1. The PocketGo has an SD Card reader in the box. No need to get another SD Card reader.
2. There's no need to format the card. Win32DiskImage (or Etcher) will overwrite the card completely.
3. These devices are not compatible with exFAT. You need to use FAT32. Thankfully, you'll get a FAT32 system when you flash it.
But the device supposedly supports 128GB SD cards. That means it has to support exFAT (or NTFS) because FAT32 maxes out at 32GB SD cards.
Takeshi7 The legend that FAT32 only goes to 32GB is exactly that: Legend.
The actual limit to FAT32 is 16TB. Which is still pretty limited, but not too much for the purpose of these devices. All of my RS-97 systems are loaded with 256GB FAT32 cards, for example.
The legend of 32GB comes from earlier versions of Windows forcing exFAT formatting if more than 32GB are selected. I use a Mac to format, so I don’t really notice.

After my PocketGo stopped working 10 minutes into testing it, I wrote to the customer service asking for help getting the SD-Card fixed (it said corrupted files), here is what they answered me:
"Whether you turned off the console with the switch while in-game without going to the OS and hitting the power button?
If yes, it will damage your sd card system. "
Does that mean the entire pocket go is broken or just you need a new SD card

Extreme sarcasm here. Thank you soooo much Tech dude, for NOT mentioning to anyone that win 10 is required for this to work properly. I bricked a perfectly new 32gb micro that now will not reformat and after the imager,, is exactly the same size as the original card it came with (which is supposed to be 8gb, but reflects 253 mb, just like my shiney new one! )YaY!!! - Will not be subscribing, nor watching any of your videos in the future. Especially if it costs me 10$ each time...pffft.
Ive updated mine but i still have the problems of the A and B buttons are swapped on many applications, is there any way to fix this??
This video works for those who had the same problem as me, you ended up turning off the device during the game and not in the main menu. and since then Pocket Go doesn't turn on, im not american, so sorry for the english mistakes

He james question, after updating my firmware it seems my sd card8 card seems to have 3 gig on the main and boot in total, with about only 800 mb left to install games, which should be around 5 free space on main? any idea what could have happened?
I know this is a year later but you needed to expand the partition.
I did everything and it seemed like it was going well. But when I started copying roms into the roms folder I ran out of space before adding 300mb of games. Any idea why this happened? When I formatted the SD card it said there was 57gb of free space. But then, after I installed the custom firmware, I barely had any space left.
When you formatted the drive, it was only a quick format. You still have like 57gb of unallocated drive spqce
you solve this by using MiniTool Partition Wizard to expand the main drive (not the program he used in the vid, it’s grayed out)
I've the four sections (boot, main...) but only in the partitions window and I can't open them... Why? I need help. I can only open the "boot" :(

John Doe - The card still works in the Pocket Go, but i can’t acces the partition on desktop... only acces to windows partition 😥

@@MartR80 I Have the solution! Go to Partition Wizard and than right click on the "main" partition "change letter" and then you can see the partition! :D

I put cfw 1.2 on my pocket on a 128 gb card but where i put the roms it’s on giving me 950 mb out of 123.32 gb not used how do I put all my gb on the main please help me

Is there a way to go into sleep mode while having an SNES game running? I can only seem to do it by completely exiting which defeats the purpose of "sleep and continue" sleep mode.

Good afternoon. Hope you are well. Big fan of your channel. I had an issue with the bittboy pocket go I was wondering if you could help me with. I have the new firmware installed on the SD. It works in the system just fine but I cannot access the Main file to put my ROMs on there. It does not show up. If there is any path you could guide me on that I'm not seeing, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
I'm still waiting for my pocket go to arrive but i've followed your instructions above... my 16gb SD card has only providied me with 2.99 Gb space. is that correct? whats the use of the extra space if it doesn't utilise it?
Ive re-traced my steps and it won't allow me to extend the partion size afterwards... would that be an SD card issue? or software perhaps? i'm using a legit scandisk 16gb card.. not a china knock off even
I was able to extend the partition with a program called Mini tool partition wizard. Extend the "main" partitio .

I have read an amazon review stating that the screen on this is only 30 fps and that's what causes tearing. Is this correct?

