Chuck is not dead
He is Death

He doesn't make the death... he IS the death.

Imagine you want to name your band and you are so early to the party that the username ''Death'' is available!!!!!!!!
Actually, it was unavailable. The Detroit band Death precedes Chuck's Death by a decade. Both bands however have similarly legendary legacies! Very different styles, and very powerful in their own rights. And previous to the internet, there was no way Chuck could've known about a band that had yet to achieve the cult status it would 30 years after its prime.
@@spinstercity5623 By the time that Chuck picked the name Death to replace Mantas the proto-punk band you are referencing had seized to exist. They did make a comeback in 2009 but by that time Chuck's Death band had already dismantled due to his passing. Killer rock band from the early 70's though, despite their short lived existence in those early years.
@@spinstercity5623 The other Death is fucking awesome. I discovered them before this Death being from Michigan. My friend and I use to listen to For the World to See all the time.
I hate the face of jesus the false prophet satan frnd.
Whilst "Lawnmower Death" were a tad late to the party, it isn't all bad...
"Pull the Plug" is one of the best songs in heavy metal history. Period.

pink could be used as a brutal color. you don't see this kind of artwork nowadays.
Death had some awesome album covers. Spiritual Healing is my favorite.
The Spiritual Healing cover is amazing. I also dig all of the old covers that remind me of D&D art from that period
I'm not gonna lie, when I was a kid this cover scared my ass. I passed this tape up and bought D.R.I. "Trashzone"...also a great album but I still wish I had grabbed this. 🤘
Ed Repka made some amazing cover art, that's for sure

"Pull The Plug" - first death metal super hit.
i didnt know that
@@roberttrowell8674 It won the Grammy in 1988.
I was 15 years old when this album was released. Now I'm 50 years old and this album never ages, its a beautiful album.
Hell yeah brother I started listening to this album when I was 19, but as I was born in Brazil I already knew sarcófago and Sepultura since I was eleven!
I'm right behind you by only a couple of years. I'm 48 years old....and I've been listening to the older Death albums more so now, than ever before.
Чак хуярив неслабо. Да ))
Me too! I was born in 1973.
Same, I was turned into this by the older stoners I hung around. I was like 13 ish. Slayer, death, sod, are burned into my brain. For life, I'm 51
I still listen to Death and always will, fuck im 53 ,one of my favorite bands of all time.
Classical is still alright. I mean it's hardly metal but it's respectable... Could be listening to worse
Dylan Creed classic music is one of my favorite genres. At least they weren't listening to pop shit.
I'm 45 and cannot get enough!!
I'm 47 and still listen..
im fifty and love the music of death
Now then. Us old metalheads, I’m 57, have heard and seen what the musicians of the Punk and Metal of the late seventies, eighties, nineties and of later generations had on offer. Fantastic albums with shows to match. Unforgettable memories. As time goes on, even these punk and metal bands, will disappear over time as immortality does not exist. Who’s gonna replace the legends? Do the youth of this current generation have what it takes to pick up an instrument of their choice, master the instrument, form a band, get noticed, spread the word, do gigs, get management, demos, rehearsals, album releases. The older metalheads know there are young performers out there that can take on Chuck, Lemmy, Steve Harris, Jeff Hanneman, Piggy, Holt, and a thousand others. Talent is there. The metal world is waiting for you to rise up and put the pop world to shame. Hopefully, listening to this record might give you a push and put your talents towards forming a band. Go on, give it a try.
You deserve all the /_/ respect.
You obviously don't see what we got going on then old man lmao
Check out Cryogenic Defilement's song "Uterine Intercourse" and appreciate what the younger generation are doing. There are many examples, but this will give you an idea of how badass the younger generation is and how they are keeping it real as fuck. I'm 51 (at the time of this posting) and have seen metal evolve and expand over the years. Admittedly, Death's "Leprosy" is so epic that the bar is set extremely high. However, there is some amazing metal music coming out these days.
@@milansikela8383 Yup, can't agree more. I'm 19, and it's fucking crazy what people around my age and older are putting out.
The world has changed so much, and death metal with it. If anything, it gets more heavy and twisted every year.
Immortality is absolutely fucking real. Your listening to it. Chuck is just passed on, not gone forever. Just as we all will be one day. Not dead, just passed
I was born in 97' and I started getting into Death Metal at 17. Leprosy was one of the first Death albums I heard, and after hearing this all the way through, I looked online to see when their next tour was, only to be crushed to find out that Chuck had died and the band no longer performs. I've watched almost every Death interview there is, and that's how I'll remember Death. Rest in Power, Chuck! \m/

