Great technique! I'm definitely gonna use this the next time that I have to dispose of another body bag
watch Bugenhagen training with the sandbag dummy for that
Used this technique on a 225lbs sandbag for my first time trying it and it went up easy a few times no problem. Need a heavier bag now lol Thanks for the video!
I've been doing large stone lifts and carries so I definitely picked up a few things here. One thing I will say though, getting it up to the shoulder is a whole other exercise from getting it to the chest. Shoulder feels more badass but to the chest I think is more practical and developmental for the average person because most people aren't trying to mog more than their bodyweight over distance(because to shoulder is easier to walk). Good pec, ab and erector development doing these kind of lifts. Nothing crushes my core and strengthens my back quite like walking big stones at my chest and getting it up is like a deadlift into a front squat. At least with what I have access to. I think certain people may be better instructed to lift sumo going heavy as opposed to a conventional stance. I realize a sandbag is different from a stone but the mechanics are the same aside from how it feels when you chuck it on your shoulder.
I used to do treework. . To carry long heavy logs i would lift one end, stand it up, then get it on to my shoulder and carry it.
Seems like a great, practical feat of strength for strongman.
You're such a badass.
@@AaronHoward81 they should implement log carry in strongman. and I am, a badass. thank you.
Great tips cheers 💪
So cool watching this.. You think its just about power but tech is involved alot to be a smart efficient strongman
More brilliant information. I will definitely look into your seminar after the Glasgow Giants Live show, just have to wait on my disability benefit hitting my bank 🏦
Thank you

I would say that despite your instructions, it is not always translating to the athletes. What is clear to you is not clear to them.
Why? They just haven't worked up to that heavy of a bag yet
Also me being the fat guy in this video and all the videos of this seminar. Your not always gunna instantly pickup everything in a 45 minute exercise in which we covered three different implements. Damn good thing it’s recorded so we can go back and look. I’ve already seen improvements on all three implements now that I’ve had time to practice. He explains everything extremely well. He has a natural teaching ability.
True 😊 but it's still a fine tutorial and thank god we can watch it more than once.
How on earth are any of these people in the fitness industry ?! they all look like they spend their time drinking beer all day.
Huh?
@@mitchellhooperstrongman Not you Mitch, I mean all the rest, aren't they supposed to be coaches and fitness instructors ?
Strongman is the people's sport. Sometimes you see someone who is chubby but an absolute beast. Ive competed locally and seen huge bodybuilders fail every lift and seen chubby guys who look like they drink all day dominate 7 events. It's why I love the sport. You dunno what someone can do until you see them go.
It’s strongman lol, they drink after the gym. It’s for strength not show
