Cozy Grove is a game that I like that isn’t farming. Your main objective is to help spirit bears open up and figure out how to help them move on. It’s a really cute game. You can put up trees and bushes for some resources but you don’t make plots, plant seeds, or water them to grow them and it’s not a huge focus of the game at all.
I liked a little to the left. My advice? Play it slowly. When you’re done, put it down and wait 2 months or so to pick it back up. I blasted through it and then replayed it too soon which was way worse a play experience than if I had played a chapter then waited a day before playing the next one.

Spiritfarer was great until I lost track of some details and couldn't figure out the next thing I had to interact with to move the story forward and then I felt like I was Failing some basic puzzle somewhere or Forgetting some crucial content and the game just became "go to each spot in turn and try to figure out if there's something to react with, while getting Distracted by daily chores, and losing track of which things I've checked, and--" and I lost all interest. Hope to go back to it someday; it truly is an intriguing game with an interesting aesthetic and a lot of heart.

I dunno if this would be considered cozy or comfy to others but one of my absolute fave comfort game series is the Room games (not affiliated or related to the movie). They're these mystery puzzle box games, theres currently 4 games plus 1 VR game. The first game in the series is pretty cheap and its a good introduction to the world but it's sequels are such huge improvements, my personal faves are the 3rd and 4th. The asthetics are spooky but theres no real horror in them, they are very well made and i love them with my whole heart. Im hoping theres another one in the works.
I think my toddler niece would LOVE Odada. Even if she doesn’t make “good” music, that kind of “wow! I’m doing things! It’s moving and making sound!” Experience can grow into a love for music.

That first game reminds me of the idea I had a while back for a game where you start by building the world, preferably medieval fantasy then you start the game spawning in as the world is simulated. Ecosystems and quests are dynamically generated, quests mainly when something is out of balance for instance too many predators, or not enough food. If the world isn't well balanced it could cause a collapse of different systems.
@@CozyDesignStudios all you would need to do is keep track of the number of each animal and a couple other variables, when the population of an animal gets too high or too low you post a quest, do the same for any other type of quest, for instance if a child character moves too far from town then you can have a quest starting with where they left town and have them leave clues like footprints or broken branches with cloth on them. It would be a lot of variables, but if you just have a trigger when certain variables reach certain values you should be able to make a variety of quests dynamically.
I am working on a simple RPG with a simulated wilderness and dynamic quests using the population of animals. I plan to expand to keep track of the villages supplies, with npcs going hunting and gathering.
damn well yea it sounds like youve put alot of thought into it haha you clearly know your shit, make sure to let me know if you ever post your game somewhere I really wanna check it out when its ready!
I'm not sure how big this game's reach is. But Coffee Talk is a game made by the people who made Infectionator waaay back in the day. It's a cute visual novel where you run a late night coffee shop in a modern fantasy setting. Seeing the lives of new customers turned regulars happen in front of you with a little twist come the end. It's adorable and you can touch the lives around you while playing. I fully recommend it. Also, the soundtrack is AMAZINGLY vibe full. Tons of smooth jazz and lo-fi inspired music.
I’m playing a lot of supermarket simulator while waiting for Luma Island to release this month. Luma island has farming in it but you get to pick your profession. Baking, fisher, miner, etc. I’m planning to spend quite a bit of time on that game.
I highly recommend Beacon Pines. It's an intriguing story game with many branching paths and beautiful art. It can get sad at times but it's amazing nonetheless.

I really like moonstone island, a farming game where you don't have to do any farming. The five is more in exploration and collecting Pokemo... I mean spirits
If you haven't played A Short Hike, you will probably love it. You basically just explore an island, slowly developing your ability to move through it, while encountering charming characters. Only game where I completed everything because I didn't want to stop playing. Still boot it up to run and fly around and play the minigames from time to time, despite there being nothing left to achieve, just because the vibes are so damn good It is kinda short, but way less so than I assumed. It took a while for me to find every single thing, tho if you're searching more meticulously it might take less. Tho part of the fun is to just chill and move around and then going "oh neat, something I didn't find yet"
“Mutazione” is a story game where you go around and talk to everyone, if that is something you like. However my favorite is “Alba: a wildlife adventure”, where you walk around an island and take photos of animals, with a broader story about the island’s habitat:)