Totally agree. The drums sound like bombs doing damage. Speaking of drum sounds, imagine if Eric Carr played death metal, would've been devastatingly awesome.
Yes they are..one of my favorite albums and human

As a kid who played guitar growing up in the 80's and 90's listening to Testament, Metallica and Pantera I am shocked I never stumbled across Death. I just recently discovered this band. Chuck Schuldiner was just an incredible guitarist.
One of the best in terms of recognizable style! Right up there with those more recognizable bands!

Agreed. Leprosy is Death at its heaviest. The raw brutality is f unique, the sick riffs unmatched. I'm glad I've seen them on this tour in 1989. 🤘😎
Gotta say, Spiritual Healing is a very, VERY close 2nd. Also, their debut album Scream Bloody Gore is absolutely insane, for a bands 1st album. IMHO, I think we legit can say Death's first 3 albums are BY FAR their best work/material....
@@JudasSlays2426 Every Death album is phenomenal. Chuck just grew as a musician and started pushing the limits even further with the later albums. (Sound Of Perseverance is honestly extremely fuckin good).
@@Rhugor I agree. I just honestly didn't love Human as much as I loved The First 3. I also very much enjoyed Symbolic and The Sound Of Perseverance (Soul Crusher among others are amazing). I'm going to re listen to Human, and listen to the rest of Individual Thought Patterns (need to finish 3 tracks). I fucking LOVE me some DEATH, it doesn't matter really which album (I just love the first 3 majorly, and the final 2). When I was young, I couldn't say that, I didn't know all his music yet. My first album I ever owned from Death - Symbolic. Bought that on a whim, saw it at the store and was like YEP 👍. Glad I did that, because it bridged me into knowing the best Death Metal band of all time and all of their discography/music. It also taught me just how special Chuck Schuldiner truly was! He's EASILY Top 5 Most Underrated Metal Lead Guitarist All Time. Fell in love with him being the Riff Machine that he was over his 7 albums, and we truly enjoy all of his lead solos. I know I do! 🤘 DEATH FOR LIFE🤘
@@JudasSlays2426 I think I get what you are saying, and agree with, that ITP and Human do feel like a transitional albums looking back and explorations of the sounds and style that Symbolic and SoP really nail down and deliver on. This is my favorite death metal album of all time.
+Decaying Reverie Mine too! \m/
+Nuno Lourenço same here
mine is The Sound Of Perseverance. But this is a killass album for sure
+Rnils pndni I see Leprosy more as thrash album. The Sound Of Perseverance is more like a melodic death metal album, in my opinion
+Justin Kills Aquino ohh nooo Leprosy is indeed a death metal album. A lot of the very first death metal albums (pre 89) have some thrashiness to them. I honestly think TSOP is more of a progressive metal album. Either way both are great albums
I became a metal fan when I was 14, only listening to thrash metal during the first two years. I then "randomly" bought this album - the cover, band name logo and song titles spoke to me. Still my all-time favorite metal band. Schuldiner was one of a kind. As a fan of progressive music and jazz I really appreciate the later (90s) stuff, but mainly I keep coming back to this one very often just to hear grooves and riffs so efficient that even friends not really into metal start banging their heads.

This is the album along with Slipknot’s self titled, turned me on to extreme music when I was 15, I’ve never gone back since then. I’ve listened to countless metal albums that impressed me, but this has remained at the top, classic, raw, unrelenting, and aggressive. My favorite metal album period.

