From an artistic standpoint this game looks super intriguing and well-designed!

No they are not 😭
From an artistic standpoint this is a carbon copy of Hollow knight and is in no way original. Same mechanics and enemy attacks and sounds like they literally copy pasted voice sound effects and whatnot.
@@Faine212 There are indeed a lot of borrowed mechanics from Hollow Knight but the music, enemy design, story, and overall aesthetic look neat and original. I’ve seen other metroidvanias that look & feel way more derivative of HK than this.
@@benhmedia what story? The trailer does nothing more than deliver edgy one liners without context in a world that’s so jarringly disjointed in it’s own theme that it just clashes harshly against itself, seems like a project that aimed too high wishing to be HK

The game might end up being a derivative HK clone, but I think there’s enough going for it (especially with the music and aesthetic of its world) that I’m - at the very least - somewhat intrigued.

The moveset reminds me of Hollow Knight, but this definitely has its own thing going on.

I think the hollow knight comparisons are definitely warranted, but this still looks different enough to be it's own thing :D

@@PrixtoTNTlol, even shovel knight had dashing. People been dashing and bouncing and slashin in metroidvanias long before hollow knight. Like Cave Story.
@@leptymarkgrodlar5769 You can't be that dense. Pay attention to the animation, the frames, the physics. It's literally Hollow Knight, it goes beyond just inspiration and similarities and it's more of a clone of sorts. Which is fine, but it is what it is.

The difference it's that Bug Fable is better than any Paper Mario. I would even say that Bug Fables is better than Paper Mario TTYD in a lot of aspect. 😁
I've read the comments and guys can you stop comparing every new metroidvania to hollow knight when you see a pogo? I mean look at Haiku the robot, it's a really good game! This game looks good and we haven't seen a lot about it yet, it has a lot of potential and possibilities and looks like it would be on the psycologic side too, it gave me a "trapped in your own mind" kinda feeling which is intriguing on its own; the characters and a bit of the events shown (like the one where you can answer a question in two different ways) seem humoristic like undertale, and I don't think there's any need to explain why that's a good thing. Also the blue platform is an environment-changing ability which are rarely seen since players usually break the game with those, and it would be interesting to see how they designed the game around that and maybe other abilities like that

Just go watch a Hollow Knight playthrough. You've seen this game then.
Feel pretty unsure about this one, it’s obviously playing off of hollow knights gameplay to the point that it feels more like a copy than an inspiration, map design looks intriguing but almost too abstract and the art direction feels like it really wants to be a dark and edgy introspective ala dark souls without much storytelling up front but I doubt they can actually come up with an interesting concept enough to make all the abstract ideas interesting (you know kinda how hollow knight was able to pull off that perfect feeling with minimalist design) I might be overly pessimistic over a 2 min trailer without much context but it just runs me the wrong way in almost every way, will have to see how it turns out in the end
Freal like the dash and down pogo feels more like a copy then being its own unque thing. Like they ripped the code for certain movements off Hollow Knight and plastered it in this game tbh.
Hollow Knight didn't invent the Metroidvania genre.

@@ogeans Maybe it didnt but you can clearly see the movements look the exact same as in HK. Its not inspired. Its a direct copy. The slashes, down pogo and just general movement was taken from Hollow Knight. Dont get what you mean by inventing metroidvania genre.. this game is a cheap carbon copy of HK's movement. Don't get how some people cant clearly see it. There is a difference between using someone elses idea to forge your own vs copy and pasting or in other words plagerizing another idea to make it your own.