Bruhhh im currently finishing A Little to the Left… a little bit more and i’ll jam a pencil to my ear. I’m not that smart and this game slaps it to me every freaken level 🥲🥲🥲 (it’s worth it. Aesthetic, sfx, puzzles! Kudos team!)
Sky: Children of the Light is an EXCELLENT cozy game for many reasons. 1. Free to play with optional in-app purchases 2. Multiplayer or Single player 3. Aesthetically pleasing visuals. Low poly with excellent colors and soft edges 4. Cute character customization! 5. Super chill gameplay that mostly revolves around solving puzzles, collecting items, and traveling the map. As someone who do music, i adore the consept of Odadda! Making music nowdays is so easy, more people should try it. And cute little games like this can help ALOT in bringing people in :)
Lil’ Gator Game! It’s got the exploration, climbing, gliding, and sliding of Breath of the Wild, but none of the fall damage. It centers around a bunch of kids at the park playing a huge fantasy game. It’s so cute, and wholesome, and fun!
I’m glad I watched these, the first two look great. The game where you have to clean up seems really dumb though. I don’t want to do that in real life. It looks blander than bland.
i love management/economy games but not farming so much and i love cat cafe manager. finished it in a weekend bc i got so sucked in but i wish it had taken me longer
I used to produce SO much music last year and then one day all of the motivation and creativity sort of just… dried up. Im really looking forward to trying Oddada and seeing if any of that creative spark comes back!
I’m in between. I *love* farming games but 90% of “farming games” are just doing it to copy Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. But those copies never have the same polish and finish SDV and HM have. Often it’s added in as an afterthought to an entirely different game, which is fine, but then it gets marketed as “indie games with farming” and I end up in a game *not about farming* with 15-30 dollars less in my wallet
My Time at Portia and Ooblets are two examples, at least I think so. Portia also puts a big emphasis on surrounding regions but I don’t think you visit them in the game itself. That’s fine but the emphasis in-game makes you feel like Portia the game is smaller than it could be, because the allure of “nearby” countries is there. Again maybe I’m wrong, I haven’t beaten it anyway.
I pesonally love Tsuki Odyssey. While it technically has a farm, and you could plant several differnt crops, you could also only plant carrots, which are used as the currency in the game. You collect the carrots and new ones are planted immediately, all with 1 click, and then you can buy cute things to decorate your tree house with, or interact with your friends. They regularly have new seasonal events on, with event specific furniture and decorations you can buy to decorate your and your friends' houses with. And if I don't want to play for a couple of days, I don't.
Try out "Alchemist Simulator" Not Potion Craft, the name is just Alchemist Simulator, it's so cute, so cozy, and so funny, it just happened to release at the same time as Potion Craft and I think it's a shame that they didn't get as much attention because of that
Just discovered this channel, totally my vibe! The video is just as cozy as the games. I liked your explanations, really clearly showing the uniqueness of each game and their appeal. Will def be binge-watching the rest of your videos. Oh, and I hope you don't mind me saying but damn you're a handsome guy ^^;
cracks me up that you spent 5 minutes talking about a music making game and didn't include any examples of the music! thanks for the video, these all look great :)
my non-farming cozy game of choice is called Moonstone Island! Think of it like cozy Pokémon! You are an alchemist who leaves home for the first time and find yourself on a sky island town, where you are tasked with defeating and capturing “spirits” on the other sky islands all around you. The confrontations with spirits are structured like a Pokémon battle, with your moves dealt to you out of a deck of cards. The game has stardew-esque relationship building, and you *can* farm crops, but it’s not massively important to the game, just convenient! As someone who loves Stardew and Pokémon, I think it is so perfect and so underrated, so I take every chance I get to sing its praises!
oh yea i really liked playing that one! im not much into turn-based games but there was somthing really unique and entertaining about flying around to all the different islands
A Little to the Left is such a great game. I'm glad I bought it packaged with both the DLC, but now I'm sad I finished all the puzzles (minus the dailies). Farming in games has always been my least favorite part. I would love it if there were more games where you were a villager doing any other job you wanted and socializing with everyone. It's why I was so excited for the Fantasy Life game that got announced. I'd much rather play a tailor making and designing clothing than growing crops or taking care of livestock.