1. Leprosy
[music and lyrics - Schuldiner]
Bodies deformed way beyond belief
Cast out from their concerned society
Flesh contorting day after day
Freak of the dark world is what the people say
Their lives decay before their eyes
There is no hope of cure
Among their own kind they live
A life that's so obscure
First an arm and then a leg
Deterioration grows
Rotting while they breathe - Death comes slow
Leprosy will take control and bring you to your death
No chance of a normal life to live just like the rest
Leprosy will spread with time, your body soon to change
Appearance becomes hideous a sight too much to take
Tuberculoid the most severe
Decay of the nerves comes fast
Sense of feeling soon to be gone
Life will never last
No hope of recovery after the nerves are eaten away
Damage is done you feel no more pain
Bones decay deterioration grows
Origin of this horrid disease nobody knows
Their lives decay before their eyes
There is no hope of cure
Among their own kind they live
A life that's so obscure
First an arm and then a leg
Deterioration grows
Rotting while they breathe - Death comes slow
Leprosy will take control and bring you to your death
No chance of a normal life to live just like the rest
Leprosy will spread with time, your body soon to changel
Appearance becomes hideous a sight too much to take
2. Born Dead
[lyrics - Schuldiner, music - Schuldiner / Rozz]
Brought to this world to wither away
Naive about the ways of life is what they say
Millions live millions die, more are yet to come
Living skeletons - Where they come from
Born dead into this world
To starve and rot in agony
Born dead into this world
It's their choice, why can't you see
Life of misery, soon a corpse you be
As bones show through, nothing you can do
Relief does not exist
When you are born to die
Disease spreads fast across their dying world
Many cemeteries they will have to build
As process goes on for many years to come
A human waste land created when they are done
Born dead into this world
To starve and rot in agony
Born dead into this world
It's their choice, why can't you see
3. Forgotten Past
[lyrics - Schuldiner, music - Schuldiner / Rozz]
Deep in your mind there is another side
A morbid truth one cannot hide
Unimaginable gore was your past time high
To hear people scream, to watch them die
Return back to the burial site
Face your dreams upon this night
Severed limbs not far away
Spirit past you now obey
Images of the forgotten past
Your first life revealed at last
Now you'll find to your surprise
All the corpses you left behind
A place you feel you've been to before
Where life would turn right into gore
You dig deep down through the years of decay
The truth is revealed, you found your way
Return back to the burial site
Face your dreams upon this night
Severed limbs not far away
Spirit past you now obey
Images of the forgotten past
Your first life revealed at last
Now you'll find to your surprise
All the corpses you left behind
4. Left To Die
[lyrics - Schuldiner, music - Schuldiner / Rozz]
Put your life into their hands
Die for someone else
Now you're in the real world
Where pain and death are felt
The first blood shed does not seem real
Reality is what you feel
Dropping to your knees you pray
God won't make this go away
You will not return alive - Left to die
Suffering until the end - Left to die
Time stands still as you pass away
No more tomorrow this is your last day
On this fucking earth
Bodies fall onto the ground
Blood flies through the air
Shredded victims lie in pain
Death is never fair
Legs blown off, all hope is lost
A human life is what it cost
Others follow close behind
A real adventure they will find
You will not return alive - Left to die
Suffering until the end - Left to die
5. Pull The Plug
[Music and lyrics: Schuldiner]
Memories is all that's left behind
As I lay and wait to die
Little do they know
That I hear their choice of life
End it now, it is the only way
Too cruel, that is what they say
Release me from this lonely world
There is no hope, why don't you
Pull the plug
Let me pass away
Pull the plug
Don't want to live this way
Once I had full control of my life
I now behold a machine decides my fate
End it now it's all too late
What has now been days, it seems like years
To stay like this is what I fear
Life ends so fast, so take your chance
And make it last
End it now, it is the only way
Too cruel, that is what they say
Release me from this lonely world
There is no hope, why don't you
Pull the plug
Let me pass away
Pull the plug
Don't want to live this way
6. Open Casket
[lyrics - Schuldiner, music - Schuldiner / Rozz]
Approach the image filled with fear
As the image grows so clear
Future now takes full control
The one whose past you now behold
Touch - The flesh it is so cold
Turn away - You now have been told
Never to return, memories will last
In the future, you'll think about the past
Never to forget, what you have seen
People come to pay respect
Taking pictures of the dead
That is what life comes to be
Once they lived, now they're deceased
Death is oh so strange
The past no one can change
What you can't predict
Is how long you'll exist
Open casket - Open casket
Life will never be the same
Death can never be explained
It's their time to go beyond
Empty feeling when they're gone
Never to return, memories will last
In the future, you'll think about the past
Never to forget, what you have seen
What can not be real you now believe
7. Primitive Ways
[lyrics - Schuldiner, music - Rozz]
Go against the ways and experience pain
Leading a life which one might call insane
Bathe in the blood of the one you killed
Slaughter to survive, your needs are fulfilled
Using horrid waste
Some of them will taste
Removing deadly disease
With such primitive ease
Cannibals practising the art of butchery
Emotions don't exist, pain you can't resist
Primitive ways
Conducting ceremonies to meet the ancient ones
While having an outer body experience
Celebrate the kill of the day
Then walk among the guts of the fallen prey
Using horrid waste
Some of them will taste
Removing deadly disease
With such primitive ease
Cannibals practising the art of butchery
Emotions don't exist, pain you can't resist
8. Choke On It
[lyrics - Schuldiner, music - Schuldiner / Rozz]
Freedom is just a breath away
Will you live to see the day
As the heat intensifies
You start to choke, your insides fry
Seizure now sets in
Torture will begin
Twisted bodies lie
Waiting now to die
Choke on it - As your tongue goes down
Choke on it - Death is all around
Screaming fills your frenzied mind
No way out no more time
Example made from those to see
Your freedom turned to misery
World is all around
Of what they have found
Lesson to be learn
You will not return
Choke on it - As your tongue goes down
Choke on it - Death is all around

