Been thinking of starting fresh and learning how to guard lance him instead, got any tips/exp you can share to help me out? Been grinding the Black Belt Lance in prep for it lol
You could get some evasion or guard skills. Evasion skills might be a better time if you can get the hang of backhopping through his attacks. I made a gunlance video, it went... alright, lol ua-cam.com/video/Q_CG124qVGA/v-deo.html You can kinda use that to get a general idea I guess. Maybe I'll try lance but I'm not very good with it.
HeadHunter455 Thanks for the advice, just got done watching the video! Personally not confident at all w/ my Evd Lancing so I’ve gemmed the Hermitaur armor to Grd+1, hopefully it’ll be enough to slog through his charges unscathed. Also on an unrelated note, I’ve also watched your Plesioth guide and I hope you give guard lancing a shot w/ him if you have the time. He’s fairly easy to lance cuz you dont have to worry w/ the janky hitbox from the checks. Keep up the vids mate! ^^
np, I hope it was at least entertaining haha Guarding is a great alternative to evading, I'm not sure the specifics of the armor skills though and how it affects performance. Thanks! :D I'd like to fight each of the monsters with different weapons (probably in low rank, we'll see) eventually, just to help give an idea of how the fight could go, Lance vs Plesioth sounds fun 😄
I remember my first Tigrex hunt just because how badly I got beaten up by that thing. I walked into that fight with full confidence that it couldn’t break through my Gunlance shield, then it did that triple-boulder attack while I was right up in its face and it one-shotted me with my shield up. I didn’t mentally recover from that attack for a while
oof, it's rough honestly!! If you have power juice though you can block infinitely for its duration because it gives you infinite stamina, you could maybe give that a try. Personally I find Lance to be the best choice when fighting Tigrex 😌

I read online comments before I downloaded the game, as to which is the best monster hunter game for psp, people's complains about this game are the camera controls, I honestly don't have an issue about it even fast paced fights like this I can manage to adjust everything, this is my first monster hunter game and it is so darn good
Hey! Glad you're having a good time with it, I hope you continue having a great time, I think MHFU is a *perfect* place to start. Yeah, the camera controls on a PSP can be rough because of how it was set up, on a modern controller it's a lot less annoying, but either way, tapping L to swing the camera behind your character also makes camera control very simple and effective, and even with a second analog stick, people should use it.
I have just started this game on emulator and i am new to this game and your videos are very helpful , can you make a video on weapons and armours , like which weapon to take , which armour to take , advantage, disadvantage
If you follow my guide series I recommend an armor set in each one, it should translate to bowguns as well, as for weapons, there is a very useful guide that I use all the time here, though they don't cover bowguns, only bows: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283 I hope you have fun with the game! 🙂

