It was so much fun to see your miniatures and how they all work in the space.
Your handmade cabinet is the perfect example of why you just go for it and make things. There are always mistakes but what matters most is having fun and being creative. The mistakes disappear.

The "steam" from the kettle is SO cute! as to the large food containers, it *is* a rooming house with a café. It seems reasonable that between boarders and café customers, they would need "restaurant-size" cans and jars. :) The kitchen looks great so far, and I look forward to seeing even more in place.

Thank You! Absolutely!! As a child I felt like my hand made items were inferior to the mass produced things. Until i realized the More often I made things the better the results! Daddy would say "PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!" Even if you are Gifted You Have to PRACTICE! After Practicing and seeing my improvement l was proud of what I had made by hand! I had to Accept that "I am not a machine". So now I feel proud to display my "imperfect" hand made pieces along with the Mass produced pieces of My collections, because i know I have grown.

I really like your style. The Rooming House Doll House reminds me of old houses I have been in. I use a wood cookstove now and can assure you that you can cook on all parts of the stove, and don't need to use an eye unless you take it out to set a pot down in the hole, like a bean pot, or a very primitive toaster for wonderful smoky toast. Love your skillet of cornbread!

I love your kitchen in the rooming house, Gretchen!! I particularly love the stove, as it reminds me of my Grandmother's old stove that she had in her house. I used to watch Grandmother clean that stove, and cook with it, and loved the warm and homely feeling it gave me. Your kitchen dresser, and hutch is wonderful! The things you made for the dolls' food are better than anything that I could make. Most of my dolls house food is bought from Michael's craft store.