After 10 years of extensive listening, I'm starting to realize that this album has an underlying message of living up your life to the max before you die. It's beautiful. Death metal can be outrageously multilayered
Great comment dude. Chuck was influential in SO many ways

@@jason_108 I actually have heard that song man! I lovee the ending with the synthesizers all though I can’t remember from which show its from.
@@nucleardancemoves255 Oh I mean the Swedish band Entombed! Album Left Hand Path. Came out in the glorious year of death metal albums 1991.
This album did nothing but praise to my ears
that snare is uhhhhhhhh, so friggin sick
This album really have some evil essence in itself. But when you go deep, song after song, you will realize that this album is in fact concept story abou life in the world after nuclear assault.
Leprosy - radiation sickness of people living on the surface
Born dead - Radiation cause bigger risk for new borns
Forgotten past - Modern world is no more. Everything lies in the ashes under ruins. Knowledge was lost.
Left To Die - There are many sick people because of fallout. There is no madical help anyway. If you're really sick, there is no help for you.
Pull The Plug - Death is everywhere. Sometimes it's even only solution.
Open Casket - "Life will never be the same
Death can never be explained
It's their time to go beyond
Empty feeling when they're gone"
Primitive ways - Primal instincts are taking place.
Choke on it - Only strongest will survive. If there is a chance.
Would explain why he's clutching the book
nice summary
Still listening in 2016. ...and forever! :)
+LamarcusDirk Good luck finding better death metal.
2017, 2018, 2019, 4 ever
+Robert Paul Gass There lots of generic, shitty death metal out there, or just metal in general. It's feels good to find the good bands
Paul James Caladan Brood revived my faith in good and original 21st century metal. It's so hard to find it nowadays.
+Robert Paul Gass Caladan Brood original? They are just a Summoning rip off band..
My 2nd favourite Death album after spiritual healing.
LEFT TO DIE
Put your life into their hands
Die for someone else
Now you're in the real world
Where pain and death are felt
[Pre-Chorus 1]
The first bloodshed does not seem real
Reality is what you feel
Dropping to your knees you pray
God won't make this go away
[Chorus]
You will not return alive
Left to die
Suffering until the end
Left to die
[Post-Chorus]
Time stands still as you pass away
No more tomorrow
This is your last day
On this fucking earth
[Verse 2]
Bodies fall onto the ground
Blood flies through the air
Shredded victims lie in pain
Death is never fair
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Legs blown off, all hope is lost
A human life is what it cost
Others follow close behind
A real adventure they will find
[Chorus]
You will not return alive
Left to die
Suffering until the end
Left to die
One of the best death metal albums of all time.
Dances of death by Mekong Delta, you know that one?
Definitely death metal. The guitars are tuned lower than traditional thrash metal. The vocals are definitely not thrash either. Only thing remotely thrash about this is some of the drumming. But that's how death metal started out. This and scream bloody gore was the transition from thrash to death metal. Which most genres that start out have that transition. Regular heavy metal was the same way. Hard rock was the transition to heavy metal. You could say Black Sabbath was hard rock but they arnt. So yes there's gonna be a thrash influence with earlier death metal. Not to mention they are considered the first death metal band.
I lost my virginity wearing a shirt of this album. \m/
Chris NotReallyThatSweet I bet he loved your shirt 😂
lmaoo
everyone has a sex story with a death t-shirt
Are you a girl or a guy
I was wearing a leprosy shirt the first time I got stabbed with a knife
Without a doubt this masterpiece is the best death metal album ever recorded!
Indeed, but there is another one. Scream Bloody Gore is still my Favourite. It was the first Trash Album I heard. I was 12 Years old, and now with 48 I'm still listening to all this Masterpieces 😊😊😊
Spiritual healing is ONE of my favourites. Top three for sure from death.
@@Disabled-adventures Yes, absolutely.
I can't believe I wasn't listening to this back in the day. Loving this at 55. What else have I missed. 🤘
I like zigzags
WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU LISTENING TO? IF YOU WERE A METAL HEAD YOU KNEW ABOUT DEATH.