no one asked but. i just beaten the "land of tremor" key quest. not gonna lie it was very easy I just needed the right strategy using flash bombs. and i also rewatched this for some help too and i finally perfected the art of rolling under it's arms.
I try to not use many items like traps and flash bombs and stuff, so I can give examples for what to do if you run out or don't want to use them. Definitely feel free to use items like those though.
I was hunting him last night. I wore a cenataur set because of the sharp sword and sword sharpening skill and the ravager blade because of the +8 defense but since I don't know how to outrun him most of the time, I usually die 2 times before I either abandon the quest or try and last for a while. The first run was great. Died 2 times but I broke his claws, tail and captured him. Now I'm aiming to get some parts for a decent tigrex SnS (even tho the affinity sucks). I didn't do it alone. I'm with my cat so most of the time it's chaotic (I can't go in alone because I don't trust my ass and my cat has the true health flute, good for times when I'm the one getting hunted). With this, I might try it again but I don't know if I could do what I did way back...
Yeah, it's really tough honestly. I'd really recommend using Lance, you can do what I do in my G-Rank video if that helps at all: ua-cam.com/video/Wk8PWuIc3ng/v-deo.html I can't find another way that is nearly as effective throughout the game. @@AM-rs4yv And i also feel like its less Tanky in P3RD In MHFU on any rank it feels like forever just to kill 1 single Tigrex Also, unlike in MHFU where for no reason his attack is Dragon element damage, P3RD is Raw damage Exception being the Throwing attacks can be Ice and Fire depending the map
I have a long way to go. LOL I just started playing this game on ppsspp emulator yesterday, and lately I encountered this in my gathering quest. Luckily, I survived running away. 😂😂
Id say the snowy mountains was a pretty difficult map to fight tigrex in , it was pretty claustrophobic and he will be in your face a lot. If not for the exploitable wall chomp. In the desert it was much easier , mostly because of more breathing space.
How do you cut the tail with GS? I'm an LS, SnS, and Hammer user, but I'd admit that GS, HBG, and Lance are becoming my favorites. I find Tigrex to be one of the hardest monster to hunt, even with LS and SnS which are my two most used weapons. But I do find using GS against Tigrex is actually easier, but I would love to hunt it with Hammer.
Tigrex is a massive pain in the ass, ignore everyone who tries to brag about how easy it is, they're idiots lol I'd say that GS is the best match up vs Tigrex IMO, but you can make a few things work. I also think Dual Blades worked pretty well too. To cut the tail with GS you should do what I'm doing in the video but instead of aiming for his head as he turns around, just attack his tail directly. Since his main form of attack is to charge at you, you'll often find yourself behind him, even if it's just an unsheathe attack, hit his tail as much as you can and it'll come off eventually. Good luck! 😄
@@HeadHunter455 Thanks. I managed to cut the tail just hours after I posted this comment. Lmao. I had to resort to using 3 Shock Traps (2 from combining) in order to properly cut its tail, and then capture it. Now I just need its Skull Shell.
Hey man can I ask what armor I should use as gunner in this stage of the game? I just defeated blangonga and now at the 4 star quest and was wonder what boss I should grind for armor
2:57 About that, he doesnt just _USUALLY_ do it. He _MOSTLY_ does it. Like alot. And fun fact, I brought and used up a lot of items on tigrex b4 but now all I bring is 2 drugged lao shan claws, healing, stamina and smack him with khezus body.
Ravager Blade+ isn't too hard to get Khezu Shock Sword has 624 ATP and 220 Thunder, and pretty short green sharpness Ravager Blade+ has 768 ATP, and pretty long sharpness using this calculator hunstermonter.net/damagecalc.php a Level 3 charge attack to his head; Khezu Shock Sword does 148 Ravager Blade+ does 175 The Khezu GS has a raw value of 130, Ravager Blade+ has a raw value of 160. That's pretty substantial considering GS heavily favors raw damage over elemental and status. You can get the raw values of any greatsword or longsword by dividing its ATP (Attack power) by 4.8, so for example the Khezu Shock Sword would be: 624 / 4.8 = 130 Interestingly enough, in the calculator, the Ravager Blade+ is just short of the head stagger limit when Tigrex isn't enraged... but that doesn't seem right. Not sure... but I know the Ravager Blade+ can stagger him with a level 3 charge to the head 🤷♀️ No problem, thanks for watching! :D I hope it helps you kick his ass 😄😄
Either one works, they will probably reward the same things, just depends on where you prefer to fight. Definitely an argument to be made for the desert being a good choice, having such large open areas.
😔😔 It's still pretty rough for me too. Here's a video I made for HBG: ua-cam.com/video/jTESFA14sDI/v-deo.html It should be *mostly* similar. Later on in High Rank there's a double Tigrex quest, I used LBG there, here's that one: ua-cam.com/video/uvE7LNvV4XE/v-deo.html
Not against Tigrex, but I've used Lance against Plesioth and KutKu :/ I guess you could check my gunlance guide? I don't use the gun part of it, and the attacks are different, but maybe similar enough?
Yeah, Eager Cleaver is the weapon I'd use if I was using LS in this video. He's weakest to Thunder, and Eager Cleaver is just a great weapon at this point in the game (You could do better with the Monoblos LS, but it's a bit harder to get, Eager Cleaver is just so good) You can find what weapons are good for what point in the game from this guide here: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283
If they add more time for the popo tongue, with enough preparations I will definitely able kill him, like in 3 portable, I able to kill Zinogre dispute using very basic armor

