A DJ without a Black Lace record is not a DJ. Black Lace represented Great Britain in 1979 in the Eurovision Song Contest and then in 1981 split up from a four-piece act into the now famous duo that we all love or hate. In 1983, Black Lace really hit the big time when they made the Top Ten with "Superman" and in the following year with "Agadoo" and "Do The Conga". Few songs are guaranteed to raise people from their seats for years to come but these never fail, even 32 years on. Understandably, whether people are young, old or in-between, fun is always high on our list of priorities. Black Lace are exactly that - fun!! This is Black Lace, a legend in their own lunch box!

R.I.P Colin Gibb ❤
Heard about the sad passing of Colin Gibb, the founding member of Black Lace. RIP, Colin.
Undoubtedly one of the best songs ever written.
I totally agree.
"Ring the bell...ok...kiss...comb your hair...wave...wave your hands... Superman!!! "
Profound on many levels.
Sam Hardy, is that sarcasm I hear 😂?
It’s catchy as fuck
you must be joking
It's absolutely awesome
Black Lace saved meny a DJ's night 🎉
this takes me back. my dad was a die hard fan and saw them up and down the country, he had every 7", 12" and lp they ever put out. i still cry when i hear this song as they lowered his casket to this. R.I.P big man, love you
You had a cool Dad 🥰

Thinking about having this at my funeral. Everyone up doing all the actions in the church.

Omg verified
Even if it is cheesy.
A first choice holiday in Spain, around tea time and a load of kids on the stage....great memories of when my kids were small
Being on holiday as a kid dancing to this song at kids club😍😍😍
Saw black lace while I was bar tending when I worked at Butlins, on the adults only 80s weekend. So much fun
Seen them so many times at Butlins . BRILLIANT !!!!!!
This is my primary school experience in one song
Welcome to the non-racist Parade Me too. It takes me back to my innocent childhood when I was just 10 years old.
Man, how time has flown.
😔
song:kiss!
eveyone: uhhhhhhhhhh....
that's exactly what I'm thinking. Jumping off a table to superman
Mine too!
Yep, Youth Club Anthem. Flashing lights snaking through a garden hose
Happy Birthday Black Lace 40 Years of Party tunes
Yes! 👍
This song has been terrorising British school children for 35 years
Nostalgia, it actually hurts that’s how powerful it is
Fr😫😅
Definitely primary school memory listening to this song
Bass line, so simple, yet BAGING
Walked into my daughters first Christmas party at nursery today ,6 teachers and 24 kids were up doing this 😂
👤👩. 🎀👍♥️💋😘🎶
Being a kid at Saturday softplay birthday party’s in 2006 -When this came on you knew you were in for a good time.
Your school disco wasn't complete without this, cheap glowsticks, and those juice in the plastic cartons that all the bad boys used to bite the bottom on
We never had glowsticks but we had soft drinks and snacks.
And some are paying the price for it. I’m a gummy bear now,,,I should have kept them on my frame of me bike so I sounded like a motor bike. Oh the simple days a.
👤👩🏽. 🎀😍🎶

Big Time Orange Cups and Cadburys Mini Rolls at Centre Parcs kids disco? I fell you brother.
ps- I couldn't stomach the cold egg quiche party snacks though. I just couldn't with rumours of food poisoning en all.
in the dull and depressing 2021 we all need a bit of black lace
Atleast 2024 is here so we can have an extra good time 😊
Black Lace and beige buffets = winning combo
This is a classic, CLASSIC!! Sound your horn ... BEEP BEEP!! 😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌
Vjbvvnm,,n
🤩
But don't sound it during road rage. 😂
Thinking about having this as the first dance at my wedding.
Does the future wife approve?
u better have this and we’ll all come
The fact that I'd do that too prob means it's unlikely I'll get the chance to suggest it 🤣
She won't have a choice, I'm doing my part showing up, the least she could do is allow me to embarrass her for generations to come.
I have played this in Thailand with kidslearning english they love it all schools english camps kids from anuban to mathyom 5 adults too. But my advice is dont open up with this as your first song wait till near the end.
1989 primary school disco, boys on one side of the hall, girls on the other. Dance floor in the middle was no mans land.
Usual story lol. Brings back memories
Year 5 disco best hits
Soooo many memories with this as a kid on holiday
We need black lace back on national radio.. Someone start a bloody petition
I will
Oh my days WHAT A TUNE!!! Legendary!!!!!!
One more time
Pontins dance floor, going mental to this. I was 5
Pontins In Blackpool I would’ve been on the dance floor with the crocodile club
An amazing and important self-care anthem.
Thank you Black Lace 🥰
We used to have to listen to this about 5 times a year at every school party. It was annoying then, it's annoying now, it'll be annoying forever.. lol
I feel old listening to this. Not heard it since my childhood years.
We had a primary school teacher who would be the DJ at school discos, when this was played with the line ‘ring the bell’ he would actually ring the school bell..
Loved this as a kid
I introduced a disabled young adult neighbour to this song; she already loved doing the Birdie Dance and I had a feeling she would enjoy this and she did :)
She's already disabled FFS why pollute her with this nonsense that's just cruel lol
@@bbargain7547 It's good, fun exercise. I just did it myself :)
I think everyone had this song play in a school disco since its released. I had this play back when I was in primary school in the 2000's.
I'm a 90s kid. This wasn't just played at school discos, this song was present at every house party and works Christmas party we ever had.
Birthday and chirstmas parties too.
i was born in the late 70's, this was a school disco anthem along with the birdie song through out the 80's too
I used to dance to this with my Nan when I was younger. I had a nostalgia overload.
Haven holidays.
Love it!
This is a classic
Straight up fire. That key chage at 'kiss' used to make the hairs stand on the back of my neck in the church hall. I won an MC hammer 45 vinyl too. Epic times.
The most infectious earworm
Brillient!
Awesomeness 👌
i swear these guys made all the party songs
Haven holidays kids club 80s.
I used to dance to this all the time see them live did in Tenerife and they based there.

