  • In this video, my pal James and Sarah invite me out to a roadside farm pond, claiming it has some HUGE fish in it....I was in disbeleif that fish this big lived in this POND!
As always, the Kastking Kong rod and Kastking Kapstan reel subdued this monster!
    THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!

The rate at which you catch big fish in your videos has got to be one of, if not the highest on youtube. Given the number of times you set out to film and ultimately produce just goes to show how great of an angler you are. Phenomenal stuff!

Throw a live mullet, pinfish, or panfish on a smallish hook with NO weight and a floro leader and just let it swim.

@solaydbak Hmm, I guess that could be valid. Nothing is made to withstand mud and grit, you can hear it when he's reeling, but to each their own.

@@2873lonewolf that's true. How you treat your equipment will determine how long they last. I'm bad about servicing mine.

@solaydbak I'm a freak about cleaning, to a sickening degree. I grease at new my reels, use Renaissance wax on rods at new and wipe everything after fishing with damp cloth...lol
Yes, I'm mildly neurotic, but the cost of all my rods and reels is sickening to think about. I would say though, the Renn wax is by far the best treatment for a rod, among other items I use it for in life.

If your using circle hooks. You will loose more fish than catch when you try a big hook set like that which was shown at the beginning of this video. All you have to do is pick the pole up and start reeling with the pole pointed upward. You rip the hook out of their mouth when you do a big sweeping hook set like that.

It is hard to keep your bobber in place with the wind like that and the slack from the cast. I used Shimano open bale with bait runners for years recommend a bait caster or else you risk losing the fish because of the massive slack from the wind if you are casting out far.

BE CAREFUL stomping around in the mud bare foot ...I wound up in the ER with a laceration in the bottom / side of my foot trying to retrieve a hung up lure. I took my shoes off, and started out into the muck and crunched through some broken glass that was about 2 feet down. 8 stitches, and it got infected of course. It was a mess!!!

Yes, the back straps are good. Look up recipes. In Louisiana they make a dish called gar balls. It is the back straps cut into balls and then cooked into a sauce. Its also good stir fried. DO NOT EAT or Touch the eggs. The gar eggs are toxic to humans and can cause sickness if eaten. The eggs contain the protein ichthyotoxin.
