@@pjket4229 I see what you're saying, and you're right, they came out of a "scene" which was of a sub genre of grind/punk. Bands like Axegrinder, Sacrilege, Hellbastard, Paradise Lost, Amebix, didn't all play with Bolt Thrower but if you check 'em out, you'll notice how they are distant cousins. As far as unique, maybe Celtic Frost, but then, Voi Vod comes to mind.
Come to think of it, Discharge and maybe Infest were the last unique bands IMO.

      So true,
just saw them 3 times, and once even thought whether it was a good idea to go to the concert because I nearly crashed the car on a 4 hour nightdrive back home (it was winter and freezing so sleeping in the car was no option and I didn´t have money for a hotel)
But now I realize that it was worth it.
      BT were just epic.
For the whole last year I was hoping for a lifesign of them, sadly the last sing we got from them was when they disbanded.
      They´ll be remembered.

I saw these guys in a 600 square foot venue in a the middle of a corn field in Kansas, back in 1990. It was as legendary of an experience as Bolt Thrower is a death metal band. Just basic raw hard hitting clean riffs screaming at you, setting the back drop for the stories of war that grip your mind's eye. Even after all these years the music holds up as well as the first time I heard and felt the power surge through me. Lest We Forget!

Back in the old days of vinyl, I could set my LP-player in such a way that the arm would not perform it's auto-return at the end of the record but rather kept stuck in that last groove and create an ambient sound. I literally had that last part on for hours on end.

Yesterday, I was driving around 2 hours in the night. Suddenly, I stopped my car and I put on CD-player that CD. I flew to another world. I enjoyed listening to 'War Master' like 24 years ago... 23 years ago... 22 years ago....
OMG!!! I always enjoy so much listening to 'War Master'.
Apart from this, I don't know exactly which BOLT·THROWER 's album is my favourite. Sometimes, I think that it's 'The IVth Crusade'; and in others times, like yesterday, it's 'War Master'.

When I had this album on vinyl I could rig my pick-up in such a manner that the needle would stick in the last groove and the outro would play on an endless loop.
Excellent ambient tunes for the rickety squat I lived in.