Thanks for the guide as always. Been playing this series for almost a decade now and have always used the GS when fighting him for all that time.
I made a gunlance video, it went... alright, lol

You can kinda use that to get a general idea I guess.
np, I hope it was at least entertaining haha
Guarding is a great alternative to evading, I'm not sure the specifics of the armor skills though and how it affects performance.
Thanks! :D
I'd like to fight each of the monsters with different weapons (probably in low rank, we'll see) eventually, just to help give an idea of how the fight could go, Lance vs Plesioth sounds fun 😄

Finally charge up PSP.
Turn on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite [MHFU].

And the Shogun Lance is soo good at this point of the game.

Definitely feel free to use items like those though.
Man. There's now a tigrex guide. I have to learn most of of tigrex quirks by being bodied by him. Hahaha. Anyways nice vid.
thanks :)
I'd really recommend using Lance, you can do what I do in my G-Rank video if that helps at all:

I can't find another way that is nearly as effective throughout the game. You can head snipe in low and maybe high rank at least, that's pretty fun :)

Exception being the Throwing attacks can be Ice and Fire depending the map
I have a long way to go. LOL I just started playing this game on ppsspp emulator yesterday, and lately I encountered this in my gathering quest. Luckily, I survived running away. 😂😂

In the desert it was much easier , mostly because of more breathing space.
Yeah, seriously the areas are so small T.T
@@HeadHunter455 AND THESE FUCKING STONES
Cutest Monster in the game 😸
😼😼😼
How do you cut the tail with GS? I'm an LS, SnS, and Hammer user, but I'd admit that GS, HBG, and Lance are becoming my favorites.
I find Tigrex to be one of the hardest monster to hunt, even with LS and SnS which are my two most used weapons. But I do find using GS against Tigrex is actually easier, but I would love to hunt it with Hammer.
Tigrex is a massive pain in the ass, ignore everyone who tries to brag about how easy it is, they're idiots lol
I'd say that GS is the best match up vs Tigrex IMO, but you can make a few things work.

Tnx it helps a lot
np, thanks for watching 😄
2:57 About that, he doesnt just _USUALLY_ do it. He _MOSTLY_ does it. Like alot.
And fun fact, I brought and used up a lot of items on tigrex b4 but now all I bring is 2 drugged lao shan claws, healing, stamina and smack him with khezus body.
...yeah, mostly, usually, same thing.
The point is, it's not all the time, so you can usually rely on it, but sometimes he just wont.
Is khezu greatsword good enough i started replaying this 5 days ago and im getting near to tigrex thank u for the tutorial btw.
Ravager Blade+ isn't too hard to get
Khezu Shock Sword has 624 ATP and 220 Thunder, and pretty short green sharpness
Ravager Blade+ has 768 ATP, and pretty long sharpness
using this calculator hunstermonter.net/damagecalc.php a Level 3 charge attack to his head;
Khezu Shock Sword does 148
Ravager Blade+ does 175
The Khezu GS has a raw value of 130, Ravager Blade+ has a raw value of 160. That's pretty substantial considering GS heavily favors raw damage over elemental and status. You can get the raw values of any greatsword or longsword by dividing its ATP (Attack power) by 4.8, so for example the Khezu Shock Sword would be: 624 / 4.8 = 130
Interestingly enough, in the calculator, the Ravager Blade+ is just short of the head stagger limit when Tigrex isn't enraged... but that doesn't seem right. Not sure... but I know the Ravager Blade+ can stagger him with a level 3 charge to the head 🤷♀️
No problem, thanks for watching! :D I hope it helps you kick his ass 😄😄
@@HeadHunter455 thanks man
would a kezu GS work too? also, I use LS is there a guide for that?
Should I grind the absolute power quest for tigrex materials or the tigrex roar quest
Either one works, they will probably reward the same things, just depends on where you prefer to fight. Definitely an argument to be made for the desert being a good choice, having such large open areas.
