Would it be possible to generate, topdown / isometric screenshots from desired angles? There is a whole community of VTT Roleplayers that like creating maps form all sorts of sources. Plus it would be a great way to share doodles on your Social Media of choice.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Two things I can say in regards to that: The devs did show interest in playing around with rendering finished builds before. twitter.com/PounceLight/status/1720783505485959597 However at the time this was in the context of building a Save/Load UI and got scrapped for expedience. Beyond that - can't find a Tweet for it but - some form of "photo mode" with wider camera controls has been talked about a few times as being a planned feature. That might get you most of the way to what you need - granted of course that it makes it into the game before release. I'll keep an eye out o7
Hard agree. In fact, it's one of the features I requested during the playtests. Alas, so far I haven't heard any rumblings about additional wall types. I'm holding out hope that once all of the tech is in place there'll be a push for more diverse everything-types before/after release. What you could do if you're really curious is check the comments under the dev diary/post-dev diary posts on Twitter. See if you can find something or ask yourself if you have a Twitter account. Ana and Tom have historically been pretty good about replying to people. Wish I had something more specific to tell you but "I asked for that too!" is the extent of my knowledge. And for the record: I asked for it by including it in my playtest feedback - as such I didn't get a reply to it, it just went into their notes.
I have it on good authority now that timber-framing is on the list of things the devs want as well but might not be able to get into the game by release. With how much the placement of the wood beams would have to change depending on other elements on the wall, it's a bit of a coding challenge. Stay tuned
@@freakout3516 thanks for the reply. Yes i am not a coding computer nerd at all, but I can imagine the processing time of walls made of stones that look a like, is different from beams-stones or beams-plaster wall structure.
Ain't my game! - looks like I do need to change the titles to something different - But! I did play Townscaper, got a good 16 hours in it. I would advise taking seriously what it says on the Steam page about Townscaper being more a "toy" than a "game" If you have plenty of creativity to go around without external motivators, then I'm sure you can get your money's worth. In a lot of ways Townscaper is like a box of building blocks with how little there is in terms of directions. That being said, slowly discovering all the combinations of blocks has a fun element of exploration to it. I remember being stoked once I figured out how to make stairs appear. Stylistically the game's a bit limited - as in: you're kinda of stuck with that "Early to late-ish idealized industrial period?" aesthetic. But with a bit of imagination I've built castles I could be happy with anyway. Beyond the exploration aspect with the building, I do enjoy Townscaper's audio design and visuals. I'd argue it's difficult to build something that's truly ugly in the game. Things might not come out the way you wanted them to but I always felt satisfied with the results in the end. The audio design on the other hand is very minimalist - so there's no music blaring that would distract me from building. And I find the *plop* *plop* *plop* *plop* sounds from placing and removing blocks very satisfying. In any case, it seems that Townscaper is 6 bucks currently. If 6 bucks is an either-or type decision, then I'd feel the money would best be saved. But if you think that you can get 6 bucks worth of fun out of a box of building blocks, then I'd say go for it. Certainly I feel that I got my money's worth.
Links to everything are in the description, I should add.
Also 4:00 and following is fake news. 😔
Great video!

I can't wait!!
Is there a possibility in this game for timber framing walls? Like what you see in Germany a lot.