probably their album Human, and Cynic's early prog death album Focus. Atheist's tech/prog classic Unquestionable Presence. that's at least a good start for me. only a coincidence they're all from "the Sunshine State." (Florida).
Autopsy nailbomb the band 👍cannibal corpse macabre pestilence at the gates carcass 😉
Iconic cover, brutal atmosphere, flawless arrangements..even more 20 yrs later since my first listening to it in vinyl owned by a former friend of mine..Keep LEPROSY cd on my pantheon of ultimate deathmetal/splatter/grind records along with DEICIDE´s Legion, MORBID ANGEL´s Altars of Madness, CARCASS´ Reek of Putrefacion(grind/splatter), AUTOPSY´s Severed Survival and of course SCREAM BLOODY GORE.
Excellent taste. (Yes, including your profile picture as well.)
+MutilatedSoul
Hail Mayhem!
Is splatter another term for goregrind? Also like mutilatedsoul said sick taste in music.
RIP Euronymous
Agent Orange Rip Dead. :( Oh and love your profile pic. Bathory's 1st album is legendary!
Absolute Masterpiece!
god damn what a fucking metal album
Even though, I was into thrash metal when I was 13. I was freaked out by the album cover but eventually as soon as I bought this album, I went on buying the whole discography the next day. And I told everyone Chuck Schuldiner was my first and foremost favourite death metal musician. Chuck's death was very much grieved by those who admired his music. RIP Chuck Schuldiner ( 1967-2001 ) but but his legacy lives on.
Pure classic.
I've been listening to this album in pretty steady rotation sinceit came out. In the early 90s I was lucky enough to meet Chuck. My band at the time opened for Death, and genuinely liked our band, and was super cool, I got to talk music with him for a good half hour or so. I feel very fortunate having met him, and it was fucking awesome that he liked my band. Of course he got a complementary tape!
Man, you're so lucky
Wow. That was something else. I like it.
So where would we be able to find some of your bands music?
Robert Hoage. what was your band's name? is there any of your band's music to jam out to? If Chuck dug it probably pretty killer stuff!
Robert Hoage he's just a kind hearted soul he won't tell you to your face that you suck or lame if he really thinks that he will make you feel good and say you guys ate good I like it he's such a sweet person isn't he
This guy was one of a kind
Chuck Schuldiner is Death, I am Death, but I took the name Jonathan David Taylor, after David Jonathan Taylor, shot my sled out of the sky with a missle from a jet, so i stole his planes, jets and heliocopters and stashed them around the world. Do you know any pilots that might want free planes, jets or heliocopters, so I can start collecting them from around the world? I took the name, so when I free Victoria from the glass prison she is in, she will know who to take her revenge on for blowing my sled out of the sky with a missle.
"Choke On It" is so underrated... the chorus is brutal.
Still love this album. Killing riffs and apocalyptic drums sound. For me, best Death album and Open Casket is pure deathmetal gem.
AGREE
THIS is the album that opened my mind to all the heaviness that DEATH METAL has to offer!!
Hear hear brother.
I'm 46 now. And DeatH has been playing regularly in my house for over 30 years.
same 🤘
Invite me
Open casket - the best track on this album!!! My favourite Death 💪
i just now discovering this and am glad i am
Listen to Darkthrone's debut, Soulside Journey, it's a pure death metal album in the vein of exactly Leprosy, only it has like twice the amount of riffs, as well as some of the coolest drumming ever.
Was the first album I heard from them, god I remember the feeling when I first heard it. Fucking incredible man!
Me too, but first i listened The Sound of Perseverence and i love it.
you're way too late
sound of perseverance is best album, meaniest! spirit crusher is best song absolutly, i have it on cd
All time favorite Open Casket!
Happy Birthday Chuck you would have been 55yrs old today....gone but not forgotten #LetTheMetalFlow
I bought this album recently for one song Pull the Plug. When I finally heard all the other songs on it as well I couldn't believe the gold mine. This album doesn't have a bad song on it.
So many badass screams/ war cries man haha. The drumming is so heavy too man. Just beating the shit out of those drums haha.
Death never did put out a bad song though - it is all brilliant stuff.