Did many an arm spray back in the day. Superman!

holiday song at butlins when i was a kid😂
Holy shit I finally found it
Omg I used to skate to this on my Bauer skates lol
I can’t listen to this without imaging David and Maureen from Psychoville
I only remember this from weddings and youth club discos. Imagine being in a nightclub with everyone doing the moves to it.
I shit you not I’ve heard black lace in my local rock pub
I absolutely loved the songs by black lace as a child, am now playing the songs to my 2 week old baby boy, so he can get used to them and we can do the dances together as he gets older
Reminds me of kids entertainment at a holiday camp
Love These Blokes 👍👍🦸
Did this recently and done it with primary school I used to go to haha they wanted me to join in 😂
We danced to this and 8 other songs in mini disco every night on a trip to Rhodes in 2009. That was probably the best summer job those British teenagers ever had, I would go to Greece for work anytime.
Really the a**hole has dropped out of Greece it's become a s***hole
Good party song
i work at a bowling alley and they put this on for the kids parties all the time
Phahaha no way I would there dancing joining in
OMG was knee high to a grasshopper when this hit my ears for the first time
I like the adult version of Superman too.
R.I.P. to the late Alan Barton. He was also the lead singer of Smokie.
He was killed in Cologne 1995
It's a bad way to go, but I bet he smelt nice. Rip
@@stud105omg 😂
I might be interested in doing that as a type of dance move when I go to parasol.
Every party I’ve been to
Great!
If ya didnt skid on your knees to impress the girls at ya school disco to this tune you ain't my type of man
❤
Great 😌
Love 😍 💖 💘 it
Peaked at #9 in U.K. on 16 October 1983
I couldn't tell Black Lace and Noddy Holder apart....
Im so tempted to play this in our busy town centre to get everyone smiling and dancing
I might be interested in doing this in college.
The original song is the italian version: Claudio Cecchetto - Gioca Jouer (1981). But I like this version too. 😊
Me too! I also know the Italian version even though I'm not from Italy
Lyric Rogers I'm not from Pakistan and I know it too
Goa for a walka, ringa da bella
Fantastic!

Superb! Jus about the right time to play & be Superman! 2020 give us a go!!!! Things can only get better nxt track D: Ream
This song, along with Cha Cha slide, Saturday Night and lots of Busted!
Cold cheap sausage rolls, weak fruit juice!
These were the days of 2000s British school discos!
This always played at clambers along with some other songs like this
James Gunn needs to use this on the new Superman film
I love your song
A masterpiece.
Always a party song,’ everyone said that they hated it,’ but when it was played,’ everyone joined in,’ bet you did too!!!!
Wow
woo let's go.
My school played this song and hes my great uncle and i cry when i hear
The DJ at camjam 2019 wouldn't stop playing this song
He's was my favourite person at the entire camp. Forget the other DJs, that one other singer. The DJ and him taking this dance so seriously made that entire camp. He was great.
Can't help but feel as though the makers of Saw really missed a trick by not having one of jigsaw's games relate in some way to this song.
Time travel by music
❤🐻
This song used to get 7 year old me so hype
If you're British and you don't know this song you never spent a holiday in a caravan
Anyone here from Psychoville?
Pemberton and Shearsmith are 2 of the most underrated writers/performers of this generation.
Yes!
