One of the best gyms in Alberta. A lot of the strongman implements that you saw at Kdays in Edmonton in July, that was transported up in that big yellow truck you helped unload, were from the Strength Edge! Big support from TSE for the strength community.
...if the gym owners put chalk out for you, for free, they will HATE you for giving that piece of advice (breaking the chalk in two) - if that happens/gets done 10, 20, 30 times a day, any chunk of chalk becomes dust within a few hours...... It works, no argument. ... I prefer using liquid chalk, in my experience it works better, and it is less of a mess. Train hard, stay safe 👍👍.
$50 for a mouthguard seems like a lot of money considering that mouthguards designed to protect your teeth cost $15 and are just as easy to bite down on for that high level total body neural stim hypothesis.
I may be wrong, but from where I’m sitting it looks like heavy sandbags may be an excellent way to rupture your biceps tendons. Besides that they definitely would make you stronger.
You must do a good bit of mobility work to grip the bar so close to your shoulders on squats, or maybe I just don't do enough. Go crush it at Giants Live this weekend and the Rogue next week. Good luck.
You saying Strongman training is pretty much what the average guy should do, only with crazy numbers, convinced me to finally buy a sandbag and sled. I'll probably not get up to almost 200 kg though. Lol.
I have 2 airwaves and had no idea that your tongue goes under that bar. When I formed them, my tongue was over. It isn't that clear in the instructions. They should have a diagram of the mouth in the instructions.
Strongman, not powerlifter. High bar squats put more demand on the upper leg extensors and less demand on the posterior chain. It's squatting to get the legs as strong as possible, and not squatting to get the highest total possible.
The only effective things chiropractors do are therapies that they borrowed from other fields of scientifically proven sports medicine. The actual core philosophies of chiropractic, that they can treat all manners of human illnesses by strategically popping a patient's back and neck, are complete pseudoscience. In their words, they are "correcting spinal subluxations", but such dislocations of the spinal segments that they apparently identify by sight and touch are not visible on any medical imaging. Nor has chiropractic therapy been shown effective in the treatment of any disease or disorder, aside from mind nonspecific neck and back pain that is just as effectively treated with placebo. Long story short, ditch your chiro and get a quality massage therapist.
Thanks for Coming by Mitch!!!!
Props to the dad in the background feeding his baby between sets.

Ya do what you gotta do. Been there. Props to him as well

I have so many questions Mitchell...as another proud Canadian.

Just got my LHBK shirt. I was going to wear it at my powerlifting meet but it might me too comfortable for a training/competition shirt
You have an amazing gift for strongman.
You unlocked the ability to pick up grown men like toddlers for pictures.
Great gym! Glad you finally were able to experience it!

That bag is practice for MMA wrestling with Brian
Great content as always Mitch!
stay healthy as always man👌👌👌
I noticed that you squat with a full grip on the bar. That seems to be rare for a strongman. Hell, I can't even do it.
He has it very high on traps
He’s very athletic kin
An absolute unit!
I like how a woman carried the husky behind Mitch
Good luck bro 👍💪👊
Would be sick to see you do a collab with Calgary Barbell!

Just picking up an entire Brian Shaw and loading it over a yoke.

That's awesome. I love when they throw it behind them over a goalpost, looks like an awesome exercise.
Best of luck good to see what you are focused on close to comp, thank you #lhbk #teammoose
holy shit dude
Good luck!
I think raised heel shoes are great. I'm relatively tall at 185 cm and they help me get into a better position, safely.
oh yeah well i dont think it matters. on top of that im 189 cm. .
Who is your biggest rival for rogue? Tom or evan probably?

LHBK!
I refuse to believe you don't have alien DNA sheesh man u lifted a whole peak Brian Shaw
Now come to my acreage I have lots of activities that would be perfect for a Strong Man.
Any reason for squatting so high bar? You squat more weight like that?
Probably just more athletic than low bar.

Carries over (for most people) more to strongman and other athletic things more than lowbar.

2016 Eddie? 🤣
He was training sandbag, not atlas stones
@@dantethunderstone2118 Straight over your head. Lmao. 😂
@@damiensmith9240 yeah yeah that’s what Eddie weighed in 2016, but he looked like an atlas stone not a sandbag
@@dantethunderstone2118 Bit of both! Haha

Strongman vs sandbag who wins. Correct answer is the chiropractor
What would those witch doctors do about it? Strong enough person lifts a heavy sandbag, with proper technique, and everything will be fine.
