Wow,there’s so many negative comments. Who cares what song is in the background, that isn’t what’s important anyway. What’s important is that this dude showed me something I’d never seen before and I’m amazed. I’ve only recently picked up guitar and seeing one being painted with a crazy design is fascinating. Good job dude I liked it.
I liked it better when it was concentric rings. I think the colors fit better with a bit more defined of a pattern. A little too 'swirly' for my tastes. The blue one looks nice, though.
Same every time with these swirls, potentially pleasing circles all broken up and twisted into a visual migraine, would've loved to have seen it dipped at 2.30

This guitar looks awesome! Nice work man. I don't understand the negative feedback about your method or music or anything, I didn't see any problems with it. You did an awesome guitar the way you wanted it and showed us the process. Thank you for this, I really enjoyed You just got another sub too
I tried this twice, came out bad both times, i leaned very quick that the amount of borax, the kind of paint and the water temperature all have to be correct or it won't come out nice, great job, looks awsome.
Thanks Scott. The paints I use are Magic Marble which doesn’t require any Borax. I could never get the Borax method to work for me. Everything else you said is so True, I actually have a water chiller to keep my temperature correct.
I must say, that's some nice work, there. My sister has been doing Turkish Water Marbling for almost 50 years now. Kind of a dying trade that's trying to make a small comeback. While she has done some freeform designs like this, her speciality is the more ornate, combed designs, like you would see on the inside covers of an old book. I'll have to see if she can paint an old Tele body that I have had sitting around for far too long.
Hi there thanks for your reply,,I have a bunch of tanks range from 2 gallons to 50 gallons,,,I'm trying to get a swirl on one of my guitars,,,black n yellow colors
The colors look great! I noticed it wasn't spray paint. What kind of paint/brand did you use and the water looked dark and not just clear?! Did you also add something to the water beforehand? I want to get into dipping skateboards but this paint looks really great for the guitar! Cheers
This paint Magic Marble would work great. The water is just plain clear it just looks dark because the tank is dark gray. Magic marble paints don’t require any additional additives to the water. Some of my other videos have more information for you. Thanks for Watching

That came out awesome,,,what am I doing wrong ??? Someone mentioned borax ??
Hi John I've had that happen to me before, I've found 74-76 degrees works good for me. Make sure no fans are blowing. I've only been able to do 4 colors at once, 3 is easier but you can do 4. Borax, No you don't use it with the Magic Marble paints. I had a lot of trial and errors and used a lot of paint. I should ask you too what colors are you using, also how big of a tank are you swirling in?
anishanob I use Magic Marble paints which I liked because you just use it with water and not have to add Borax. I could never get the Borax method to work.
I use PPG and Rustoleum rattlecan Primers and for clearcoat I use SprayMaxx, it is a 2K clearcoat 1 can will do 1 guitar, it is great, easy to wet sand and buff
How is the wood kept dry from water soaking into the wood body and swelling it up? Great work I was hoping you just left the two fried eggs of color and dip it, before you mixed it....simple but sweet...Your version came out marblized- Salvador DALI great!!!
Sorry i missed your question. The body isn't under water long enough to effect the wood. This video as you see is over 2 years old and there is no swelling anywhere. After I remove it from the water I let it drip dry for about 15 minutes then I am able to take the air hose and flush any left over water in the cavities. Also I clearcoat the body with 2k Automotive Clear, made by SprayMaxx. About the 2 fried eggs suggestion yours is not the first and I think I may try one just to see what it turns out like. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for pointing it out, I can't believe that I never noticed that in this video (never watched the end), well I found the original and I will post a link to it as soon as I get time to upload it

I does, maybe too much Black for that combination of colors. But definitely not appropriate for that body.

But,
Doesn’t the water immersion mess up the body and make the wood swell.
I’m pretty sure the primer they have on it beforehand protects the wood.

Or for the third Reich