Ohhh BOY do I agree! That is one of my ALL TIME favourites
I’m glad I watched these, the first two look great. The game where you have to clean up seems really dumb though. I don’t want to do that in real life. It looks blander than bland.
My weirdest favorite chill game is Steep. It may not seem super chill at first but i love just boarding around
Same here. I love plotting a nice route on the map and skiing it just to ski it
i love management/economy games but not farming so much and i love cat cafe manager. finished it in a weekend bc i got so sucked in but i wish it had taken me longer
Thanks for the video
You helped me find games I didn't even know I was looking for.
Oh thats really great to hear!!
Letters To Arralla to soon! You're a thicky little guy delivering letters.
My younger has enjoyed Incredibox and Songbird Symphony. Can’t wait to see what he does with Oddada. Thank you.
That's awesome to hear! I hope he likes it!
This video is very cozy i love it
Unpacking is worth a look too.
I think he’s mentioned it in some other games for sure ! :)
I used to produce SO much music last year and then one day all of the motivation and creativity sort of just… dried up. Im really looking forward to trying Oddada and seeing if any of that creative spark comes back!
AHH man I'm sorry, creativity ebs and flows I'm sure it'll come back! And I hope oddada can help with that
i love games like this omg thank you
It might not be your jam but I love the “Hidden Cats in “ series.
I haven't played them but I've watched some people play and they look so fun!
My favorite cozy game is Garden Galaxy! It's so good✨
I’m in between.
Again maybe I’m wrong, I haven’t beaten it anyway.
skyrim!! it lets me make bread and soup.
That sounds great!
Vintage Story is a very cozy game. At least, I feel like it is!
Try out "Alchemist Simulator"
Not Potion Craft, the name is just Alchemist Simulator, it's so cute, so cozy, and so funny, it just happened to release at the same time as Potion Craft and I think it's a shame that they didn't get as much attention because of that
OMG U know about Gourdlets too?!?!? It’s so fun! ❤
The Last Campfire & Dorfromantik ✨
Dredge is a cozy game. I am not accepting opinions.
Dave the Diver!
Omg I think he actually mentioned this one in one of his previous videos! Don’t remember which one it was but it definitely looked rly cool !
Just discovered this channel, totally my vibe! The video is just as cozy as the games. I liked your explanations, really clearly showing the uniqueness of each game and their appeal. Will def be binge-watching the rest of your videos. Oh, and I hope you don't mind me saying but damn you're a handsome guy ^^;
haha thanks im glad you like the videos!
cracks me up that you spent 5 minutes talking about a music making game and didn't include any examples of the music! thanks for the video, these all look great :)
What kind of watch are you wearing?
my non-farming cozy game of choice is called Moonstone Island!
Side note, what's your watch?
Haha it's a cassio calculator/database watch you can get them on Amazon for like 50 bucks, HIGHLY recommend!
What a cozy video!
Unrelated, but where did you get that 3 level wooden wall shelf in the background? I love it
Haha I made it out of some butcher block I had in the shop, I'm glad you like it 😁
I've been enjoying Gourdlets since release.
It's pretty great.
Totally agree haha
I personally love the lost campfire, i don't know if its cozy by definition, but its very nice
I’ve seen a few other people mention this one in the comments, I’d love to see a video with this in it!
I just added it to my cart 😂 it totally looks like it could be a cozy game!
CK2 AGOT is both my cozy game & my Roman Empire
Subscribed, liked, and commented
now i kinda also wanna see good farming games that arent cozy..
That's a good idea, I'll try and find some of those haha
@@CozyDesignStudios :o awesomeee ^-^ i guess i gotts subscribe then so i dont miss it :p
@andyv2209 I mean you said it not me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😂

There’s Pumpkin panic which is a farming horror game if you’re interested
I love a Little to the Left xD and couldn’t wait that they released Tiny Glade. I heard from Tiny Glade on the Gamescom last year :D
I was born into the slow country life and need my fantasy to be different to my reality. 😂
Totally fair 😂
A Little to the Left is such a great game. I'm glad I bought it packaged with both the DLC, but now I'm sad I finished all the puzzles (minus the dailies).
Farming in games has always been my least favorite part. I would love it if there were more games where you were a villager doing any other job you wanted and socializing with everyone. It's why I was so excited for the Fantasy Life game that got announced. I'd much rather play a tailor making and designing clothing than growing crops or taking care of livestock.
Mud runner
Thank you 🥰
