This is a good game trailer. It gives that dramatic movie trailer vibe while still showing gameplay the entire time. Take notes gaming publishers.
No, but seriously! It should be a given that we can smell a hype-inflator when we see one. We don't want STUNNING PRE-RENDERED CINEMATICS. Show us what the game looks like. Showcase how it plays. Let us decide for ourselves if we'll like it or not

For a second I thought this game was called Dungeons of Dreadlock.
It's not often a game like this captures my interest but this looks really good!
Such a legendary storyline and character development
This feels like it would play like an old school PC puzzle game called Chip's Challenge. I loved that game as a kid!
Now I'm having flashbacks to the entire software package that came on my dad's work computer from Bell Labs, Chip's Challenge, Jezzball, Pipe Dream, that one with the mouse and cheese, and of course, Skifree. That games package saved my childhood a million times when my dad was on call!!!!

I'm not sure about Android, but this game has a free trial on iOS with a full game unlock DLC if you want to see how you like the game before buying it.
Can vouch it is also in the play store.
The Switch is an RPG and dungeon crawler powerhouse. So many good titles and many more to come.

@@dondarrion1 Nobody Saves the World is good, Triangle Strategy if your into Final Fantasy Tactics style gameplay, Bravely Default 2 are a few of the newer ones I’m liking - but the really great thing about the Switch is the catalog of older RPGs from past gen consoles that have been ported over.
@@Ephesians-yn8ux cheers - i’m a bit out of touch with games lately, but i’ve craving a good rpg. I do like FF Tactics style games so Triangle Strategy sounds good. Will check out the other games you rec’d later…

Looks like Crypt of the Necrodancer but without the rhytm part. Looks interesting.
It's a roguelike. A proper one too as the enemies move/attack when you do

@@doctorfunfrock I think I misremembered. I remember seeing the scene at the campfire, but that must have been from the montage at the end of the international presentation? Edit: No, that wasn't it either. I think I must have watched the trailer on the eShop, because when I saw this one I thought "It's that game". Sorry for the confusion. ^^;

@@doctorfunfrock Really? This is getting even more bizarre. lol Is it really not on the eShop? Because like I said that scene with the two characters at the campfire in front of what appears to be a dungeon entrance is familiar, but as I write this I think I know where I saw it. It had to be one of SwitchUp's upcoming eShop release videos. Again sorry for the confusion. ^^; I guess I've watch too many trailers in short succession or something. haha

I got so excited for a moment thinking this was a recreation of dungeon of dreadmor.

Nice game and the price is very good
Plot twist: The lich King is actually Jichael Mackson and all the boys are fine and treated like kings in his Resort

it bugs me that the only thing I can compare this to is Crypt of the Necrodancer but without a beat.
It's really interesting: CotN shares more aspects with DoD than any other yet it's so differnt. But inspiration-wise DoD is much more Legend of Grimrock in top-down but very reduced (no party, no character progress) and more focused on puzzles.
So is this mistery dungeon type of gameplay or rhythm game?

@@doctorfunfrock oh, had to go look at mobile utube version. Thought since this trailer only had narrator at start them vanished it wasn't in the game.

Hmm. Some elements of this are suspiciously similar to the Legend of Grimrock games...
that's no secret - the guy who made it even advertises it as "a dungeon crawler like LoG put into top-down perspective". but there are no RPG elements and it's much more puzzle focused.

Wow, I am impressed. A rogue-like that doesn't look its procedurally generated or am wrong?
And they made actually animations! A level of quality that many rogue-likes don't care about (and therefore repulses me)
it's not a roguelike (no procedural generation), it's a mostly linear puzzle game
@@doctorfunfrock Rogue-like doesnt mean procedural. It mostly means that its a turn based game where, when you take a turn, the whole game moves. Basically each thing you do is a turn. Sort of a semi-passive game. Anyhow, you get what am talking about. That is what "rogue-like" is. Its just that most of them in modern days happens to be procedurally generated levels.

anyway the game's just real-time so not roguelike even according to that definition :)

same, man I wish someone would make a spiritual successor to that game, I absolutely adored it. Was so sad when the devs went bankrupt.

Btw, Minish cap, When part 2 or if not a switch remake. Really loved the ideas and gameplay and setting of it

After buying this, I had to make the unfortunate discovery that this game can not be played with the Switch-Pro-Controller, my only pair of Joy-Cons drifting like crazy and I refuse to buy a new pair.
Has anyone a good Idea solving my dilemma?

This game is free on mobile came out like 6months ago for those who wanna try it
Lovely game, seriously, but because of a game breaking bug, I'm stuck on the level we're you get the arc, the level restarted and now I'm stuck, the bug kill me again and again and again at the door , I don't have my knife and even restarting the game won't fix it, it crash after a moment, I can't do anything, softlock.... Shame because I love playing it....
Open Menu => Savegames. Then either load the level before your problem occurs OR use press cheat unlock and enter any level to even skip levels.
Also sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for buying and I'm happy you like it :)
@@doctorfunfrock I'll try... Again... honestly I even have an hard time opening the menu... The bug kill me before I can do what I need to do(I have like a couple secondes) , usually after 2 or 3 tries it just crash the game and I'm back on the switch menu
But otherwith great game, I really enjoyed it so far 😊

@@doctorfunfrock thank you I was able to get unstuck and now I can progress, I re-did that level and it was on the same path to lock me up in a deathloop, but it's honestly the only really annoying bug I found, in any case big thank you and congrats on your game 😊

i think i found a huge bug that prevents you from beating the game
at around floor 80? there is a puzzle where you gotta trick gnome or whatever to kill itself. game has crashed 4 times now when the gnome steps on the trap.
Edit: I found a workaround that doesn’t make the game crash. For the specific puzzle. Give the game a chance it’s pretty fun actually!
If that is true (i don't think it is) why don't you contact support? There would be a simple workaround: Go to Menu => Savegames => Cheat unlock and enter 81. Done
@@doctorfunfrock I found a work around for it, I was about to edit my comment. But for you (cause I recognize the name as the creator) forgot the exact floor number but it is in the 80s and you have to move the trees to block its path. The times I blocked the gnome completely towards the floor trap, game would crash as it went on the floor trap. If I didn’t block the gnome entirely it wouldn’t crash. I retract my statement about don’t buy though. And I apologize for that.

This game will not recognize a pro controller in handheld mode.
i'm sorry, I think it will not work with a pro controller in any mode, it's not supported yet. my bad, I wasn't aware that this is standard, I'm gonna patch this (actually updating unity right now to do so).

Not sure about the switch version, but the android version has some foul language in it... if you plan on letting your kids play, just an FYI
switch version does not => thus the difference in age ratings

they may all seem to be female to you but according to statistics 80% of video game protagonists are male.

still i assume (I admit I didnt check statistics) that also for newly released games we're closer to 50/50 (and probably still male-dominated) than what your comment suggests.
and as to your question why not let you pick: i briefly considered, but it was just out of scope for this small game.
