I sure do love me some Steak-Umm ‘Po Boys! Thanks for doing this video! Fun fact: the cheese steak was created in 1896 by the Pennsylvania Dutch. That’s right, it’s Amish food!!! You are welcome…😊
I used to deliver auto parts for Pep Boys about 10 years ago and there was a store that I had to be at 5 o’clock in the morning. I’ll get there around four and there was a little shack 24 hours a day that sold cheesesteaks. They were pretty awesome. I would have one for breakfast every time I went there.
Nice to see pats steaks on your channel! I go to pats every once in a while it’s a good steak …been coming to pats for over 35 years since my dad took me here …I always loved just looking at all the pictures they had hanging up and watching them cook …👍 thanks for the video !

Ex OTR driver here my Philly cheesesteak was whizzed with onion peppers and shrooms. I never went to Pat's or Genos either I had a little place close to were I'd reload that I would walk to and grab a couple. It was about 3 blocks away.
I click on this video cause as I'm a native philadelphian and I spot a Immediate red flag 🚩 Do your research and avoid the tourist traps. Pat's and Geno's are far from the best in Philly
@@MH-fb5kr IMO, Angelo's pizzeria is the best in the city. Literally 5 minutes down from those tourist traps. John's roast pork is another one that you can't go wrong with.
I used to drive from Ellicott City to Philly once a month to get a Philly Cheese Steak Sub with Fries and a Soda. 😊 I would often bring one back with me and heat it up to watch a movie. They were so good. 😊
Cheesesteaks are now available everywhere in the USA, thanks to Philly taking simple ingredients and building a hearty, working class sandwich. Everyone knows about Pat's and Geno's from TV shows, because they are very old establishments that are now institutions. But before you book your flight to Philly, ask the locals where the 'best' cheesesteaks are made. Odds are slim it will be Pat's or Geno's. My current favorite is from a food truck here in Oregon whose most popular order is a foot long roll cheesesteak with provolone and grilled onions that weighs about a pound and a half. Had one with cheese whiz once in Santa Monica, but it was way overpriced and average. I'd love to visit Philly someday and go on a food tour with a local. To repay them, I'll take them on a microbrew/stripper club/tattoo parlor tour if they ever visit Portland. :)
I live in Japan and I just don't get to see this kind of heavenly takeaway over here.... I see myself coming here everyday if I were a Philadelphian (dribbling as I type)
-On a thin sliced steak sandwich, it doesn’t matter much but at Pat’s, there was almost no marbling in the meat at all. Not even sure if it was a choice cut. Could have been select. They even had to add oil to the flat top. -At Monti’s or Donkey’s, I forget, lettuce and tomato are great on a burger but I totally don’t get it on a steak and cheese. -Ketchup is a hard no ✋
Would be happy to eat at any of these places except the first one. Skimpy skimpy portions. Most of the time the meat didn't even reach to the end of the bun. No seasoning either on the meat or on the onions. The cheese wasn't even melted. What with all the competition with these kinds of steaks I'm surprised they are still in business. I certainly wouldn't eat there.
Personally, if I lived in that area, ( I don't. I live in Kansas), I'm afraid I'd have to make the drive to New Jersey to that place with the donkey out in front of their place. They look damn good. And theirs have quite a bit of meat, cheese, and onions in them. More than this place( Pats).
While I am proud you're showing a Philly Staple this is not where most of us go to get our steaks. This is a tourist destination we generally get steaks from local pizza stores. I have never when getting ready to order said hey you guys want Pat's steaks in my Philly born life.
I'm watching for 10 mins and most of the time only 2/3 of the sandwich has all the toppings lmao. Like 5:22 bro put ALL the mushrooms in the middle of the sandwich
@@tbone9603 no, I know this for a fact. I lived in PA and tried plenty of cheesesteaks. I'd say dalessandro's is one of the best Philly has to offer. Beats pats and geno's by miles and miles.

i went pats for many many years n i just moved away from the area. i see ppl offer cheese steaks in my new area n to my surprise they suck. i couldnt believe it not to mention here on yt every person not from the tri state cant make a cheese steak correctly. you show em n they just dont listen. the bread it is important it needs to be soft but still have a chew, the steak is thinly sliced ribeye n you dont salt it, you use a dry aged beef tallow that is seasoned. you dont cut the meat texture contributes to the flavor, finally you wrap it, wrapping it seals the heat n the cheese n steal mingle n the roll steams a bit. boom simple right.
It just too dirty for me to much garbage meat parts left on grill from 8 hours ago at start of the shift lol... Ill stay at home ... i cook this cheaper at home and i know whats going on my plate while others are getting sick and wondering why wow .. they just keep adding raw meat to cooked meat grill and never clean the whole day???? everything looks good until that stomach start bubbling

I can't understand all of those beautiful ingredients and then rubbing cheese whiz on it.
According to Anthony Bourdain, Donkey's Place in Camden has the best cheesesteak in the US. Their superior roll makes the difference.
Pats: Yes
Donkeys: No
Monti's: Yes
Federoff's: Maybe
