Do you need to disconnect the battery before doing this install?
Are you in the DFW area? Thank you for making this video, been wanting to do this mod but like you said have to be careful and I'm nervous about breaking tabs. It looks like if I just want to change the mirror, you don't have to take the cap and all off?
Hry Jemo thanks for the comment! Yup im in the DFW area. And yeah it can be a bit nervewracking but its definitely a doable project. Just gotta be gentle is all 😁. If you do want to change the mirror you can technically bypass the cover part IF you dont want the LED turn signals built into the mirror itself to be used. If you do, the only way to piggyback that power is by accessing the front turn signal wires which are hidden behind the front cover. Hope that helps 👍

if you need to just reconnect the blind spot monitor, do you still need to remove the other side mirror covers?
Hey Arnelarches thanks for the comment. So the wide angle mirrors have the integrated turn signals built in that need to piggyback off of the turn signal power line thats in the front of the mirror housing. If thats something you dont want to have operating, then just plugging in the blind spot monitor can be done and you dont necessarily need to remove the front portion of the mirror. Hope that helps.
Will all the functions work on a 1 LT ?
Hey thanks for the comment. Yes the functions with respect to the turn signals should still work on the 1LT
I just installed on my 1LT and there’s no wiring for the turn signal in the mirror itself.. so took like 15 minutes
