    Those keyboards look awesome, I ordered my Air75 V2 with cowberry switches and am looking forward to testing it.
    I like that you are telling in your videos that they should go with ISO layout as well, as a person living in Europe I would totally take ISO instead.

    Cool videos mate, thanks for posting Thinking about getting this Air60 v2 when it drops from the Australian distributor in Jan, just wondered:
    a) I'm thinking of getting the black version, do you know any chance how to change that space bar colour to another colour by replacing the key?
    b) I'm curious since you've reviewed a bunch of these kinds of keyboards, I spend probably half the year working from my own place and half the year travelling and working from coworking spaces - and in a coworking space I don't wanna annoy everybody with a loud keyboard. I wonder which switches you'd recommend for working in an office/coworking space?

    Awesome video man! Keen to pick these up using your link + code of course. I wanted to ask you (im new to the wireless keyboard scene) so what does gf stand for in picking the low profile switch?

    • @semiprotech
      @semiprotech  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! The g or gf stands for grams or gram-force. The higher the number the "heavier" or the resistance feels of the switch. 45g is common for a traditional red linear switch and feels very "middle of the road" in terms of weight - not super light, not heavy. From there, it's all personal preference as to whether you like a bit more resistance or less. I personally find that it's a balancing act - too light and I make typing errors by hitting keys I didn't mean to hit, and too heavy I also make errors because I'm not pressing the keys hard enough to register the press. Some people love switches over 60g but my fingers get tired more quickly on 60g switches compared to 50 or 55. Probably more than you wanted to know but I hope it helps!

      ordered 2! one with aloe and one with moss. really hoping they dont disappoint. They can just work wirelessly through bluetooth right? i dont want to use a dongle (cant use it on a mac air)@@semiprotech really fab video. PS. Used your affiliate code as well! Thanks for this. Although it still pinched (like crazy) to shell out $240 on 2 keyboards for my office.

    I already have Air75 v2 with Cowberry, and I realized that I'm not sure that it was the right choice. So I've just ordered an Air60 with Wisteria switches to compare and leave only one for everyday use.
    What feels wrong with Ait75 to me?
    1. F1-12 row seems redundant. I've got used to the Apple keyboard and use FN+Numbers.
    2. The right column of keys seems also not what I really need, but as it takes space, the center of the whole keyboard is moved a bit to the left side, which is a bit inconvenient to me. And the most annoying is the Enter and Arrow placements. Enter should be on the most right IMO, and arrows should be right below it (not on the right).
    3. Cowberry switches seem fine, but after 2 weeks I feel that I want to try tactile switches as I mistype a lot.
    Well, it's all about finger memory. After 1-2 months I will get used to any keyboard.

    i have both keychron pro and nuphy air 60 v2. turns out the very flat keycaps of nuphy (NSA) is not comfortable to type on specially when the keyboard is tilted by the 2 legs.
    - due to its flatness, easily typo on the other layer ie R2 R3
    - cannot grasp on what the finger currently at because no distinction betwen rows
    - more tiring when typing due to finger need to follow the tilting angle
    compare to keycron pro keycaps (LSA) which is higher on the bottom of the keycap making it correct flat when lifting the keyboard by the legs, making the finger flat

    I'm someone who has a 65 layout keyboard that isn't very portable at home. But I wanted to get a nuphy for its portability. Would you recommend the 60 again or should I go for the 75 since I don't have a 75 at home?

    • @semiprotech
      @semiprotech  Місяць тому

      The 60 is a great portable size but if you think the single-sized right shift with annoy you, I would go for the 75. I personally really enjoy how compact the 60 is but that right shift causes some errors for me so I use the 75 more often.

    How do the Air60 V2 and the Air75 V2 fit on top of regular laptops like ThinkPads or MacBooks? Is it useable without any problems?

    • @semiprotech
      @semiprotech  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes! Both the 60 and the 75 will fit over a laptop keyboard. The thin rubber feet rest between rows of keys and I use both of them on my Macbook Pro without any issue. It may interfere with keys if you have a laptop without any spacing between the keys though.

    • @TheQuangBang
      @TheQuangBang 5 місяців тому

      Which do you personally prefer? I like the ultra small footprint and weight of the 60 but am a bit worried about the key layout and missed key presses, not sure if it is worth it over the 75 which seems to be the complete package, albeit at a slightly bigger form factor.@@semiprotech

    @AKK5I 6 місяців тому +1

    I just got my air60 v2 and it's great but I would like to let people be aware to stay away from the Moss switches. They are too heavier for a low profile layout and difficult to to type on in my experience. I don't like them are going to put on Wisteria instead.

    • @SunsetNova
      @SunsetNova 6 місяців тому +1

      I have Moss switches and they are great. It depends on typing style

    • @AKK5I
      @AKK5I 6 місяців тому +1

      @@SunsetNova I'm guessing you're a touch typist? I'm very average in my typing abilities but I'm not sure if it's because of the switches, low profile form factor, non standard layout (or a combination of all 3), but I have been making very frequent typos on my Moss Air60 V2 - hitting neighbour keys and double inputs. It's a shame because Browns are my favourite switch and I wanted something a bit heavier with a stronger tactile bump. The Moss switches sound REALLY good, but I feel the pre travel is too little/too heavy and the haptic sensation you get is very "on-off", vs a brown where the tactile bump is more towards the middle.
      I'll try to keep adjusting to it in the meanwhile.

    I'm so confused about the colors of the grey keyboard... on some pictures and videos (like here) the darker keycaps look basically neutral grey, which is a great match for the grey frame... but on some other pictures and videos those keycaps look bluish, creating a jarring combination. Gosh, I'll end up ordering a white maybe just to be safe :(
    Edit: Ah, it seems that the V1 is the ugly bluish! Though, even on NuPhys website the page of the V2 shows the picture of this bluish one on the top.

    10:58 Ngl, what makes it very difficult for me to pull the trigger on this is;
    1. Not having an option for proper ANSI layout (I really hate the odd arrow key in 60% format) or better yet Tsangan
    2. The baked in functions sublegends on the number row since this keyboard runs VIA it would be the first thing I would remap and never touch the defaults.
    3. The fact the colorway makes it look like a toy. Especially given the fact that this keyboard isn't exactly cheap-cheap, it should at least look like its pricetag.