@@TheRealFrankWizza Don't feel too bad, I bought one, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Faster paced horizontal platformers (mario, megaman, etc...) will be a small problem, but they are very much playable. However, slower games, castlevania, zelda, pretty much any turn based games, are fantastic.
@@daseal8997 Yeah, but then most of your games run at half speed which is much worse. I would't even consider that as a solution, just a worse problem.
@@daseal8997 Also, where do you even see the settings for that? I don't see that in the system settings and have yet to open an emulator that has this function.

ExFat. Shouldn’t you use fat32? Not too familiar with bittboy/pocket go but in most emulation it is FAT 32. I know it is essentially a more optimized version of fat32 but just wondering if this will cause issues on the emulators

My problem is neo geo none of my ROMs will play but play every other handheld I have even rs97 FBA says no bio's found on ldk but I put the bio's I've always used and just not sure what to do any help would be appreciated
Hi, I have followed the instructions and they work great, My SD card was corrupt so I used a new SD card, I now have 4 sections on the SD card.When transfering roms it does so into the main partition. however this is only 1.13 GB and can not be expanded. At the end of the SD card there is 123.12 unallocated and this can not be removed or changed. I've had the same thing with different size SD cards with the unallocated part being unavailable to use. This means I'm limited to roms, can anyone help?
Also it will not allow me to extend the volume of main (I;) into the unallocated section or change the size of main (I;)

Does your screen slightly tilted down on the left?
I tried to install this on my pocketgo v1, but it makes the main partition tiny, not using the rest of the storage space on the SD card. Trying to expand the partition breaks everything.

When I use win32 to install the image it unallocates 27.9gb. How can I merge the unallocated space it won't let me add any more roms/iso since it says no storage left since it has unallocated 27.9gb of the 32gb sd card

I literally given up... bricked 3 sd cards but finally I've managed to get the firmware, but can't get any roms on any emulator or format to run. It's not the roms, definately something in the install of this firmware i've missed.
Is there any forums or reddit threads for help? specifically for the Pocket Go?
Petey The Clown maybe try to use fat 32 instead for the file system. I think that could be the issue. Some of these emulators may not be able to compatible otherwise.
It seems to have only created the first Partition? With gb, gbc and nes. I also used the minitool partition and there seem to be others but i can't seem to 'create' or appear.. Any thoughts ?
solution found, it has to be windows 10 for this to work, any other windows it will not show the other partition.
Hi Guys need some help. I wrote the file onto the sd card but afterwards i am not allowed to view the sd card XD so i cannot port roms onto it.

I've noticed with the pocket go that the snes emulator seems to run games slow, is there a possibility to install a different snes emulator or does this update help with that?
You only need to not play games like Yoshi's Island that requires a special chip , that's probably the issue

@@didde-wankenobi6509 oh crazy! No idea what the issue is then. For me I just finally bought a new SD card, followed this video down to the T, still did not show folders. Then upgraded to 10 and there was no issue

JGamer I rather have an okay shell then deal with the shitty screen tearing, that’s why I stick with my gcw zero just sucks there aren’t any firmware updates for it bc it blows all these handhelds out of the water

I followed the instructions and the ROM partion is like only 1 gig on a 32 gig card ? I tried it again on another 16gig card and ended up with only a 1gig partion again ?
It turns out it partitions the main partition at 1.1GB and has an unallocated partition of the remainder of the card. I have a 32 GB card as well, and it turned out the unallocated partition was roughly 27 GB. Just resize the main partition and it should be fine

@@verdant786 You have to use a third party program to do so. I'm not at the computer I have it installed on so can't let you know what I used, but there are quite a few free ones out there. The one I had showed the various partitions and I just slid the Main partition to increase the size and it automatically utilized the unallocated space.

NEVER turn off your Pocket Go like that.

No, still just as bad. I got this to play mario world hacks on the go, but Super mario world is basically unplayable. NES is just as bad.
The newest version helps slightly but it still is noticeable on most of the emulators. Personally it doesn’t bother me too much. If you want perfect quality then you can spend more on a better device or play the real console.

yes, screen tearing is caused by the display. No update can fix that.

Pocket go or LDK landscape?
Ldk landscape doesnt seem to have the screen tearing issue that the pocker go has. I have the pocket go with the latest firmware and anything with fast scrolling has very bad screen tearing.
Ldk landscape. The screen quality is nearly as good, but with no screen tearing. Has stereo speakers. And most importantly the firmware is way easier to work with. Very easy to add games and add the custom firmware. I just got the bittboy and can't even add games to it. Can't figure it out.
