- We spent the week exploring the colorful and charming town of San Juan Del Sur. The people here are so welcoming and friendly. We had a few hic ups with our first Airbnb but were lucky to find another place to stay. We are right in town and have enjoyed the pre Christmas festivities.
San Juan del Sur is a fun, beachside party town surrounded by excellent surfing beaches and mountains that carve out an unforgettable coastal view in Nicaragua.
All over the country on Dec 7th devoted catholic families celebrated the Purisima or Gritería as it is known commonly. The Gritería is a religious festivity that takes place on the eve of the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary; where dozens of catholic families install in front of their household altars in honor of the mother of Christ, while others visit to pray and sing traditional songs, receiving in return traditional sweets and goods that is known commonly as “Gorras”.
We were lucky to experience this special time in San Juan del Sur.

Can you explain about your hic ups on your Airbnb , am planing to go soon and get an Airbnb , but I don't know , I haven't done before . Thank you.
The first place we stayed had used older photos of the amenities. When we arrived there was empty swimming pools and loud construction. So we decided find another Airbnb. I also use bookings.com when we travel and find it very easy. I hope that helps ✌🏼✨

Our property manager rented us one of her old cars. 😁
