you actually painting I would assume you were just showing us photographs! Your techniques are superb but what really amazes me is your ability to mix the colours of nature. You are one heck of a talented photo-realist artist.
Michael, this is another master piece that I enjoyed so much! It takes patience and passion along with attention to detail in using the right color in the right places...simply amazing! Thank you for posting this!!
I'm overwhelmed with inspiration every time I watch your videos... It's amazing to see your dad in the background doing his own thing...does he have videos? I grew up watching Bob Ross and William Alexander. I love watching these...you're the greatest! Thank you for sharing your talent and guidance with us....it's very much appreciated.
You have become my favorite on line tutor. Although I have painted for five decade... I have not achieved the professionalism that you possess. The Blue Bell video is fantastic.
Joshua Varner immerse yourself into the scene...what does it look like...when painting think of what your doing...take it slow...dab...tap...stroke or however....must be In tune with what your actually doing... Its like wanting to write and you want to write neatly...you can..it's about the big picture if what your painting and being neat...slowly using your brush as your writing ...but the brush has many ways to maneuver to achieve different outcomes ...patience is key ....there's no easy way....for realism using smaller brushes to achieve neat marks...be in tune with your Mark making ....
Michael James Smith try the "dagger" brush...your going to love it...great for thin lines..grass blades...textures in rocks...tree foliage...leaves...thin lines for water ...so much more. The synthetic dagger...stiff synthetic...or sable...needs to be stiff...
thanks a lot for explaining every single detail to share with us your techniques.. I greatly appreciate it ..I am new follower and am going to practice doing some of your paintings with acrylic ..I am waiting to do so.. waiting your new videos thank you again from Bahrain
Thanks MICHael JS . By-the-way, interesting to see a moment of varnishing at the start - it scares the daylights out of me varnishing and I've messed up sometimes : any chance of a video on the subject of varnishing, with some tips plz?. Thanks again for a superb channel.
Hi Michael another much appreciated video thanks.not meaning to be critical but the leaves on the trees look Autumn but bluebells come out in early spring! Bless you ! Love the picture tho
Gday Michael. Like all the new ''apparart i '' ( multiple apparatus) for holding the camera steady (with added octopus strap.) Your father looked fairly doubtful about it all, perhaps doubting the safety factor (OH&S) of it all. Well, some even thought Da Vinci a 'little strange'. heh heh.
Once again i ud say another master piece #MJS sir I have a request can u please upload a frame about how to clean ur brushes?that ud be kind of more enlightening
Brilliant as usual, I enjoy your videos more than all the others. Do you ever paint an entire painting in acrylic? If not, why not? Thanks for the info.

Everything seems quite real. The texture of tree bark, grasses. Shadows are so much eloquently done. The best realistic artist I have ever seen.
Bluebells look like a new type of diamond. Must paint them. Beautiful....thanks
