There are a few factors involved when it comes to deciding who to let in, who to talk to vs who you distrust and who you are cautious around. Obviously, being diplomatic is preferrable. But it’s not always applicable. I don’t care about what kind of trauma The Gov went through. Everyone has had their share of trauma. It’s what they do with that trauma that matters. It’s about your actions. It also comes down to who is a liability, who acts selfishly. Besides, Rick and The Gov are two different people, two different personalities, totally different priorities. Just like Shane, the Gov is no longer interested in protecting his community of people. The Gov does not inspire loyalty. Everyone is Rick’s group is LOYAL to him, LOYAL to each other and he shows that LOYALTY back. Daryl and Merle are brothers, but blood is not everything. And while Daryl started off rough around the edges, he was committed to looking for Sophia when no one else would, a child that has no relation to him. He proved himself. Trust is what’s important. And sorry not sorry, The Gov can rot. Being a woman, if I were Maggie or Michonne, there would be no “working it out” with him. (And Andrea has POOR taste in men.)
Thank you. There is no understanding a man who sexually violates a woman. Ugh. And Merle facilitated it by taking Maggie and Glen to the governor. So I could see why they wouldn't want to coexist with him.

Ummm no, if Rick collected the heads of his kills in tanks like trophies I would call him a psychopath and not like him but that's just me.
Hear me out though, when I was watching this scene, I didn’t even consider they were trophies at first! I was convinced they were some kind of camouflage attempt to give him more caution-free time with his daughter.
But yeah I agree, given I now know they were more like trophies, it is sickening and psychopathic 🤷♂️

Yass I completely agree. I love the way his mind works, and his opinions really align with a lot of mine the first time I watched it. Now, I have even more ideas and thoughts listening to his, which is why I really love his reactions.
No matter if the Gov was a good man before the turn he isn't one now imo. And there isn't anything normal about the trophy heads in the tanks.
It's the same as animal fur rugs or mounted heads. I would have zombie heads. It's badass. Michonne kept two walkers...

Whether he was psycho before or made bad by this world, his actions are not justifiable. A person who keeps walker heads, who assaults a captive woman, and lies to everyone is rightly called evil. And that has nothing to do with any of his actions beyond this point.
I agree 100 percent that his actions aren’t justifiable - however, having studied psychology, my brain has been tuned to thinking of WHY in everyone and everything. So as much as I don’t condone his decisions, or justify them, I like to judge people on their full picture!

Welcome back! Your reaction videos are always interesting, in part because of your tendency to reserve judgement on the characters, until you have an opportunity to see a more complete picture. Part of the appeal of this series is and was for those of us who saw it from the beginning, is the speculation about what will happen, what certain events will mean down the road, etc. But you're right, so much happened in this episode! I didn't recall this much happening in this particular episode. But you will see it all play out. I like the fact that characters are allowed to make mistakes, and to be flawed, it makes their story much more interesting, and true to life. People are imperfect, and they make mistakes. It's just that the fallout from a choice or decision in this world is much more brutal, immediate, and far reaching. And you have people in leadership positions under some of the most extreme circumstances that you could possibly imagine. Stay tuned, because there is so much more to come! Welcome back Daniel. Loving your enthusiasm for the show, you generally feel the love as I think most people want. Some react just for clicks. You give strong reasons for dissecting a story line. All the characters have good and bad but ultimately I seem to understand why. Still one reason I've loved almost obsessed with my show. Onto the next one. Soon hopefully

When Shane killed Herschesls family.infront of his eyes -he Woke up from his illusions . Later; at the bar, he told Rick that. I think that Shane did was necessary for him to see that this Walkers is not humans anymore and they never will be. Dangerous are what they are. Not something to freed and hoping they will come back again as they was.

The thing I like about Merle is he is what he is. He doesn't present himself one way and then act in another, like Phillip for instance. He's an a**hole and a racist but he's not much of a liar. You know where you stand with him. Personally, I think Glenn should have stayed with Merle while Maggie went back to the prison for Daryl and Rick. Just saying NO to him right then when he just found out about Dary was definitely not the way to go.

Merle is another evil character who should have died on the roof top. No redeeming him was ever possible. The writers of this show did a marvellous job - the clues to the good and evil are often subtle, but they are always there. It is a world where you have to decide very, very quickly. Bad people may appear to do good - if it serves their interests. It the good people to put themselves at great risk, without tangible benefit, apart from it being the right thing to do.
He's not evil, he has plenty of good in him, even Michonne saw that...and he was redeemed.