"Left to Die" possibly the best death metal song ever written
And the sick laughter or whatever it is at 17:20
that song's riffs are beautiful.
it's great, but....best death metal song?!
"Perpetual Dawn" - Fleshcrawl, "Towards the Shrouded Infinity" - Demigod, "Enthralled in Essence" - Atheist, "A Prison Called Earth" - Atrocity, etc. are all way better.

This is the most important and legendary death metal album of all time.
This and tomb of the mutilated
I'd say possesed 7 churches is tied.
Possessed is thrash
@@johnklinger6887 I'm not getting into that one . Either both are thrash or both death. It's death thrash.
This album is pure Death with a side of Leprosy
Why can't i have favourite album from DEATH so hard to choose.
THERE SOMETHING ABOUT DEATH JUST EVERY SONG IS LIKE LISTENING TO METALLICA FOR THE FIRST TIME.BUT WHEN U DO NOT DOWNLOAD A SONG FROM DEATH U FORGET THE SONG INSTANT.
So hard that's right
still sounds awesome
The album which made me start listening to Death Metal and ever since that I am Death fan.
Its awesome how some bands create a sound thats so unique and you always know its them no matter what, yet each album is unique to itself
Pure genius, huh?
The 7 people who disliked this do not know what good old school death metal is. Sucks for them, it's their loss
The first time I heard this, it changed my life...I don't know if it was "for the better" but it definitely sounded better.
When I was about 15 I luckily found a relapse records comp on cassette at Goodwill and I ended up playing it all the time. Primitive ways was my favorite on it. I was more of a hardcore punk fan but anything evil and fast and heavy I loved. So years later I thought death would be an awesome band name and I looked it up on Myspace and discovered scream bloody Gore. When I got to leprosy, I rediscovered primitive ways.. I was reunited and it felt so good hehe. Now Death is one of my favorite bands of all time. :)
I am surprised I didn't check these guys out sooner. Better late than never.
You just have to feel sorry for all the fools that never got into Death Metal , A life wasted
One of the best death metal album EVER!
Side A
1. Leprosy 06:19 Hide lyrics
Bodies deformed way beyond belief
Cast out from their concerned society
Flesh contorting day after day
Freak of the dark world is what the people say
Their lives decay before their eyes, there is no hope or cure
Among their own kind they live a life that's so obscure
First an arm and then a leg, deterioration grows
Rotting while they breathe, death comes slow
Leprosy will take control and bring you to your death
No chance of a normal life to live just like the rest
Leprosy will spread with time, your body soon to change
Appearance becomes hideous a sight too much to take
Tuberculoid the most severe, decay of the nerves comes fast
Sense of feeling soon to be gone, life will never last
No hope of recovery after the nerves are eaten away
Damage is done you feel no more pain
Bones decay deterioration grows
Origin of this horrid disease nobody knows
Their lives decay before their eyes, there is no hope or cure
Among their own kind they live a life that's so obscure
First an arm and then a leg, deterioration grows
Rotting while they breathe, death comes slow
Leprosy will take control and bring you to your death
No chance of a normal life to live just like the rest
Leprosy will spread with time, your body soon to change
Appearance becomes hideous a sight too much to take
2. Born Dead 03:25 Hide lyrics
Brought into this world to wither away
Naive about the ways of life that's what they say
Millions live millions die, more are yet to come
Living skeletons, but where they come from?
Born dead into this world
To starve and rot in agony
Born dead into this world
It's their choice, why can't you see?
Life of misery
Soon a corpse you be
As your bones show through
Nothing you can do
Relief does not exist
When you are born to die
Disease spreads fast across their dying world
Many cemeteries they will have to build
A process to go on for many years to come
A human waste land created when they are done
Born dead into this world
To starve and rot in agony
Born dead into this world
It's their choice, why can't you see?
3. Forgotten Past 04:13 Hide lyrics
Deep in your mind there is another side
A morbid truth one that cannot hide
Unimaginable gore was your past time high
To hear people scream, to watch them die
Return back to the burial site
Face your dreams upon this night
Severed limbs not far away
Spirit past you now obey
Images of the forgotten past
Your first life revealed at last
Now you'll find to your surprise
All the corpses you left behind
A place you feel you've been to before
Where life would turn right into gore
You dig deep down through the years of decay
The truth is revealed, you found your way
Return back to the burial site
Face your dreams upon this night
Severed limbs not far away
Spirit past you now obey
Images of the forgotten past
Your first life revealed at last
Now you'll find to your surprise
All the corpses you left behind
4. Left to Die 04:35 Hide lyrics

