As an Alaskan who watches the salmon migrate every year, I'm telling y'all do NOT want to eat those salmon. The only time you want to eat a salmon after they've changed colors is when they just start heading up the rivers, unless the migration to the spawning beds is really long and they can endure for a long time.
The reason is that these fish start to deteriorate while they're alive because their immune system actually shuts down, so they become more susceptible to diseases and start to rot.
Not only that, but they lose most of the good fats and other major nutritional value that makes them good eating due to the strenuous journey, to the point where bears will only catch them just to eat their eggs and brains since it's the only bits that are still nutritious.
I also won't forget to mention that those are chum salmon, which many say is the least tasty of the pacific salmon and most people just smoke them or give them to their dogs to eat, which is where they get their other name from, "dog salmon", and they're especially popular amongst dog mushers way up North in Alaska. They're still edible, just not as good as the other four, although their eggs make for a popular caviar over in Japan called "Ikura".
If you ever come to Alaska or can go anywhere else with salmon spawning streams, you can witness for yourself how gross the salmon get when they're about ready to spawn.
    Edit: for corrections

Been to this very spot next to East Purdy Cutoff Road, next to the Skokomish River in near Hoodsport WA, and seen this first hand and that isn't a stream: It is a culvert across the road from the creek. Lord Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, please don’t worship celebrities and entertainment, focus on Him alone. I promise there’s more to life than money, partying, homosexuality and music. Hell is real, repent from sinning confess your sins and ask God to forgive you, I know He will if you’re sincere. Hell is very hot, people please repent! In the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏💪✝️💜❤️✝️!
Idolatry such as, Islam, Catholicism, Sangomaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Racism, Santa Clausism, Confucianism, New Age, Science, Evolution, halloweenism, Harry Potterism, Politics, Donald Trumpism, Easter Bunnyism and other religions/faiths that are outside Biblical Christianity lead to hell! Don’t believe them, believe the Almighty God the Father of Lord Jesus Christ, who begot Him. Our Creator, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is mighty, He doesn’t need a woman to beget a son, He is God. I choose to put my faith in a God who can do anything and everything, a God who has unlimited and infinite power to beget!
So, it’s time to confess that Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord and to believe that He died and rose from the grave after three days and you shall be saved if you only obey Him by praying, worshipping, praising, reading the Bible and living holy and righteously according to the Bible. You have to endure until the end, carry your cross daily and build your relationship with God by following Lord Jesus daily until the end. You must never renounce your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, there’s hell awaiting those who reject/deny Lord Jesus Christ and those who continue living sinfully, even the Christians who don’t want to repent will face the same fate, so please repent beloved people, in Lord Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious Name, Amen.

That’s the life cycle of a salmon. They die after laying eggs. These dying ones are not good for consumption, unless you are a bear. If you take care of nature, it will give back in abundance. There lots of conservation efforts and projects going on to give this kind of result. People need discipline and just can not keep taking from nature. My sister thought the salmon or just put there on purpose, but the truth is now they lay their eggs in these little streams, and they die there. Once they do that they die. If you went “fishing” at this spot, not only would you be subject to major fines and jail time but you’d be helping to decimate the salmon population.

.😂I do not.....perhaps someone can assist me with the requisite information.
I have found salmon whilst walking one of the family's parcels of land...I vaguely remember a great grand someone talking about something like this being a family wide celebration that EVERYONE flew, drove, sailed, rode here for but it stopped in the late 90s? Apparently there just weren't any or very few fish. However this year I saw HUNDREDS..THOUSANDS ? The Bears are THRILLED 😂
Is it legal for me to pick them out of the water before they die ? Aaannd ...do they taste good/different than other times in their lives?
