I absolutely love this artisan made kit from www.robinbetterley.com. I enjoy supporting small businesses and this kit was a joy! I had so much fun assembling this easy Secret Book kit. There are dozens of options, including a Murder series with miniature crime scenes inside the books.

You need to put these videos on your shop website. I only went there through a link in one of these videos and I think it would add a lot. It would help prospective buyers to understand what they get and to guide them through the process. I think some people might feel intimidated or just not sure. These videos would be perfect for you site!

The boat was tiny but fairly easy to assemble. I just make a 1:144 scale mailbox yesterday and that was much more finicky.
1:144 scale? Oh lord now that IS tiny! I've had a tiny bird house complete with a nest and eggs on my To Do wish list for a while, I don't know why I do this to myself lol. Is there such a thing as crafting masochism? Hahaha

You can probably squeeze the paint into a tiny container to keep it fresh so you don't have to stuff it back in :)
I've also seen people just keep the paints in pallets, with a piece of cling film over the top

I saved the tiny paint containers from my kids kits and save my leftover paints in those. They keep the paint fresher than containers the craft stores sell, they're easy to clean, and last many many uses.

I've been in love with the look of RBM's finished kits for a little while now. Maybe a little over a year, but hadn't bought any in that time. I've finally bought some now that I'm working on a new house (her pretty minis didn't fit the style of my last house). I've been watching you for about a year now as well and I can't believe it's taken me this long to find out that you've built her kits on your channel. I'm a little sad that this is content I would have missed if I wasn't searching for videos of RBM kit assembling.

Yes, exactly! Like a dollhouse for your dollhouse. Robin Betterley even has Secret Books with two stories and the face of the book looks like a dollhouse. They're so sweet.

I was a little nervous when I saw how small the pieces are and the page of instructions but it was easy and so much fun.
Hi Shyra. So cute. I am not that good with paint brushes especially with car models to make the paint look smooth. So I mainly use spray can or airbrush and use paint brush to cover the areas where was cut of the sprue. Later on would like to buy a very big Titanic model kit. I have got a wooden paint holder that I had to put together and glue
I love the finish an airbrush leaves but I have bad luck with mine. I try to follow all the rules, yet I always manage to clog it.

@@queencityminis Usually I have bad luck with airbrush as well and mine always needs cleaning and clogged up and have to get parts for it.

Oh my goodness! This is adorable!! Most sailboats I've seen are white, above the water line anyway, and shiny like a car. The creativity of people amazes me. Mini crime scenes huh?

@@queencityminis 90 options!!!!!!!! Omg! I tried the link but the page wouldn't load, my tablet has no memory left. I had a friend with a yacht once, and the yacht club had sailboat races every week. I was able to go on one race and hold on for dear life as the boat leaned over to one side and the other, dipping the railings into the water. It was exhilarating , the water was all fluffy. The people who knew how to Sail were going nuts, all busy. I still don't know port and starboard. Why can't they do right and left? You could do another kit like this, but modify it and paint the background like the sea and sky, and have the boat in the water?

I bought a Haul from Robin Betterley but only got two secret book kits. I have a Halloween one. I wish I had gotten more!
This was so relaxing to watch. Your channel is so calming to me. What glue do you recommend when do crafts like this?
Thank you! My favorite glue is Canopy Glue Formula 560, which is a water based glue. To me, it's like thin tacky glue. It grabs quickly. Most people use wood glue, which is another great option I use often.

This looks great. As for putting paint back into the tube- I just put paint directly on my brush a little at a time and never waste a bit even of paints I wish I could throw out 🤦♀️
Same here! But now that I film, I want to show the viewers the color so I end up having to scoop paint back into the tube 😆

I love this little kit! I would think that tape adhesive would yellow and become brittle over time so modpodge is a better choice.
Oh wow! I never thought of that. I'll have to get non-yellowing tape. Good point
I use packaging clear tape and it's not changed. My project is 3 years old.
Question: Do you think it's easier to paint before you take out the tiny pieces?
Yes, it probably is easier to paint before although it's fairly easy either way.

Lol - you made me laugh! No - I don't try to put the paint back in the tube, BUT I do try to save it in a sealed container!! This is super cute, and I have purchased several Robin Betterley kits (1:12 scale). I have a "book" that opens and has a compartment inside - thinking of trying some 1:48 scale kits of hers to go in there... I had never considered 1:48 scale until I saw your witch's cottage. Now I really want to try it! By the way, the cottage is sold out. Probably best for me right now, as I DO NOT NEED MORE PROJECTS!! lololololol
I hate wasting paint 🤣 I usually use just a tiny amount of dip my brush right in the bottle.
I really recommend 1:48! So much fun. I also have some 1:48 Betterley kits. I think I'll use them in shadow boxes, since I don't have a 1:48 house. Maybe I should make my own, kinda like Bentley House Mini did with her cardboard house. Hmm...
That's too bad the cottage kits are sold out! They're so much fun. I'm going to the IGMA show in CT in September and taking a Jill Castoral class. I made my Wine Room box in a class of hers. I loved it!

Hi, what glue is that with the micro metal tip? I never have a small enough applicator tip.
The glue is called Canopy Glue. The applicator bottle was given to me in a class I took with Fran Sussman.

@@queencityminis its ok if they don't I can make it out of materials I have . its just the point of it. i have some paper that is the same thickness of it and it will be a pain but still can make it work. I started it and am loving what I have done. I am adding a letter to the book shelf on top and omg it was so hard to make lol and am going to add a vase with some flowers too. I am also going to put the pictures on a stir stick to make it look more like its on a frame. I am not sure how t get you a picture of it when I am done. Again thank you so much for doing the videos for us.
Did you take a good look around to make sure the pieces didn't come out of the laser cut sheet when you opened it?

I love what you did for one thing is I'm a dick in my church and the lady makes these little miniature books you made a miniature book with a cell phone in there that is the best that I hope you don't mind but I want to see if I could do it with like a match sticks to make a little bit more realistic a little bit more old like like fainted out all that but I want to see if the lady in my church cuz she's a deacon too and she does all the crash of the church and Christmas decorations and all this and cards so I'm going to tell her that you are the second Queen she's the first queen you're the second Queen I love it I love it I love it I love it if there was a way I can get you a plaque big black trophy I would do it because you're the queen I don't know who you are but that is the best best idea you would ever did in life I can never believe it in my whole life I love it and I'm going to do it that for my church because we do it like every Sundays for my church as a coffee hour and I'm going to do it I'm going to tell them that you're the second Queen who told me how to do this thank you so much and I'm Joe and I'm like the Kraft king of making GI Joe stuff you got me so much cool ideas for making my other projects and if we could communicate back and forth once in awhile I will so I can show you my projects thank you ain't keep cool