Side B
5. Pull the Plug 04:25 Hide lyrics
Memories are all that's left behind as I lay and wait to die
Little do they know that I hear their choice of life
End it now, it is the only way
Too cruel, that is what they say
Release me from this lonely world
There is no hope, why don't you...
Pull the plug?
Let me pass away
Pull the plug
Don't want to live this way
Once I had full control of my life
I now behold a machine decides my fate
End it now it's all too late
What has now been days, it seems like years, to stay like this is what I fear
Life ends so fast, so take your chance and make it last
End it now, it is the only way
Too cruel, that is what they say
Release me from this lonely world
There is no hope, why don't you...
Pull the plug?
Let me pass away
Pull the plug
Don't want to live this way
6. Open Casket 04:53 Hide lyrics
Approach the image filled with fear as the image grows so clear
Future now takes full control, the one whose past you now behold
Touch, the flesh it is so cold
Turn away, you now have been told
Never to return, memories will last
In the future, you'll think about the past
Never to forget, what you've seen
People come to pay respect
Taking pictures of the dead
That is what life comes to be
Once they lived, now they're deceased
Death is oh so strange
The past no one can change
What you can't predict
Is how long you'll exist
Open casket
Open casket
Life will never be the same
Death can never be explained
It's their time to go beyond
Empty feeling when they're gone
Never to return, memories will last
In the future, you'll think about the past
Never to forget, what you've seen
What can not be real you now believe
7. Primitive Ways 04:20 Hide lyrics
Go against the ways and experience pain
Leading a life which one might call insane
Bathe in the blood of the one you killed
Slaughter to survive, your needs are fulfilled
Using horrid waste
Some of them will taste
Removing deadly disease
With such primitive ease
Cannibals practicing
The art of butchery
Emotions don't exist
Pain you can't resist
Primitive ways
Conducting ceremonies to meet the ancient ones
While having an outer body experience
Celebrate the kill of the day
Then walk among the guts of the fallen prey
Using horrid waste
Some of them will taste
Removing deadly disease
With such primitive ease
Cannibals practicing
The art of butchery
Emotions don't exist
Pain you can't resist
8. Choke on It 05:54 Hide lyrics
Freedom is just a breath away
Will you live to see the day
As the heat intensifies
You start to choke, your insides fry
Seizure now sets in
Torture will begin
Twisted bodies lie
Waiting now to die
Choke on it as your tongue goes down
Choke on it, death is all around
Screaming fills your frenzied mind
No way out no more time
Example made from those to see
Your freedom turned to misery
World is all around
Of what they have found
Lesson to be learned
You will not return
Choke on it as your tongue goes down
Choke on it, death is all around
Thanks for taking the time to write the lyrics respect mate 👊🏻🙏😉

Happy birthday Chuck
This album sounds just like 1989/90 Pestilence album Consvming Impvlse, and I always can't help myself but imagining Martin van Drunen singing on Leprosy and other way around whel listening to Pestilence. Absolutely badass albums of two world death metal poles.
Pull the Plug played on the Tommy Vance Friday rock show when it was a new song is what got me into this band. The stand out song for weeks on it. Chuck Schuldiner really was the best - a musical visionary.
